Malygris extracted his arm from Fradubio, a shining orb clutched in his fingers, a brilliant violet light emanating from it. Chuckling to himself, he stood and tucked the orb into a pocket, where it would stay until later. Looking out over the battlefield, he saw the tide of battle had turned, both Cynthia and his abjuration down for the count. Maxine and Corik were squaring off, readying themselves for another round of blows, while Bella and Aiden were in more dire straits than the rest of his minions. Still, he could not begrudge them their performance. They had done all he had required, distracting the Vilos long enough for him to go on reaping the fruits borne by Fradubio unaccosted. Now that whore Nephytis couldn't berate him for not doing his job, and he had of course done his job. It felt good to be back on track. And of course, if every plot went as smoothly as this one had, he would make short work of this world.

Acting quickly, opting against any victory speeches, he shot a look at Viola, before dark energy quickly swirled around him, warping him away from the field of battle. A heartbeat later, the rest of the Misus blink out of existence, Max vanishing just as Corik charged, Cindi and the Abjuration, which was now fading back into the form of Redmond, vanishing from the ground where they lay, and Bella and Aiden vanishing from in front of the fireball, leaving Drei alone in it's path.

Back at the Penthouse Suite

Malygris and the Misus burst into reality, Cynthia and Redmond now concious, were lain out of the sofas, while the momentum Aiden had had pushed him face first into an overstuffed armchair, which slid back on the carpeted floors a bit. Max was still in a fighting stance, but quickly came out of it, registering that she was no longer in the park facing down an enemy. Bella got one foot out to brace herself from when Drei had pushed her, and her outfit had now been repaired, saving her from any indignation.

"And that, children," Malygris said smiling at his charges, "is how we do things when I call the shots."

Once Malygris had made his exit taking the Misus with him, Jade's whole body seemed to relax, dropping to her knees and heaving a sigh of relief.

"Jesus..." She looked to Aimee, who had her spiked ice pillar thing. Jade looked at her wounds, wincing once she got to the wound on her thigh. "Yeesh...can't get a break huh, girl?" Aimee seemed to shrug, and Jade smiled weakly. She looked around at everyone else. Andrew was leaned against the remains of his ice wall, still massaging his temples. Viola was nearby, glaring at the spot where Malygris had once been. Cyrel and Adrian were sitting on the ground off to the side, nursing their respective injuries. Corik and Drei were near the center of the field, the former snickering at the latter, who sat on the ground frantically patting out the small flames on his outfit. Jade smiled in spite of herself, and looked back to Aimee, rising from the ground. "Well, time to take care of the injured. You can stay here and rest while Andrew, Vi, and I take care of this mess."

Jade walks out to Andrew, helping him up and nodding to the tree and the bodies still scattered about. Jade motions Viola toward them, and the three of them exchange words, with them occasionally pointing to different spots in the park. After a collective nod, the three of them walk toward the tree. They all stand before it looking upward, and take a deep breath, turning their backs to it closing her eyes and cupping their trinkets. With what energy they can muster, they summon Epol, Lenta, and Lyn. The larger forms super-impose over their bodies, and Jade and Epol begin to levitate, climbing higher until they reach just above the branches, with Andrew, Lyn, Viola, and Lenta still at the roots and trunk. Epol and Jade raise their arms gather energy into their hands, as do the other two Sene and messengers, and begin funneling it into the tree all at once. Jade and Epol send an energy stream straight into the crack of the tree at the top, while Andrew, Lyn, Viola, and Lenta focus on the trunk and roots.

The white, yellow, and blue energies course through the tree, and down through its roots and tendrils, where it restores (at least partially) energy to its many victims scattered about the park. Bodies began to twitch and squirm under the crackling roots, and eyes began to blink awake. When the sufficient energy was provided, the trio at the tree gave one last "push" of energy to the tree itself. The tree's branches wither away and the bark seems to melt away into the reddish ichor under the power, revealing the form of a middle-aged man, damp and covered in grime, but otherwise all right.

The trio stop, and their messengers return back from whence the came. Jade floats down to the ground, her legs giving out from under her as she lands, with Andrew and Viola doing much the same; Viola sitting on her knees, and Andrew falling on his behind and laying out on his back. The people in the part began to stir...

"Ugh.."

"Oww...jeez I'm sore..."

"What happened? Where...the festival?"

"What's going...on..."

One voice rang out loudly amongst these, and the sound of rapidly approaching feet pounding against grass reaches the three, before a young woman, her button blouse torn and dirty, her face and hair disheveled, approached the three.

