| Ange had run back over the the van at the sound of Leigh calling for her. She had kept her darts at the ready though in case the creatures came out of hiding she knew the muskrat still had to be around. Of course she was completely uncertain but felt better being safe than sorry. "I guess I did good?" She said looking at her Sene's who were both rather worse for wear compared to herself. Logan was completely out of it and Leigh was pretty badly scrapped up. She climbed into the van so they could be on there way to get Logan to the hospital.

| "You did great." He smiled. "Maybe the two of us should take some lessons from you." Leigh chuckled as he drove off to the hospital. He would take care of his own scratches and scrapes later. Logan was in much worse shape than him.
He should have kept his guard up better. How did he slip up so easily? He was better than that. Leigh sighed. He had to block out these voices. Everyone made mistakes on occasion. It had been a while since he had participated in team combat. He turned the radio on to keep his mind off of the subject.
"Ange, check on Logan and make sure he's not being too rattled back there. We don't want to bring him to the hospital with even more problems than he started with." He was going as fast as he could. Fortunately, the hospital was not too far off.

| Nephytis clapped her hands together. "Excellent! Rosie, be a dear, grab the phone and order us all something. The usual for me, and the green curry for Sami. Alix, go ahead with her and pick what you like while I speak with Samantha.
Nephytis took Sami aside, along with the Rosie's phone, shooing the other girls into the kitchen. "Now then my dear. Here is what I'd like for you to do..."
Nephytis explains the plan, and Sami's role in it. In its simplest terms, Nephytis was planning an attack of what would essentially be bio terrorism. Sami, with the dart and new found information regarding the Vilos girl, would befriend the girl at school, observing and studying the girl's aura. using that aura, and the dart previously left at the scene, Sami would then concoct an extract from the Vilos dart, imbuing it with the Vilos resonance. This extract would act as a poison of sorts, set to trigger the release of the energy in every being in the city who has taken even a single bite. At any other time of year, this plan would be quite silly, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner, assuring that there would be at least one pie in every household.
Rosie and Alix would be in charge of planting the extracts in various restaurants and bakeries around town, leaving the dart in the last stop. The Vilos who come across it would find only their resonance on a dart that is clearly one of their own.
As far as collecting all of the energy, that was where Agnes, Jack, and Martha would come in. Agnes would be taught a special method of energy gathering, using her specific talents. She would be placed at the apex of the city, somewhere in Chatreuse Blanc, probably the University. But as of right now, she was not adequately trained, and Martha and Jack would be sent off along with her to the beach house, to train her there. Given the amount of storms lately, the setting there would be more than adequate, and Martha would have plenty water to aid in her training as well.
Rosie and Alix would also aid in gathering the energy, but mostly to send Agnes' way. Once Agnes had enough, and the Vilos showed the final phase of the plan would begin, but Nephytis would not divulge what exactly the final phase was.
"You'll just have to wait and see, now won't you?"
By the time Nephytis is through explaining the plan the food has arrived. During the course of teh meal, she clears up any questions the girls have regarding the plan, before having Bateman and Rosie take Alix and Samantha home. At this point in time, it is nearly 7. Nephytis sees the girls to the car, and shuts the door, lips pursed. She glances at the door to the stairwell which leads to the dungeon and her quarters. After a deep sigh, she stalks toward the door walking right through it, heading downstairs to explain Martha and Jack's part in this plan...and perhaps dole out a little punishment.

