Now let's see if I can answer some of your questions. 
1° You can earn money (silver) by posting in the forum and/or battling. Although I'm not sure what you mean when you say you can't fight 
There's also two other currencies here: gold (what you'll get if you donate real money to the site; used to buy special monthly-ish items) and copper (gain in some forums were the rules are less strict; used to buy cheap stuff, or can be converted to silver here).
2° Well, your avatar starts with basic skin colors, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, 1 haircut in all colors, and some loinclothes and underwear (not great, I know, but it's a start). They should appear in the top and bottom tabs of your avatar page (and under top/bottom for the underwear).
You can check MAD to see most of the items available on Midorea, and where to get them and their price. There are some pricey and rare items, but the majority of items are still affordable if you post and/or battle often. Or at least enough of them are to be able to make a good looking avatar.
3° I've never trained. As far as I know, it's kinda useless. I mean, you can do it if you want, but it's certainly not required and doesn't even seem that helpful/useful. Your best bet is to buy a volleyball and go punch some critters in the battle system until you level up (just remember to run from adult dragons). When you have enough money, I'd suggest buying a better weapon and repairing it with a super repair hammer or something like that. Your stats will get better as you level up. Forging is the only useful skill and it'll grow when you repair your weapon(s).
