DDO, for those that don't know, stands for
Dungeons and Dragons Online.

There are two different versions of the game. The Standard Definition version
(SD),
and the High Definition version
(HD). Obviously the Higher Def version is a bigger download.
It's free to play, but they use something called Turbine points to use in the DDO Store
to buy different things, like Stat Buffs, Armor, Weapons, and more.
You can purchase these points right from the DDO Store too.
They make it really easy to accept your money. LOL!

If you want to check it out, just click here.

...am I allowed to post now?

And if I am, I must say, I've never played DDO, but I do play D&D Tabletop. My level 15 Bard was pretty amazing, though! And I'm trying to craft a campaign for DMing.

I've played D&D tabletop, but I have no group to play with right now, so this game is the closest thing I can get to playing D&D. It's really cool, you should join, it's free and you could make your Bard again, and level them up. I've only ever tried DMing once, and it was horrible. We were all tired, and I was making it up as I went along. I still have my dice too. I miss rolling them. *Goes to the corner and rolls some dice.*

I've been working on this campaign for almost a year now, and I always have trouble with downloading online games. They make this computer really slow.
I do miss rolling my dice, though. That's why I would bring them to work at the Preschool. We'd play The Dice Game, where I'd roll a die and the kid would tell me the number I rolled.

A year, eh? It sounds like you're having a little trouble then. Are you? That sucks about the online games, I'm guessing it's a slow computer then, or is it a slow connection speed?

That sounds so cute, them telling you the numbers.

Do you have a group to play your campaign with, or no?

    /squeals gayly

Oh! Stop! You're going to make me want to play DDO again, and I'm not terribly good at it

    xD

I would LOVE to play tabletop, but I've got no one to teach me, and to play with :c The nearest person I know who plays is about five hours away, in Canada :c

This is my character, and some art I got for her n_n

What do you mean by not terribly good at it?
What world/server did you play on?

Oh, goodness. I can't remember right now. I'd have to redownload (or wait to get my laptop back and see if I still have it on there) and then let you know.

I've got a terrible memory for things like that xD

Also, I suck at games xD I love them, but I'm no good :c

Yep! I have a group of friends that are interested in playing, because they would hear all of my campaign stories and want to have some of their own.

And the reason it's taking so long is because I keep getting writer's block. I have point A and point B, but I'm still figuring out how to get the storyline to move between those two points. I do feel real good right now, because I only have one more continent to develop and then I'll have a better idea storyline-wise!

@ Squid: Well, then I guess I'll have to wait for the answer. LOL. You could re-download it, if you wanted to. I'm on Sarlona with Crystal Memories, btw.

@ Keylaleigh: You should download it too, and play with us sometime. That sucks about your writer's block. I hate when I have that, like for writing an essay or something, cause I suck at writing anyways. I've tried to think of campaign ideas, but nothing really comes to me either. I would try and help though, if you need it. I may come up with something sometime. Sweat

What do you do to develop a continent, just the landscape and the monsters there, or what. I always get confused about all that. I mostly just like to play and that's all. Sweat

With continent design, the best thing to do is start by drawing a land mass and figuring out the general terrain. What terrains you choose basically determine the monsters in the area. For example, you wouldn't find Winter Wolves in the middle of a warm desert terrain, and Mummies aren't the type to be inhabiting a cold forest.

After that I determine the races that populate the continent and what religions are the most prevalent. For example, there really wouldn't be Dwarven or Halfling gods on a continent populated by humans and Elves. Once that is figured, I start creating a capitol city and government that basically define the continent. My cold northern continent's capitol is a walled fortress run by a Theocracy. They believe that the constant worshipping of their god will keep them safe from the dangers of the outside wilderness.

When the capitol city is done, then I work out a few other important towns. A few good examples include:
-A military town
-An arts center
-A port town

The process takes a while, but it's so rewarding when you actually finish!
