((nooooo, my dragons died! D':>))

Chiru was pawing the door. 'Alright, let's go out,' said Amalia. The fox yipped and ran out when she opened the door. He came back and leaped onto her shoulder. 'Hello,' she greeted the owner. 'What food do you have?'

((I hate when that happens. It's why I stopped trying to get dragons. I prefer pets that don't die ^^))

"'morning Amalia," Wachiru answered as the customer approached. "Let's see... I have bread, various kind of meats, eggs and cheese. I also have some vegetable soup I have to heat for lunch time, but I could reheat you a bowl if you want."

Iregi waited while his brother and the lady talked. Wachiru didn't appreciate when he interrupted him, and he was too busy eating anyway. He grabbed the last slice of ham and ate it up in one bite, wondering what the day would bring. Hopefully it would be less boring than the last few days, or weeks. He took his bowl of tea and started sipping it, looking at the new customer.

Leon stretched as he leaned back against the counter brushing his hair out of his face as he spaced out a bit. Business had been rather slow and he hated sitting around with nothing to do.

"Oye! Leon!" His master called for him from the back room, and he looked up as the old man hobbled in holding himself up on his cane. "I've got an order i need ye to fix up for me, I'm having some issues with it, I'm not quite as young as i used to be lad."

"Yes of course master." he smiled some and looked at the blueprints thinking for a moment as the image began to form in his head, and he sat down setting to work closing his eyes and smiling widely. He really enjoyed his work, and his master really was having some trouble running the shop on his own. He'd been trying to take up as much work as he could to keep the old man from overdoing it.

Sirrane trudged through the gates of the Gated City. Perhaps any other day, she would have "graced the path with her dancer's gait," or "traipsed on through the gates," or perhaps even sauntered. But those days were certainly not today.

Damn, she was tired.

The weight of her pack felt like a cinder block despite being only clothes and necessities, and her feet dragged along the ground. On top of that, she was sweating profusely, despite the temperate weather. Or maybe she was freezing. Or maybe she had just better find someplace to stay before she collapsed from exhaustion on the cobblestone street.

"Damn it," Sirrane clasped her forehead. In times like this she fancied herself a cleric, one that could heal minor aches and pains with a touch. Her head had been swimming with strange thoughts and memories from years past. That, coupled with sudden nausea, had caused her to make the hasty decision to reach the next city by morn, before she threw up.
Or fell asleep and had that dream about the flaming (in every sense of the word) wizard, a satyr that resembled a former lover, and a hulking, armored, priest with a holy mace and wearing nothing but a...anyway.

Upon taking her hand from her forehead and applying great mental efforts to erase certain thoughts from her head, came upon a certain inn.

Sirrane murmured, "It'll do," and stumbled feverishly through the door.

'I'll have bread,' said Amalia. 'Bread and cheese.' She stroked Chiru's fur before he shot out of the inn, probably wanting to go hunt. She turned around as she heard someone come in. She wouldn't have given the person a second glance if it weren't for the exhaustion on her face. 'Are you alright?' she asked, worried.

"Bread and cheese it is then," Wachiru said with a smile, heading for the kitchen to get what Amalia had ordered. He heard the little bell above the door rang, but figured Iregi would take care of it if it was an emergency, which was unlikely at this early hour. He grabbed a loaf of bread, slicing a few thick slices of it before placing it on a platter. He then headed to the fridge and grabbed a block of local cheese and adding it to the platter. He then headed back to the main room, the platter in his hands, looking for where Amalia was to serve her her breakfast.

Iregi was finishing his bowl of tea slowly. He was about to start talking with the woman, when the bell rang. He didn't care much about who could enter the building at this hour, and so he didn't react until he heard Amalia asked if the newcomer was alright. Curious, Iregi turned his head to see who had entered. A woman, probably around his age, was standing next to the door, apparently exhausted. The young man got up from his seat and headed closer to the newcomer. Reaching an arm to help her walk, he asked: "Are you ok?"

