So before I choose a race for my character...

I have a few questions...

Once I choose a race, is it permanaent, or is there a way I can change it later or anytime I want?
Also, is there anywhere where I can read up on the races so I can choose better? Besides the one line descriptions that they give you if you click on "learn more about this race" or whatever when you go to the character creator. I'd like to know more about the race I'm going to choose. oo;
Same questions for the elements I suppose.
I've wandered around a bit looking for these things but haven't been able to find anything. If I've simply overlooked them, I apologize... and would appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of this info.

Once you choose your race, it will permanently affect your character. However, nothing forbids you from recreating (well, deleting and recreating) your character later on, and then you'll be able to choose a new race for it. There are some more info about the races on the story page, although it has not been updated in years and is still pretty vague for some.

The elements only affect your skills, so there's not much more to know about them. Some people believe that some elements are stronger or weaker against certain monsters, which has been proven for weapons, but not for characters themselves, at least to my knowledge.