"I am Jane Summerson, Channel 4, KNT--HURRY UP WITH THAT CAMERA! KNTO!" The reporter wastes no time in bombarding the three with questions, giving them little to no chance to answer in anything but stutters and mumbles. "One last question for our viewers! Are you and these other oddly dressed youths responsible for resolving this crisis?!"

The three looked at each other blankly, before staring back at the reporter and nodding meekly. The reporter gives a genuine smile, before saying quietly, "Thank you. Allow me to speak on behalf of the lives you saved here today, and the lives connected to them, we are in your debt" The three respond with a combination of blushes, shrugs, and quiet 'No problem's before the reporter turns to the camera and people behind her, shouting: "KENTOPOLIS! THESE ARE YOUR HEROES!!!!! And you saw it first on Channel 4 KNTO!!

No sooner had the reporter shouted these words, there was a near ear-splitting cheer from the people, and they all gathered around the various Vilos members, asking questions about what they did, how they did it, their outfits, autographs, shaking their hands, and lifting them into the air.

Several other news media stations arrived on the scene a short time later, and the Vilos had to split themselves up to handle all the interviewers. Ambulances soon arrived, taking the more severely injured away, including the driver of their white van which had to be towed. Cyrel managed to get the Vilos another ride (her own helicopter no less) amidst the celebratory confusion, and they all piled in. As the copter lifted off, the crowd cheered, and the Vilos waved back, before they flew up and away, the cheers of the onlookers below becoming more and more distant.

The copter circled about the city, giving them a great view of the spectacles going on below, before heading out in the direction of the the Warehouse. Jade was cuddled up next to Andrew, trying to keep warm in the crisp night air. Viola sat opposite of them, with Aimee int he seat next to her, her leg wrapped up and taken care of for now by one of the EMS employees. Cyrel was in the cockpit sitting next to the pilot, making small talk. Adrian sat near the open door, one leg dangling over the side as he examined the cityscape. Corik sat in the center of the door, both legs dangling over the side, with Drei on the opposite side of the door, holding onto the railing. The group sits in relative silence for most of the ride, until Jade spoke up:

"...Dunno 'bout y'all, but I'm tired as fuck."

Viola had never been fond of crowds, and was fortunate to have others that didn't mind them around her to calm her down. Yes, they had saved everybody, but she knew that the outcome was not as cheerful as the media made it to be. She saw that look that Malygris had given her and knew exactly what it meant.

You seem worried. Why? We did a wonderful job taking care of things. The people have been saved and all of you sent the Misus running!

Viola shook her head. "Yeah, we saved the people. But Malygris still won. He got what he needed." She looked around at the others resting, content with their job. "But I'll let them celebrate. No use getting everyone worried quite yet. We still have time... I hope." She sighed audibly, resting her head against the back of the helicopter, deciding to enjoy the peace and quiet after the chaos of the day.

Drei was currently looking back at what has transpired. So this is what it felt like to actually make a big impact on people's lives...and what it was like to take part in a real fight. A smile crept upon his lips as he thought back on it, and how the end result played out when the citizens were rescued.
"I have to say...being gifted and all sure is awesome." Drei spoke within his mind. "I get to meet new people, see new things, and engage in...heart pounding activities." These laid back thoughts that ran through Drei's mind was enough to make Nel snap at him for saying that.

"Now hold on...it's nice to feel confident every once in a while, but if you continue being cocky the way you are, it's going to bite you later." Nel warned him, which only made her partner shrug before he responded.

"Meh. What matters now, is that the citizens are safe. Sure I wasn't there for round one...but I was right on time for round two. Although, the whole fan base we all gained caught me completely off guard." Drei responded within his mind while his eyes appear to be closing..almost as if he was about to fall asleep.

"Yeah...about that...think your mother will notice?" Nel asked him with a hint of concern.

"....Nah." That was the last response Drei gave off before he fell asleep, right at that spot, allowing his body to hold him up.

Jade looked around at her fellow Vilos, her eyes falling upon Drei, who appeared to be falling asleep. "Hrrrmmm." she pursed her lips slightly, her expression becoming one of minor annoyance. "Drei."

When the boy didn't respond, she spoke louder, and sharper. "DREI." The boy blinked awake, looking in her direction. Jade sat up and folded her arms. "You were uh. Lil' late to the party there, chief."

Jade sit DOWN. Drei is not your pari, therefore it is not your place to discipline him, let Viola take care of that.

I'm not gonna discipline him EPOL, I'm just voicing my displeasures.