| Nephytis strides downstairs into the room where she had dropped Jack and Martha, who are seated on opposite sides of the room, both seething. Upon her entrance Martha stands and opens her mouth to explain, and Nephytis shuts her off with a look.
Nephytis waves both forms from either side of the room to the center in front of her, little black stools popping up underneath the two of them, startling them. Nephytis lets them fidget under her gaze for a little while, before letting Jack explain himself first, knowing that he will tell the truth at this point, given that he's right back where he started. While he clearly embellished certain parts, Nephytis could tell when certain facts rang true as Martha's thin mouth twitched and her fingers gripped the sides of the stool. It was clearly taking every ounce of her being not to jump off of the stool and tear the young man limb from limb. When he finishes, Nephytis looks to Martha and sighs.
"Is this true Martha?"
"Wel--I...*sigh*...yes. Most of it anyway."
"Hm. Well, it goes without saying that I am very disappointed in the both of you. However, the normal punishments aren't going to meet my ends, or help either of you cooperate, but fret not, I've a solution.
You two are taking Agnes to the beach house. You will train her there. Together."
Before either of them have a chance to argue, Nephytis explains the plan to the both of them, and while Jack still sees nothing good coming if this punishment, Martha actually seems a little relieved.
"Now then," Nephytis smiles, clapping her hands together in excitement. "Off you go to pack! You leave in the morning."
Jack predictably stomps out of the room, mumbling and grumbling down the hall, kicking old heavy doors and cursing at the other 'prisoners.' Nephytis merely rolls her eyes and shakes her head, and is about to turn to leave, until she sees Martha still standing there, looking sheepish.
"...Yes?"
"...'m sorry." Her throat was tight, and voice was small and weak. Martha's head hung low. She was ashamed, and she knew she ought to be, given how reckless her actions had been, and all for spite. She suddenly felt a slender hand under her chin, tipping her face up.
Nephytis smiled warmly, a thing she rarely did. She smiled plenty, but it was usually tinged with condescension, spite, derision, or some other negative feeling. But this one was warm, genuine, understanding. "It is quite all right. Believe it or not, i do know how you feel. I...have been in this position before. I am sorry, I got so caught up in Samath-...Sami's training that I was unaware I was doing it to you. You are still my most trusted, talented, intelligent..."
Martha's eyes rolled to the ceiling, mockingly pretending to not hear what Nephytis was saying, as if waiting for something specific.
"Aha...and prettiest, and msot fashionable, and..."
The two of them grin and giggle at each other for a minute or two, before straightening up.
"Ha...now then. RUn upstairs and pack." As she watched Martha's skinny frame lightly jog down the hall and up the stairs, Nephytis thought to herself, You've quite the couple of weeks ahead...

| ~Wednesday, November 4th, Hyacinthe Academy 7:40 a.m.~
It is early morning as Bateman pulls up to the curb at the academy. However, only Rosie steps out, two letters in hand. Excuses written for the other two girls. Agnes' was a fairly routine one; given the nature of her training, Agnes was occasionally edgy, and difficult to control, making school a bit difficult. Nephytis merely covered it up as a heart condition, so that Agnes could remain at home. This letter instead implies that Agnes will be having a procedure done, and will need a few weeks to recover, and to send what schoolwork Agnes will need to have done home with Rosie. The letter for Martha's was a tad trickier for Nephytis, as she was not well-versed in most human sickness; Bateman was actually the one who came up with the heart condition excuse for Agnes. And it was Bateman who came up with the "mono" excuse for Martha, and elected to tell Nephytis that it was "a thing that will keep Martha out of school basically as long as you want," instead of explaining the specifics of it.
As she's walking to the door, Rosie spots Sami out of the corner of her eye girls flocked at every side. But Sami appeared to be half-interested in the fanclub, instead, her eyes were searching....

