| Because the entire institution of higher education is evil and wants you to go so far in debt trying to become educated that you have no choice but to slave over some job you hate that has nothing to do with your degree just to pay them back. The whole thing is one big Ponzi scheme designed by the Man to keep us in our place...right at the bottom...man. 
Alternately: because books are just expensive.

| It's killing me. I have ~$300 left after grants to cover my school supplies. Fuuuuuuck me. So much for getting a cheap-o laptop. Q_Q At least I have my boyfriend's old one to borrow, heh.
Also, I was not aware that you can't check into hotels unless you're over 21. Fffffss it makes sense, but gah. Why. So I could live in an apartment or house before booking a room at a hotel? Seems legit.
Kay, rants done now. Gotta go grocery shopping. See ya later.

I know your pain. My computer which has a fan that shouldn't die died while I was away. So now I have to use my mom's desktop for everything, and her account. Because of course my brother (who has his own desktop and laptop) gets an account on here, but I don't ._.

My books weren't... too expensive, but I don't have too many classes. ~150$ Can you rent any of them? That's usually /much/ cheaper than buying.
