Yeah, D-tails are magnets to anyone who doesn't have much worth on Gaia lol. It is a nice item, but it bugs me because there isn't much that matches it It's like a brownish-black

It's amazing how so many people on the site don't know what items are out there. In a way, guess that's one of the lures of the ports, eh? To have an item that so many people don't even know exists. The rose would have the same appeal. I never knew many people outside the Exchange that knew what the corsage was.

heh sadly, I think you're right about the monthly collectibles. I have a strong attachment to them because when I was an Exchanger, I strictly dealt with them. That was back when I was hardcore into the site and played wayyyy too much @_@

Gah, so many artists are switching over to taking real money for their art. Kinda takes something away from the art community there. I always thought how fantastic it was to get such amazing works for simple Gaia gold Guess artists are wising up and realizing Gaia gold is soooo much crappier than money rofl. I run a few little businesses in real life and would actually commission people to make logos and things of that sort for me in exchange for Gaia gold. It was really an amazing deal for me because hiring someone to do that in real life would cost a few hundred dollars Of course, I paid them well... on Gaia ... for the work and they understood what I was using the art for. I wonder if Gaia has changed so much that you can't do anything like that anymore...

I know! I'm a non exchanger though. It's never been my secene, i've allways lived in the minishops. But it's amazing how few people realise the ports, corsage and bow-tie even exist! It's great. 8D

They're awsome items i love and i don't have to worry about being harrassed when i wear them. What's not to like?

A great example of that is my friend Rat, he allways wears his ports, nm scarf and d-tail (among other things) and when i commented on his ports awhile after i'd met him he goggled at me. Turns out i was the ONLY person to ever comment on his ports. Everyone else commented on the tail or scarf, dispite the fact the ports are worth more then 3x the scarf and tail combined. xD;;

I allways found that funny.

My favourite artists were never on gaia. So that's not an issue for me. xD;; But i know where your coming from. It's still possible to get awsome art in the r&c though, just be prepared to spend alot of money. Your still allowed to do that aslong as the artist in question agrees so it's all good. : ) <3

@heyy - Yeah, I got tired of that a while back. I NEVER wear '03 items anymore. Too many people trying to take advantage of me. And since my home forums are the Exchange and Charity forum, I was always a target for beggars I've managed to make some good avatars with that limitation still, so no biggy ^^

Well, the fact that it's a devil tail is cool to me, but... it just doesn't match anything.... and that has always bugged me I've only worn my devil tail once... for like a week. It has just collected dust in my invo. I'd sell it if I wasn't so obsessed with collecting items rofl.

I don't blame you for veering away from the Exchange. People, for the most part, as complete jack asses there I only hang around for the couple of really cool people there heh. But yeah, it really is amazing. Of course, the poor bow-tie is about the most pointless expensive item in existence There's at least 2 other black ties. Even to this day, I can't tell if someone is wearing the expensive one or the 25 gold one rofl.

hahahaha wow.... that's amazing about Rat I spend so much time in the Exchange, I'm used to people knowing about items. Though I was aware that the majority of Gaia is oblivious to anything pre 2004, it's still a bit trippy to hear your stories

I've always had a rule not to spend more than 500k on any piece of art. I've broken it twice, but those were auctions, so it was kinda necessary But I've found that if you keep an eye out, you can catch "new" artists in the R&C forum who do excellent art for really cheap.

That really sucks. xP Atleast i live in the r&c where obsessive spending of lots of money is the norm not the exception. It's the only forum on gaia (except possibly the exchange) where people will go "OH WOW! Only 200k! That's so cheap! Lemme fill out a form..."

But then we're all pretty broke because we spend all our money on art off eachother. xD;;

The other things that amuse me are people with glitched to look rich after they sold all their stuff to leave gaia avis who get hacked. (after all the stuff is gone) That just amuses me. xD

Yeah, well the exchange is the exception. People in there know everything and try to rip you off on everything too.

I'm the same, but i've also broken it a handful of times. Unfortunatly all of said art was lost in the great computer death of '08. D: < I don't spend that much money on individual peices anymore. The most expensive commish i have currently open is a 300k headshot from i forget her name which is going to be fucking awsome. <3 She's really amazing.

Yeah! I know lots of people who do that. But i'm not one myself, i like to give people what i think their art is worth. :3 I just give a huge tip in those cases.

Nice. I moved on from neopets afew months after i found gaia. It was getting really comercialised and it was really bothering me at the time. The transition was made pretty seamlessly and i've never really looked back. *shrugs* : )

I don't really remember how my transition went. XD I just know that it still bothers me to this day that I wasted so much time on Neo, and those items are rotting in my invo and SDB, but I'm too sentimental to sell/give them away.

I'm from Jan/Feb of 06 on my original account on gaia, didn't follow rules strictly (or didn't read them enough) and got banned then started from scratch in late 2007, and got lucky on some Fortune Eggs... I had donated for fortune eggs from gaia, leveled them as many as I could to 2nd or 3rd level, sold them, bought a 5th Level Fortune Egg from marketplace, it was a 5 mil mythril coin, got hooked bought another, it was McCracken, bought another, it was this:

Sorry it wouldn't be believable if it wasn't seen, though maybe I should have thought of making a screenshot when it happened (last thing on my mind at that moment) so that it could actually be really confirmed.

From the sale of the Chickies I gave an AFK to a friend and the rest of the stuff bartered with and gave "relatively" small gifts out to my friends and had 40 mil in worth when I gave up on gaia because of its commercialism and instability in my viewpoint at the time, auctioned on 5 minute auctions huge stuff and sold smaller stuff at 1g each, had from the auctions and stuff 10 mil I gave to my friend Binary's halo quest (he's dedicated but way short) and that's about the end of my gaia story.
