I know that roleplaying goes on here, but I guess this community is several things.
A roleplay community...
an avatar community...
and you can also battle.
But I don't think many people do PvP, because someone is going to end up dying, and that person has to use silver to restore their life and health...
when instead, battling the monsters... you have a good chance of killing them. ^^
But yeah, the site is whatever you want it to be.
If you like the roleplaying part most of all, you can spend most of your time there, and same with chatting and getting to know others, or dressing up an avi, or battling.

The site is mainly an avatar forum, with a battle system attached to it. We do have a role-play section though (a.k.a the Theatre), and feel free to come chat in our little guild if you want (linked in my signature).

I was trying to finish one of the Event Quests for slaying a boar for...Shota, is it? but couldn't find where I could do that. D:

If you "Head to Battle Arena" and then click "Monster Battles," you should be matched up against a monster. You might have to fight a few monsters before you find a boar, and you have to kill 4 boars for Shota. Make sure you have a weapon before you go! I suggest a volleyball, because they're cheap and effective. I usually carry a few with me since they break after 150 uses.

Click on "monster battles", and if you are lucky, you'll meet a boar. If not... well, there are rats and copperheads around, but sooner or later you should find some boars.
Just be sure to have a weapon, and maybe some potions, before you head to battle.

I just noticed it! Thank you guys! Um..I bought the Butcher's Knife and don't have any armour or shields or anything since I'm dirt poor. Do I need all that to not risk becoming some monster's lunch? D:

Nope, armors are useless.

I'd suggest you check the Newcomers Help Center for more info about the battle system. I tried to put all the tips I'd gathered in it.
