Wing layering suggestion/complaint

So, wings are - always have been, always will be - a very popular item. I love them. You love them. We all love them.

But there is some... inconvience, I have found, regarding the layering of the wings. As I go through and try to explain, keep in mind, obviously, I can only use the wings in my inventory as an example, but it extends further than this, of course.

So. Wings. Layers.

Wings have three possible layers - wings, back, back 2. For the most part, despite what you may think, the wings are all on the back layer. Of the five wings I own, three of them are on the back. One each for wings and back 2.

Now, ignoring completely right now that the wings on the actual wing layer is ONLY the left wing... I think it would a lot nicer - if it were possible - to move some more (whole sets) of wings to the other layers.

For example, to put BOTH of the lower deity wings on the wing layer, and then putting another pair or two up there... Why, that's some more wings we can wear at the same time. Maybe dictating a size for each layer... Like, the large wings (deity/lower deity/fallen deity wings) could go on the wing layer, the medium sized wings (like the turkey wings, baby dragon wings, small deity wings) could go on the back layer and the small wings (cherub fruit, ice crystal wings) could go on the back 2...

I like that idea more.. I mean, I like the way the wings are set up now, but as Squid said in another thread, I can't wear my cute little curib wings with my all time favorite wings, the Small Deity Wings Green. Because they are the same layer.. And I think it would look smashingly sexy if I could wear the Fallen wings, with the small green deity wings and my hot pink curib wings all on one avatar...

Might make it hard to fly that way, but fashion does come at a cost!

I remember that there were some layering issues with the Lower Deity Wings before, but were fixed by creating a whole new layer in its entirety, being the wings layer. I don't know very much about the layering system, but it seems like they may be one of the only pairs to fit on that particular layer without issues. However, I may be wrong. I do know that with the way those wings are designed, it would mess up the layering even more to have them both on the same layer. <--- I hope that made sense...?

However I do agree that a more flexible layering system would be appreciated for the wings. :] I know I'd love to see new combinations; such as Cherubs with the Small Deities, and as far as I know, it wouldn't be terribly hard to add the same image to another layer, and keep the previous there as well.

Like I said, I would love to see some new combos. Or make "glitches" witht he clothing. Like on.. Menewsha, when you wore certain items with the morning dreams gowns and it would turn them blue or pink!

Anyway; I didn't know about any drama with the lower deity wings, so... yeah. I just thought it was hella frustrating to FINALLY get these wings and... I can't wear any other wings I own with BOTH of them equipped.

And Kira Bella, I agree with COMPLETELY about the small green deity wings and cherub wings. I want to wear them BOTH because they match my colors!

Well, I have the ice wings on right now. They're a little hard to see, since they kind of blend in with the tree... But they're there. But I wouldn't mind giving them up so that I could wear the cherub wings.

I can't explain my infatuation with this color combo, but it will not go away. I LOVE IT.

Chu's got it right. There wasn't a Wings layer, so there were issues with equipping the second half of the Lower Deity Wings and having them make coats, shirts, weapons, etc. look messed up.

So the Wings layer was made kinda' just for them to work. XD


Layering systems are very... delicate. You can't have too many layers, cuz' the list just gets too long, but people always want more and more. Cat kinda' just has to pick and choose which she sees as being truly yearned for, necessary, etc.

True, more wing equip options would be very nice, but... it's just not feasible right now. D:


Hopefully we'll have lots more layering options if Cat makes a new system, though for now, I think we'll have to make do. D:

My personal desire for this isn't even for a new layer to be made; merely for the Cherubs to be slapped onto the Back 2 layer while staying on the current one as well. It would be just the same as the Fallen Deities.
