Uncharted Islands dot globe in this uncharted world. Not many people know this world actually exists. And definetly not this little island that we're talking about.
Lantern Island, a rather biggish island but rather smallish compared to the others. but back onto the topic.
Latern Island is a mostly a large circular plain. On the edge of the island you would find mostly beaches and hilly landscapes with meadows where fishing towns and sea ports are nestled. Go north and farmlands will greet you along with groves of trees and orchards.
Sounds like a pretty good place to live eh?
Well, lets carry on with the description now shall we?
In the center of the island. It is very different from the restof the island. An area of dark soiled ground fenced around is an outcropping of rocks with thorn and spikes. Then, a most mysterious thing.
A tall mountain. taller than that of what we know as mount Everest sits the very center of the island.
On top of the mountain is the Lantern Tree. A tree of huge proportions and it glows.
You, are one of the few who know this place, in fact you live in that very world.
This tree you can say is the very center, keeper of this world.
It may bless the land and it may also curse.
You can't leave this island. That is the contract that binds you to this smalltime life of prosperity, health, and fruitful labour.
You also can't go up to the tree. That is like challenging the gods themselves.
The tree also has a sense of justice and rules so you better follow them.
Consequences await those who break the rules of a god.
