| "The Major is right there," Skaeth nodded toward the naga. "And she would probably respect your thoughts if you directed them towards her. I don't mean to be rude, but she is here to collect a ghost and as we are her help, she will do her best to keep us alive, so I would trust her more. She deserves that."
They didn't know why, but they felt somewhat protective of their kin. Skaeth never had much in the way of family values, but with everything going on, it was important for them to stick to someone.
"Don't worry so much, worst that happens is you die, it's not so bad," they shrugged before hovering off ahead.

| Had she had any less discipline, Morinth would have rolled her eyes. They were talking about her…when not even ten feet away…and she was already trying to listen for the sound of dwarven activities. She chose not to comment on their views, instead staring forward into the tunnel.
*scccrape*
The naga froze, gesturing sharply at the group whispering behind her to fall silent. Her eyes jumped around the tunnel. No scrapings on the floor; not a well-traveled path. No chunks out of the walls; not a place avoided for superstitious reasons. Just a tunnel that dwarves didn’t bother going down. If that scrape was a dwarf, and Morinth had to assume it was, then they were following her little party, drawn by the scream.
Greyscale beckoned O’Toole over silently. Elven eyes were much more suited to the dark than naga, human, or troll eyes, and so he’d be able to discern the most.
“Down there,” she whispered as loudly as she felt comfortable (which was still very, very quiet), and nodding behind them, “Can you see shadows where there shouldn’t be any? As in…there’s nothing to cast it?”

| Relgan was deep in thought when the Major called him over. No particular thoughts, just a general cloud of 'what if'. He looked down the hallway that was nodded towards and squinted. Yes, his eyes were more accustomed to the darkness than anyone else in this particular group, but his were never the best.
"I see..." he mirrored the whispering of the Major. "I see..." He blinked quickly, rubbed his eyes, and looked again. "Now that you mention it, I do see something odd. Small shadows, not from any of the rock formations or any other thing nearby. Is that what you are looking for?" He took a few steps back, in case the answer was one he did not want to hear.

| Though it had been five years since death, Skaeth sometimes became nervous by the bumps in the night. In fact, they felt that they had better reason than anyone else, they knew exactly what bumps in the night could do. They nervously scratched at the stab wound right below their fin at the back of their head.
"Not super liking this..." they muttered.

| Morinth grabbed O’Toole by the upper arm, guiding him closer, thinking about his response. As she was staring down the tunnel, Morinth saw a tiny flick of movement, and something came sailing down the tunnel.
The explosion rocked the tunnel before Morinth could yank O’Toole away. The elf took most of the shrapnel, but the wave of force sent both of them flying backward into the rest of the group. With the screech of nails on chalk, two dwarves melted out of the rock and pelted forward, wielding rough-hewn stone clubs.
Morinth shook her head, her ears only registering a loud ringing, as she picked herself up. Her hands, out of habit, loaded her gauntlet and despite the fact that she was wavering on her feet, a knife leapt from the gauntlet to take one of the dwarves in the hand, forcing him (or her, impossible to tell) to drop the club with a loud clatter. She took half a second to glance down at O’Toole, blood pouring down one side of his face but awake and breathing, then staggered forward, drawing her long dagger.
One of the dwarves went straight for Kruth’al, sensing danger from the largest member, swinging a club at the troll’s chest. The other felt magic and swung a fist (his club had been knocked form his hand by a launched knife) at Tay’s head.

| Ava yelped as soon as she heard the explosion and pushed herself out of Kruth'al's arms and onto the ground with a thump. She scrambled to the wall, wide eyed and scared. She could just make out everyone's figures, but it was difficult. She flashed her flashlight in Kruth'al's direction, straight into the eyes of his attacker.
"WATCH OUT!" she screamed, dropping the flashlight, terrified of the creature she had seen. It rolled across the floor and illuminated the Major and the Elf.
Trying as hard as she could she squeezed her eyes shut and attempted to calm everyone in the vicinity. She wasn't good enough to focus her magic to just one or two people, so she just let her magic illuminate outward affecting anyone or thing.

| Ouch.
Relgan was a combination of stunned and in pain. At that moment, all he knew is that he was having a really hard time seeing out of his. He expected to be completely in shock and panic from the sudden blow, but for some reason he was a little more with it and could actually keep his mental bearings quite well. After another moment, he took his hand off of the side of his face that had been hit. It was completely covered in blood. The blood he expected. He didn't expect, however, to only see it out of one eye. When he reached up to rub it to hopefully get whatever was in it out for better vision, he had no luck. When the fray was done and over with, he would take a closer check.
Shakily, he tried to rise to his feet, but his body wouldn't allow him.

