| Hello, all. :) I am pleased to find such a beautifully designed layout here.
An Online History
I encountered the site yesterday after spam browsing various avatar sites.
Originally, I am from Gaia, which I have been active on for seven years.
From there I was dragged back to my childhood site of Neopets, and though I just lost my ten year old account to a freeze, I play habitarium on a new user. More than anything, my interest has been kept by Leopets. Leopians introduced me to Mysticpets and Wajas, and then one of my friends started the site called Aywas (which I am pleased to see some of you play!), but I am less active on those three sites, despite doing site art for them.
A Short Description
In my free time, when I am not reading and writing, I most enjoy doodling characters. I used to be an avid parapost roleplayer for several years, but now I am selfish and like spending my time on my own stories. Art is the most important thing to my life, and is my reason for living. I view all arts as art, mind you, which includes textual and performance arts. Music, Literature, Drama, and Illustration have equal importance. Though my pet peeve is related to writing: I hate intentional bad grammar. That doesn't mean I am going to stop using all caps when I get excited, or that I will refrain from making up words when I feel silly. But it does mean I will be very unhappy if anyone "txt tlks" at me.
A Brief Salutation
You may know me, if not by Crow, as Nobody (nicknamed Nodai), Illustrator, or Pirate.
If we have not met, I am very pleased to be able to meet you now! I would like to get to know you as well. ^^
An Unimportant Request
I have tampered a bit the last couple days with the game system here, which seems difficult to earn silver on, and with the battle system (which is terribly harder than what I am used to, though I guess I should suck it up and accept the challenge). I was wondering if there were any other guides besides the two main ones stickied. I am currently eyeing Maeve's newb thread. ^^ Or is there someone that would be willing to "take me under their wing"? *Chuckles*

| Well, first of all welcome~
There's a lot of helpful people around here, when they're on..
So it should be easy enough to get used to this place.
(You have a lot of the same hobbies/interests as me so yay~)
And odds are the reason you may be having trouble with the battle system is that you chose Bard... It bugs me because I normally always choose a magician of some kind, but really, fighter is the most viable by far.
Also, getting a volleyball helps (that's the cheapest weapon, and lots of durability)
If you have any more questions, just ask...
Oh, and out of curiosity, if you hate bad intentional grammar... What's your stance on lolcats?
As I really really don't like them ¬_¬

| Welcome to Midorea, Crow! And lovely intro (not that I have anything against the shorter introductions, but it's nice to get more information sometimes)!
As Kupsy said, bards (or anything outside fighter) isn't such a good idea to start with, because of the lower amount of HP. Although, you can change your class after making a character, so if you really want to be a bard (or anything else), I suggest remaking your character and picking fighter as your starting class, then switching to whatever class you like at the Training Grounds when you have enough money. That should already help a little.
Also, your character seems to have a very low strength. Unless you want to spend all your silver on spells, I'd suggest trying to get as close to 20 as possible if you decide to remake your character, and possibly picking a race that has a strength bonus too. I generally prefer having everything above 15 too, except Charm since it's automatically brought back to 0, and Intelligence because it's only useful if you use spells, which I never do anyway. The other tips I could give you are written somewhere in the Newcomers Help Center (which also offers a volleyball to new member).
Hm, so yeah, hope you will enjoy your stay on Midorea!

| Thank you. As for lolcats, I must admit I are a bit fond of eet.
*Hangs head in ultimate shame* I'm not a chan user, though.
I don't particularly like it, but it does not bother me very much.
I wonder how to explain my grammar intolerance better, then.
I was told that you must learn the rules before you break them.
People that make lolcat signs are attempting to fall into a humor.
A predefined culture where cats and the like speak bad engrish.
But people who type in lowercase and just don't care to write well...
The ones who write like.. Hold on. Let me consult Gaia's Chatterbox-
"ahh i posted so much todat... im all out of steam need more coal"
All lowercase, no punctuation, complete disregard for spelling....
Oh gods... Browsing that forum makes me want to sick up badly.
But does that better define my issues? I don't mean to seem stuck up.
>///>;;;
I chose my class based on my sort of roleplay ideals for characters.
I don't really want to be a fighter... I guess I should decide now.
Gah... It makes me somewhat sad, though. But thanks for the advice!
Edit: I switched to an 18str Monk, because 'Fighter' was not an option?