Sirrane was leaning against the doorway, concentrating on the ground, curious as to why it wouldn't stop moving. After the second "Are you okay," she managed to look up and see a young man before her offering an arm to presumably help steady herself, which she took with as grateful a nod as she could muster.

"Room...how much?" Her eyes widened slightly at hearing the shortness of her breath and weakness of her own voice. Surely, she wasn't sick. It suddenly occurred to her that after all those years dancing in taverns, mingling with many a seedy individual, adventuring with her former "family" and brushing with death so often that they were practically acquaintances...she had not once gotten ill. Not even a cold.

"I need to...lie down..."

((Read Sirrane's biography. She's a dancer as well as mine. And she has warm colours on her dancing costume as well as mine. Only difference is that my Amalia is a fire-dancer with a pet fox. Wow.))

'You heard her,' snapped Amalia. 'Get her warm blankets. Wachiru, warm up the soup you mentioned. I need to go collect something.' She went out. Now, where was the herb that her mother always used when someone was really sick? It liked clinging to trees, which meant that she should go looking in the forest.

"Rooms are 100 silver per week," Wachiru answered as he dropped the platter on the bar top and headed closer to the newcomer, just in case she was going to faint. "Don't worry about that for now though," he added gently. "Iregi, bring her to the spare room, please," he then asked his brother. There was a small room with a bed just beside the kitchen. Though it wasn't as comfortable as the ones upstairs, the woman didn't really look like she could climb the stairs now. It would be good enough for her to rest, and easier for them to keep an eye on her if needed.

He then nodded to Amalia's order and headed to the kitchen to warm some soup. He let Iregi took care of the rest, knowing his brother was able to get a blanket and anything the woman could need.

Iregi smiled at the woman as she grabbed her hand. He then nodded to his brother with a little "Ok!" and slowly leaded the woman toward the room. He knew perfectly were it was, having stayed there a few nights before he was allowed to have a real room.

((Lulz, I noticed that too, part of the reason I put her on hiatus as far as her occupation's concerned. Sirrane's a DND character I used during the year, and she was only a dancer. Decided to use her to flesh her out a little more Happy))

"Thank you...very much." Sirrane managed a weak smile and nodded at the woman as she left briskly.

Struggling to keep from fainting, she made her way to the room with the help of the young man assisting her. "I'm not usually sick...just kind of came up." She looked at him and the large barkeep. "You are both very kind."

With someone leading her about, she decided to take a look at her surroundings, noting the Griffins. "Lemme guess...Griffin in?"

"The Crested Griffin, to be exact," Iregi answered gently, leading the woman to the room. He stayed with her until she sat on the bed. Though it was clean and ready for anyone who needed it, the bed lacked a proper blanket and pillow. Iregi shrugged and said: "I'll go fetch you a warm blanket and a pillow." He gave a last look to the woman, being sure she was alright, and left the room, heading for a nearby closet.

The young Zuntai opened the door of the closet, looking for a large chest at the bottom of it. Wachiru had kept some of his old habits, including keeping blankets and sheets in large chest to prevent them from being attacked by moths. He opened the cover and grabbed a thick wool blanket. He then swiftly kicked the cover shut and looked at the shelves to see if there was any pillows or cushions around. After a minute of intensive research, he finally found one. It was a bit old, but it will do for now. He then returned to the room and handed the pillow to the woman, placing the blanket on the foot of the bed.

Ah, there it was! The plant was curled round the trunk of the tree. It had clusters of tiny white flowers. Amalia took a handful of the leaves. She glanced up at the sun. A few hours yet were remaining before she'd perform.
She walked back at a brisk pace. 'Which room is she in?' she asked the bartender.

The Crested Griffin...hm.

As soon as the young man left the room she plopped her belongings on the ground near the edge of the bed. She swung her legs up onto the bed and laid back, trying to catch her breath.

Nice first impression Siranne. *breath* You're doin' a bang up job.

She turned and lay on her stomach, using the arm closest to the door to reach for her coin pouch...which should've been on the side of the bag facing the bed, but not to worry, that only meant that it was on the other...but it wasn't there either.