| Meanwhile, Leigh was sitting in the waiting area of the emergency room as Logan was treated for massive third-degree burns. He had gotten him there as quickly as he possibly could while still obeying traffic laws and he was quickly admitted, and he had been there all night, waiting for his partner to regain consciousness. Today was his day off at the shop, so he wasn't needed around. He called his father to let him know where he was and what he was doing, so the older man did not get too worried.
He had told Ange to go home to get some rest so she could get to school the next morning. Leigh was holding a cup of vending machine coffee, taking the occasional sip as he waited for word from the doctors. Sleep did not come easy in this room, so he stopped trying hours ago. He glanced around at the others there, all for their own reasons, and then he looked over at the fish tank, concentrating on the things inside of it.
Last night was much too close, and he had a feeling that they may have lost that one. Why did she suddenly leave anyways? Leigh shrugged. At the moment, that didn't matter. What mattered now was that his teammate was alright.
He and Ange would most likely be alone for a few nights of training and patrol, but being out one member would really hurt them. The Misus had been more aggressive than ever, and he didn't know if he could handle everything on his own.
He sighed and continued waiting, staring at the fish tank.
--------------------
Meanwhile, Sami was surrounded by her usual entourage at school as they all talked on and on about this and that. She did her best to pay attention, but she had a mission to take care of. Her first big mission. She was confident, but still slightly afraid of messing things up.
She saw Rosie come out of the limo without her partners, and nodded slightly to her. It was a gesture that nobody else really noticed. Why was she here alone? What had happened after she left for the night? She chose not to think about any of that at the moment, and continued looking for the Vilos girl. If she didn't see her in the morning, she would try looking again in class later that day.

| Jack had packed half-heartedly, of course. He felt a petty satisfaction in picking out the most worn and ugliest clothing he could find. Mainly because all the better fitting, better made stuff had been pressed upon him by Nephytis. He had been with Bateman and the witch as they delivered their excuses to the school. Mono. Heart condition.
Jack had no need of an alibi because he was officially non-existent.
He hadn't realized that until Bateman "cheerfully" pointed it out.
He flopped down on the couch. The beach house was one thing, a good place to be away from his cell or the cage or hell, even Nefitit's presence was gone. He was alone with the two girls and Jack wondered during their arrival if Witch Tits had read his mind and was giving him an excuse to murder both of the annoying brats.
And then he inverted the idea. Maybe Witch Tits had taken him here so these two could murder him. It would be like her. And she could get a replacement! For a long moment, this really bothered him. She wouldn't put him down like a rabid dog, would she? And a replacement? No, she couldn't. . .
Jack pinched himself savagely, he wasn't about to care that Nefitips was thinking about replacing him or something. He didn't mind at all, not one bit. He raised his voice and called out "Hey, hat-girl, how do we start this training thing? And what good am I for it? I know she explained it but I'm still not sure what I'm here for. Other than legal business which makes less sense because I'm not officially anything on paper anymore."

| Martha had been lost in her own thoughts, and only just heard Jack speak. She sent Agnes upstairs to get settled, telling her to change into something comfortable, and then they would head to the beach. Once she was upstairs, Martha turned to Jack, her eyes sharp.
"A target, from what I understand." She grinned, giving him a beat of panic before continuing. "Oh come now, you don't think she'd actually do that. And no, we're not both here to kill you, so you can hop off that train of thought right now before it crashes to some shoddily-built way station of a conclusion." Martha glanced around for her own bags, which were still sitting by the door. She strode up to them, looking down at a small gray satchel that Nephytis had hastily-given her at the last minute.
~Earlier at The Chateau, 6:04 am~
Nephytis was, for once, upstairs. She'd taken it upon herself to wake everyone up, as it was the day her plan was set to be in motion, and she'd be damned and burning if she was going to let someone put a wrench int he works by over-sleeping. After Rosie had trudged to the shower and Martha was dressed, Nephytis had called her into Agnes' room, where she was helping Agnes finish packing. Nephytis was pulling Agnes' white sundress over the girls' sleepy head.
"You called Mistress?" Nephytis spoke not a word, but instead nodded to a loose looking little collar on the bed. It was actually less of an actual collar; the leather straps were thinner, lined sporadically with silver studs, and long enough to pass for something one might buy at a Spencer's. the pendant was an ornate looking padlock. Its shape was elongated and sharp, almost jagged, and textured and colored similarly to the bark-like skin beneath the smooth construction that Nephytis wore. Martha picked it up gingerly examining it. Upon closer inspection, the pendant seemed to morph at the touch, making an almost canine grin, growling. The noise startled Martha and she dropped it back on the bed. Nephytis smiled and Agnes giggled.
"Wh...what is this?" Martha looked up at Nephytis bewildered, who was now brushing AGnes' hair at the vanity mirror.
"To keep him sturdy. And close. We wouldn't want him running off again, hm? Just give it to him when you get there. And oh! Take this as well. You cannot have one without the other, so take care not to lose it." She flourished a hand in the air, manipulating her aura int a small orb, and pushing it to the brooch Martha wore on her hat. When it hit the brooch it popped, revealing a small clip, of similar size and shape to the padlock. "And that will attach to jsut about anything, a ring, a necklace, whathaveyou. I just know you have that brooch on you at all times."
When the orb hit her hat, he whole frame shook for a moment, and her vision doubled. When everything settled, Martha's eyes narrowed at the woman, as she was wearing a smirk that always belied the whole truth of what she was saying. "To keep him close and...sturdy?"
"Heh. You will see dearest, you will see."
Nephytis' voice sang, and Martha shuddered.
~Present, Helianthus Beachfront home~
Martha shuddered even now, as she picked up the satchel and walked hurriedly over to Jack, tossing it on the couch next to him. "That's for you. From Nephytis." She turned quickly, grabbing her rolling suitcase and going upstairs, the wheels banging every step as she dragged it to her room.
"Be outside in ten minutes!" She yelled from her room before slamming the door.