| Kruth'al saw the explosion in slow motion infront of him and feeling Ava dive off of him he but his hands infron of his face. He managed to get his hands in front of his face just before some miscellaneous shrapnel hit his arm. That would have hurt going into his face and he was sorry if it did.
Slight panic was about to set in, until he felt a calming effect. Kruth'al was about to wonder how, when he heard Ava scream.
"WATCH OUT!"
Kruth'al looked at where she had pointed her flashlight beam, and saw a rock creature, which he assumed was a dwarf, running at him.
Kruth'al caught the dwarf as he was charging, using the dwarf's momentum, swinging the dwarf's head into the wall behind him as hard as he could.

| Skaeth remembered wind, remembered what it felt like to feel. When the blast went off, their only regret was not being able to feel it. A couple of dwarfs rushed past. It was when they let their dark eyes wander that they saw the elf and naga covered in shrapnel.
A little further down the cave, they saw the small one fly out of the trolls hands and throw some magic around. "No, not like that..." Skaeth let out a panic whisper. She was stronger than she thought, but had no clue what she was controlling.
The ghost hurried over to the girl and keeled down beside her, "focus it. Don't let it drive you. Push down your fear and control yourself." They whispered to her.

| Tay was caught off-guard for the chaos around her, but working around drunks and her father's biker gang had prepared her for certain things. Things like something coming swiftly flying towards her head.
She ducked and in the same motion, pulled her machete from it's scabbard, swinging it towards the dwarf's middle. It didn't seem to effect it much and she ducked as another fist came towards her head.
Tay did a quick inventory. The ghost was with Ava, Kruth'al was fighting, as was the major. The elf. Where was the elf?
Scrambling for the lantern she'd dropped and avoiding more of the dwarf's blows, Tay illuminated the ground around her. The light caught on the blood dripping from Relgan's face.
She yelped and jumped back as the dwarf aimed a kick at her shin while she was distracted. "Hey, that was uncalled for," she protested. He or she drew back to land another punch and she quickly sidestepped and it slammed into the wall. She laughed, probably inappropriately given the situation.
Tay hurried to the elf's side while the dwarf was considerably distracted. "Hey, fancy-pants, how you doing?"

| Nami had been knocked into the wall of the tunnel by the blast. She shook her head and swung her flashlight around towards everyone else trying to take careful note of where they all were and if any were hurt. In doing this she noticed the dwarves one was fighting Kruth'al the other was after Tay. Nami drew her dagger preparing herself if the fight came her way but otherwise decided attacking wouldn't be in her best interests.

| Relgan looked up at who was talking to him with his good eye. "I'll be up in a bit. Just a little lightheaded, and I can't quite see out of my right eye." He pointed at the bloody side of his face. Relgan took no offense at being called Fancy-Pants, as a lot of the old members of the guild he worked alongside with gave him the exact same moniker.
After a few deep breaths, he finally made it to his feet and drew his sword. He was up. Now to stop relying on the wall as a leaning post. At least he was ready to defend himself if something came his way.

| Kruth'al, severly underestimating the dwarf's weight and impetus, doesn't...exactly toss the dwarf into the adjacent wall. In the attempt to grab the dwarf's arm, the troll manages to get out of the way of the club, but the dwarf continued moving forward, his big, rocky shoulder smashing in Kruth'al's stomach with the force of a cement truck, bowling him over. The dwarf fell onto Kruth'al's chest, already pulling a fist back for a punch to the nose.
The dwarf that Tay tricked into punching the wall was...considerably less distracted than the human assumed, and gave chase. Just before the dwarf caught her in a lethal bear hug, three knives thudded into the side of his head, having been thrown from Morinth's gauntlet.
"I got this one," Morinth announced, pulling her stun gun out, "you lot take the other one." She didn't have time for any further instruction as the well-goaded dwarf charged at her.

| Kruth'al was amazed at how fast and and strong the dwarves were. He was knocked flat on his back, the wind gone from his lungs. He managed to take a breath when a fist came down and struck him in the jaw. THAT FREAKIN HURT.
Kruth'al was enraged at the creature and since his hands were free, he pushed himself off the floor alittle, taking every hit from the dwarf in the process(as well as a black eye), he pulled his hammer off his back.
Bringing his hammer around he smashed it as hard as the little space around him to, into the head of the creature on top of him as many times as he could.

| Ava nodded at the ghost and squeezed her eyes shut even tighter, concentrating hard to focus her energy to every individual rather than letting it roam free in the tunnel. She gritted her teeth and peeked out to see if she was having any affect.
"I don't think it's working" she said in a worried tone, looking up at the ghost.
