| Oh, man, I can't even tell you guys how much I love 60's/70's Era music. Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane... It's all great.
Am I the only one? What are your favorite songs/artists from the 60's/70's?

| I'm more into the clothe style of the 60's and 70's so I don't know many artists or anything, but I do like a lot of the music nonetheless. Any good artists that you could suggest to me?

| Oh, the clothing styles are cool, too. LOL! xD Psychedelic drug-induced color schemes and afros ftw.
Anyway, yeah, Jefferson Airplane and Janis Joplin are sweet. They're probably the biggest names from the hippie era, but for good reason. I would suggest White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane. It's a great song. So trippy. My friends listen to it when they're high. /shrug

| I love the Beatles. I have since I was a kid. Grew up on them with my mom being a huge fan. I also like Blondie, the Sex Pistols, The Cure, Carol King, James Taylor, and a ton of others. A lot of good music started in the 60s and 70s. The birth of punk! You can't ignore that musical revolution.

| Never heard of The Doors? Jim Morrison? That's crazy! I bet you've heard The Doors, you just didn't realize that they were who you were listening to.
Hello, I Love You
Break On Through (To The Other Side)
Light My Fire
In The Midnight Hour
They're amazing along with so many other artists from the 60's and 70's.

Actually, a friend of mine was talking to me about this type of music and he told me to listen to some stuff by the Doors. I actually looked through my Winamp playlist and found some stuff by them, haha.

| I love that whole country inspired rock from the 70's like America and The Eagles. America seems to me a lot more original than The Eagles in hindsight, but the Eagles at least had Joe Walsh. Heck, Joe Walsh was really good in the 70's too. (Life's Been Good, Life of Illusion)
Punk doesn't seem so exciting to me now, but it was a very necessary thing to happen for music and culture.
I really love Roxy Music from the 70's also. They were part of the whole glam thing, but now they kind of can stand on their own. They just had a whole other style.
I can't really think of anything I like enough from the 60's. I remember having a Bubble Puppy single. Harry Nilsson, maybe. And I kind of liked The Left Banke (Walk Away Renee, Pretty Ballerina), but not really THAT much. The Beach Boys were good, but dated, Psychedlics were pretty cool but mostly you have to think of things like Motown, which for the most part were pretty basic and recreatable today. The Beatles were huge, but they mostly were great songwriters that used other peoples innovations. There's not one kind of music that you can say the Beatles invented.

| My mom recently went and bought a CD of The Four Season's music and ever since then she's been hooked on listening to 60's music. XD She's been looking up all these songs and videos on Youtube. I've ended up helping her find some songs and put some stuff on her iPod for her, and I may end up putting some of the stuff on my iPod as well since I've found I like some of the songs. I already knew a few of these songs since they are such well known songs you still hear them being played sometimes, but there are some I hadn't heard before. I was kind of planning to put a bunch of older songs on my iPod anyways, though mainly 80's stuff. I've always kind of liked the stuff from the 80's.
