I love this new site, But What I miss doing is being able to go into flash spaces with an avatar. Move around a bit and chat that way. Any way we could bring a small game/chat flashspace here

For one, Cat is literally like the only one doing the art and coding of this entire site, that would be IMPOSSIBLE to implement on her own.

And two, that is just commercial entertainment value for huge avatar forums where interaction is based on games and graphics and not on actually enjoying each other's company. I feel one of the best things about Midorea is that we all genuinely care about each that the forum itself keeps us coming back, not gimmick-y, flashy stuff.

If you find yourself missing those things, you can always go back to the places that have it. No need for every avatar forum to have it and be exactly the same.

Sorry to say, but I think with the amount of people we have and the size of the administration, it would be much easier to keep to our forums. Something like a real time chat could either get out of hand or fall to the wayside.

Personally, I never play those game things on avatar sites. Even if most of us wanted it, I don't think we have the time or resources to make it.

We do, however, have a classic battle system with a shout board. Which you seem to have found. I kind of like these simpler things.

I really doubt a game-like feature is doable for now, for all the previously mentioned reasons.

However, a simple chat thing could be possible. I mean, there's already the battle log thingie, but maybe having some other chat/ something that isn't hidden into the battle section could be possible. Dunno, really.

Then again, with the current activity level on Mido, I really don't know how useful a chat could be, considering there's rarely more than 2-3 people online at the same time, and often only one... Maybe when the site grows (or comes back to life).

I wouldn't mind a chat box off to the side or at the bottom. I've actually seen that in quite a few places. And it'll just keep the same message there until it gets pushed off the page (so more like a shoutbox I suppose). Like the others, though, I don't want a Towns thing. Mostly because my computer doesn't do flash.
