You can earn silver by posting in the forums or by battling in the battle system (see the Newcomer's Help Center linked in my signature for more info about battling, and pretty much anything else too). Silver is the main currency used here, but some forum will grant copper instead (can be exchanged for silver), and you can win gold by donating real money to the site (gold is mostly used to buy monthly items and other special things).
