Hm, maybe this thread could help you. Or this one.

But basically, just post in the forums, or battle monsters in the battle system, to get silver, then spend it on items for your avatar.
Oh, speaking of items, here's the MAD, so you can find things you like and try them on.

im mostly confuse about how im supposed to kill these "fire dragons"?

You'll need to level up before you can kill any. The fire dragons just show up once you reach level 5 (earth dragons start appearing at level 3, and ice ones at level 4).
They're pretty much like everything else in the battle system, you just hit them until they die.
Well, they're way stronger than the other monsters of their level, so remember to heal often and keep a few healing potions with you.

I'm a few days old myself and it didn't take long to get used to things.
You just have to read a few guides and you should be good. ^^

Welcome! I played Roliana before, but it was forever ago. Like Soleil, I joined pretty recently but I found that it was easy to get the hang of things here.