| Ange was sitting in the library which was customary for her most mornings now seeing as her afternoons had become training sessions as it were and she couldn't watch it after school like she used to. The librarian of course had , had no problem with changing her schedule she had just wished Ange could do it in the mornings and after school seeing as she had such a knack for actually caring that the books got back to their correct places.
Glancing up at the clock from the botany book she was reading she noticed the first bell for the beginning of classes would sound soon. She gave the usual announcement for the others that were in the library in the mornings. Mostly other nerds as you would have it and the rare preppy girl or two that was being tutored or had to have the newest teenage romance novel or something of that sort.
She actually wondered how Logan was doing but figured if anything was found out Leigh would notify her so she just focused on her book. She was trying to decide on a new attack at some point a weapon other than her darts. She needed something for if things got close to her. She wasn't sure yet what she planned to use but she knew she needed something.

| Sami's group had decided to move inside with class beginning soon, so she followed them, engaging in conversation about this celebrity hottie and that new style of shoes that was honestly so five years ago, in her opinion. But it was what fashion dictated, so she would be sure to have at least one pair of them in her closet. But only one, to show that she was hip and with it. And she'd only wear them once, if at all.
Ugh. What was Vogue thinking with this one?
Sami's homeroom was in the other direction as opposed to the rest of her group, thank goodness. Now she could go on with her mission without anyone trying to talk to her. Then again, that was always a futile cause, as there were always people saying hello and wanting to engage in some form of conversation with her. She kept them brief and kept going. Now... where would a goody-goody bookworm be in this school? Then she stopped. The answer to that question was more than obvious.
No duh.
She walked by the library and saw Ange sitting and reading a book. Good. She was in school today. Now was not the best time to try to talk to her, though, wait until they were in class together. Then she could make a more natural approach there. She then turned and made her way to her first class. English was next period, so she had then to worry.

| The bell rings, and the halls empty, save for a few straggler seniors and a couple of teachers, all smelling vaguely of cigarettes. The first class passes slowly for all; Rosie goes between scribbling circles in her notebook during her math class and texting Alix to see if Math is anymore interesting in a public school setting (it isn't), Sami sits in her class in anticipation of the meeting to come next. Ange is attentive and focused in her class, as expected of a bright student, save for the occasional stray worry about here senes, one of which, to her knowledge, was still int eh hospital with his burns.
After what seems to be eons for some, the bell rings for the next class and very first step of Nephytis plan: English class. Sami's first contact with Ange. Rosie was a year under them, but was given Sami';s number to keep in contact to keep updated on how the mission was progressing, and would be keeping Alix in the loop as well. The students file into their seats in their respective class rooms...