Suddenly hit with that jolt of energy and panic one gets when they realize the currency they've worked so hard for is not where they put it, Sirrane yanked the bag from off the floor and nearly tore off the flap that kept the top of the bag closed.

Where is it where is it WHERE IS IT. After shuffling through her things a third time, Sirrane simply flipped the bag from the bottom and poured everything from it onto the floor, to begin the task of scouring the mound of her things for her pouch.

Oh GODS it's not here?! Please of PLEASE don't tell me it's not...wait...that blue velvet...
As soon as she touched it, it was as if her body had been awash with a healing that could only have been divine. She snatched the pouch and held it in the air above her head with both hands.

"EUREKA!"

It was then that she realized the young man had appeared in the doorway, no doubt giving a rather perplexed look as he handed her a pillow. She fumbled to her feet, more out of embarrassment than the leftover sickness she was still feeling.

"Aha...ha ha ha...ahem. Uhm. I...uh. Found m-my purse. Thought for sure I lost it. Heh." She reached into the pouch and handed him the 100 silver, and took the pillow. She glanced around at her various clothes and toiletries scattered about the room.

Smooth.

"I'll...I'll pick that up, I promise. T-Thank you, very much. I sincerely appreciate it...uhm. What is your name, sir? Ire-something?"

"Oh, you shouldn't have worried about that now," Iregi said, still taking he offered money and putting it in one of his pockets for now. "It's Iregi, pleasure to meet you," he added, bowing lightly. "I'll bring that money to my brother, and once you feel better, we'll get you a better room," the young man said, pointing toward the ceiling to show the real rooms on the floor above. Not that this room was really bad, but it was mainly made for the inn workers who needed a rest, and thus lack some of the commodities customers appreciated.

"Well, I think you'd better laying down and trying to rest for now. If you need anything..." Iregi stopped in the middle of his sentence, realizing that if the main room got crowded, they wouldn't hear the woman unless she yelled. "Wait a sec... ah, here it is!" he said, picking a bell out of his pocket and handing it to the woman. He normally used it to distracted foes when he was doing quests and he knew the sound could easily be differentiated from the common noises of the inn. "So, I'll let you rest for now. I think Wachiru was preparing some soup or something, so he'll probably bring that soon. And if you need anything, just ring." He smiled at the woman and exited the door, closing the door gently behind him.

Wachiru had put some soup to heat, however it would still take a few minutes to be hot enough to serve. With a shrug, he returned to the main room. Just as he arrived, Amalia came back from whatever she was doing. "Second door to your left," he answered, pointing toward the hall behind him. Though he usually didn't allow customers in that part of the inn, he figured the woman had something in mind, seeing the strange leaves in her hands. "Just tell me if you need anything," he added as she passed nearby. Not long after, Iregi came back. Both men took their usual places at the bar and waited for news.

"Ah, that was the name. Thank you Iregi. Oh..." Sirrane took the bell, nodded, and gave another thank you. She watched Iregi leave.

Iregi and Wachiru...nice people.

After setting the bell on the bed, she proceeded to clean up the mess she had made. As she cleaned she began to feel the crash of the previous surge of energy.

"*Sigh* I really need to tone it down...probably why I got so sick in the first place." After packing everything away in it's proper place, she pulled out a chemise. It was her mother's when she was a child, and she had passed it on to her when she was about 12 or 13. It was at her ankles when she first received it, now it only reached mid-knee; it was white with red embroidery at the top. It used to have matching embroidery lining the scrunched bottom, but due to Sirrane's unwillingness to buy more sleepwear, it had been worn through and reduced to mostly remnants of red strings as she got older. As she undressed, she recalled the woman who briskly left as she came in.

I wonder where she went off to in such a hurry...oh well. Sirrane set her clothes on the bureau, and got in the bed. It was nice and soft, and the blankets were warm. here was a strange familiar comfort to the room, despite the fact that she had never even been in this neck of the words before.

I guess that's just what happens when you grow up in a tavern or inn...all the good ones remind you of home. She soon dozed off.
