I'm new. c: Call me Arabesque (or any nickname you can make out of it).

Not to forums in general, but certainly to this site. The art is fantastic, by the way~ What is the userbase like? Is it active? Are there tons of roleplayers?

its still a small community here, but the people here are friendly and love to chat, so you should feel at home quickly haha, i know i did when i joined anyway ^^ and there is a roleplay section and a special roleplay in the lotus festival subforum, if you join in that one you can win points and get prizes when the event is over

The userbase is generally a bit older than on other avatar site, or so it was for a while. It's full of friendly people too, which is always good.
Mido is not the most active site, normally at least. There's an event right now, so a lot of people are on and post a lot. Though, since we are a small community, there's some dead space sometime. But not a lot, thanks to all the new members ^^
So you like to role-play? *hugs* We don't have that many role-players, but we are a nice bunch. Just browse the forum and see if there's any you like, or check the guild (linked on my profile).

@Maeve: So you roleplay? :0 What, may I ask? Also, what is the ratio of "literates" to "non-literates" on this site? I assume that since the userbase is older, the writers here will be more experienced...

Lots of things, but mostly fantasy things now. Midorea would need other kind of games though.

Almost everything is semi-literate right now, at least to my tastes. I haven't seen any really illiterate people, though since there isn't any real literate games either, most people just stick to semi-literate writing.

Welcome! We have a friendly and literate userbase. :3 The worst I ever see with illiteracy (if it can even be called that) is semi-literate. No 1337 $p34|{. XD

I run the event roleplay. :3 You can enter and get the chance to win some of the current event items, exclusive past event items, and some other things.

@Chu: I've been reading over the event roleplay, too. c: Do sense a desperate need for male characters? It seems as if there's a bit of a disparity.. I haven't finished reading all of the posts in it, by the way. Where is everyone?

It's not a really strict role-play, so people are just wandering around and doing what they find to do (can be lots of things if you have some imagination).
Most people are probably hanging out around lotus trees right now, though I haven't read all the posts yet...