| There were about three minutes before class began, and Sami decided to get there as quickly as she could this day. Ms. Bennett's English class was not too far from her first period, so it didn't take long to get there.
She walked in and took her seat in the class. Ange sat right in front of her, so it wouldn't be hard to strike up a conversation.
The one thing that was catching her up, though, was she wasn't exactly sure how one went about making friends with nerds. She usually had a pretty strict no-loser policy when it came to her group of friends, and Ange was usually skirting along the "loser" border too much for her to actually take any interest in the girl. A little too quiet and book-ish for her tastes. But if Nephytis commanded Sami to befriend the girl, then she would. Hopefully the girl could be ditched as soon as humanly possible so she didn't have to be seen hanging around her for too long.
After all, she had a reputation to keep.

| Logan rolled over in his bed.
"Ow..." he groaned.
He slowly maneuvered himself into a sitting position, propped up with three or four pillows against the wall behind his bed. Tossing the covers to one side he looked down at his torso; his chest and abdomen, as well as the shoulder and bicep of his left arm were covered entirely in bandages.
He was pretty burned up last night, and several of his ribs were cracked and a few more bruised pretty hard. By now though, his skin had more or less grown back and the worst of his cracked ribs were knitting back together to a point where walking wasn't torturous.
He was glad the hospital hadn't insisted on keeping him for more than one night, thanks in a large part to Dr. Pateel. This wasn't exactly the first time that Logan had blown himself up, so to speak. She'd been in earlier to change his bandages and had remarked that in regular cases, he'd need skin grafts and a lot of morphine before they'd let him go. One of the perks of being a Vilos agent however, is that you never really got sick, and your body regenerated much faster than regular. Skin grew back usually overnight, cuts and lacerations closed in a couple hours. Bones were more tricky though... they took a few days. It'd still be about three more days before Logan could consider himself healed enough for combat efficacy. Till then, his teammates would just have to do without him. It shouldn't be a huge problem though. An assault like last night shouldn't happen again for at least that long.
Easing out of bed, Logan gingerly slid a button up shirt over his arms and briefly contemplated trying to button it, but after fumbling with the first button and wincing in pain as his not quite refused bones ground against each other, he said to hell with it and limped out of his room.
The elevator down the hall opened up and he ambled inside, leaning on the walls as it descended to the lobby.
The doors opened up and he hobbled over to the front desk to sign his release papers. Once that was taken care of, he went over the where Leigh was sitting, gazing at the aquarium, a Styrofoam coffee cup, cooling in his hands.
"Hey... Think we can go get my bike?"

| Leight jumped up at the sound of his partner's voice. Before he could ask how he had been let out so quickly, he stopped himself and remembered how magical beings tended to heal much faster than the average human. This was a feature of his powers that he fortunately didn't take advantage of too often, as he was very good at keeping himself from getting too banged up.
"Yeah, a friend of mine picked it up and it's in his garage right now. Y'know, to keep things simple. We'll just stop by his place to pick it up. The bakery's closed today so he should be at home." Leigh grinned. He could always count on Zeke to come through with weird requests like 'Pick up my friend's bike and leave it at your place for a bit.'
He led Logan out to where he parked the van for the night and opened the passenger seat door for him. "So...are you feeling okay?"

| "I've definitely felt better," he said as he gently lowered himself into the passenger seat. "As a general rule, I do my best not to get used to the sensation of bones knitting themselves back together."
He winced as he settled himself down and fumbled with the seat-belt as Leigh closed the door and walked around to the drivers side.
"You didn't have to wait up all night for me though. I mean you've got your own life and everything, it's not your fault I dropped the ball last night..." Logan said, looking out the window uncomfortably as they pulled out of the parking lot. It was unusual for someone to be there taking him home instead of hobbling to the bus stop after being discharged like usual.
"Thanks.." he said.
