| Life's had it's issues, family member unexpectedly died over my winter break and that was really hard, but school's been going wonderfully and I now have a wonderful boyfriend, so that's been a good balance ^^
I just applied for nursing school, so we'll see how that goes.
Oh wow, when are you moving out? I'm happy to hear that things are moving up for you c:
Are you thinking about staying in the same area or moving farther away?

| I've decided to start something new in my thread. I want to encourage posting and especially conversation in my thread, by every and anyone. But it helps to have things to talk about! SO I now am creating Topics of Discussion (TOD). Doesn't mean that the conversations can only be about it, I don't care if you ignore it's existence or solely discuss it! I'm basically going to point out things that I see on the internet or hear on TV every once in a while, ramble about it for a little bit, and post it. I'd love to hear back from you guys what you think, and if you have nothing to say about it, then just say hi! c:

Rihanna's Dress
While it may seem trivial, I'm not bringing this up because I love her fashion (Though I may talk about fashion at some point, I like pretty clothes after all). I bring this up because I just saw this today with my mom and talked with her about it. I saw it on the show "Fashion Police", and the cast said that only Rihanna could pull this dress off without being whore-y. How do you all fell about that?
Honestly? I hate the dress, and I hate that she wore it. Granted, she is a mature woman that can wear whatever she pleases, but there are so many teenage girls that mimic her style, and I'd hate to see nudity come into fashion. Rihanna is a role model to some girls, and I can't help but wonder what those girls will think when they see this dress. Will they want to wear it because their icon does? Or will they realize that this dress is only receiving praise because of who is wearing it? It fits Rihanna's style as a celebrity, and if anyone who wasn't A-list tried to wear that, they wouldn't be reviving the same praise.
What do you think?

| I know, but it irritates me when celebrities reach such a status that they are perfect and can do no wrong. The dress is a beautiful piece of work, and would have been just as beautiful with a lining.
And you heard from me more than most people on Mido! And yet you still ignore my texts :P

| hum, I guess here's as good a place to start talking as any? I'm so bad at jumping into discussions on forums, oh my god.
I love fashion but I find it hard to form opinions beyond 'man that's pretty' for things like this since I'm sort of completely disconnected from pop culture.

| Psh, it's always uncomfortable to first jump into a certain thread, but it gets easier every time ;D
Understandably. Obviously, this wouldn't affect you as much as someone who is more connected to pop culture, because they would see this more, but could you imagine this style, if it became popular, influencing the dressing habits of people? Or do you think that people aren't as impressible as many like to think by what people on TV do?