Jade, with the way you generally are, I am willing to bet that line is practically indiscernible, and one inevitably leads to the other, so why do you not just--

"Shuddup Epol." The voice in her head seemed to sigh deeply, but kept quiet. "Care to tell us where you were?"

Aimee was lost in her thoughts for most of the ride. She didn't really like the attention the medias and crowd had given them, but that itself wasn't much of a problem. She only hoped no one she knew would recognize her and go talk to her parents about her "extracurricular activities" - the general explanation she used when they ask why she was out so late some days...

She figured she'd need to talk to them about that one day anyway, just in case something happened to her, but she had never found the right moment for it. And now she'd need to correct the situation before they get more worried about her. She heard Viola sighed beside her, coming back to reality and taking her Sene's reaction for tiredness coming from all the fighting they had done. The others were all pretty quiet... except Jade, who apparently wasn't too pleased with Drei. "Not my problem," she thought, returning to her thoughts about how to bring her magical abilities to her parents without sounding like she'd became crazy.

The young man blinked a few times when he realized that he fell asleep on the way back to head quarters. It took a few minutes for his mind to register that they were still in the air, and he was currently being addressed by one of the Sene in the flying vehicle. "Uh....huh?" Still halfway asleep, Drei didn't realize what was going on, until Nel stepped in and helped out a little.

"Why were you late, Drei."
Was all Nel said in his mind.

"Oh! That!..Yeah..." A small smile crept onto the youth's face, before he begins to speak. "Well...I made it to part two of the party, and did what I could for the time being...and those that were captured were free, complements to the Senes aboard." Drei gave a slight bow to all the Senes in question, before he continued. "Sure...we got kicked around here and there, but what matters most is that we made it out in one piece...so with that being said..." Drei stopped talking for a moment, and allowed reality to kick in. This was not going to get him out of the heat he would have to endure for his tardiness...shaking his head, he got right to the point on why he was late in the first place.

"Alright alright, I'll just cut to the chase. Family came first...I made a promise that I would attend a reunion back at my house. While you were handling that morning wood earlier, I was trying to find a way to escape the party, and aid you in battle. So, I called one of my pals over, gave him my lunch money so he would pose as me at the party, I slipped out, got down here as quick as I could and...you all know the rest." Drei explained everything, while he pulled out his cell for a moment to check for any new messages. When he saw that his phone only showed the same background, it was enough to tell him that his in-box was empty. "And in case you ask...no my stunt double does not know the reason why I am out here. I just told him that I know people down there and...I wanted to make sure they were alright...so, my apologies for the lateness." Drei finished his explanation, and shut his eyes with his head lowered, waiting for the chewing out to begin.

"At least you made it." Viola almost muttered. She wasn't in the mood to do any form of reprimanding at the moment. "You came just in time, and it was good to have you."

Family came first... she could respect that. Her family was never close, and there were times when she wished that she had a mother like Drei's. While it would be annoying at times, it would mean that she actually cared about her daughter and wished for her well-being. Her family knew about her magic already, but none of them cared. That's part of what made being magical so easy for her. She never had to do much ducking out without being seen or lying to hide her other activities from them because they never asked.

"Just try to contact us next time."

Jade was about to say something before Viola muttered something to him. Here eyes went back and forth between the two before she merely rolled her eyes and said, "Fine. But yeah. Call us next time." She gave another exhausted sigh and slumped back in her seat, running her hand through her hair, muttering, "Need a goddamn drink..." After a few more minutes of quiet, she spoke up again, to no one in particular. "Just out of curiosity, are me an' Cyrel the only ones with relatives that at the very least have an idea of what we do? I mean, if you still wanna hide it, fine whatever, but wouldn't it just be easier to tell them? I mean, I know when I told mine they'd already figured it out, and were just being polite about it I guess...granted Lyndmill's not near as big as this city, and word gets around pretty fast..."

At the mention of everyone's families, Corik looked away from the skyline that was passing by and glanced back inside the helicopter.

"I probably would have told mine by now, but it's not really an issue anymore." he said returning his gaze out the open door. "I don't even have anyone to tell in the first place."

It had taken Bella a couple of moments to realize what had happened and the she was now out of harms way. She moved her hands from in front of her face and began to look at her wounds. She hadn't had the time on the battlefield to assess the damage that had been done to her person. Though they stung the burns on her arms weren't as bad as the slash marks she had received from the blades they were screaming in protest to even the slightest of movements.

"Son of a bitch bastard." She muttered biting her lip to keep from crying out in pain as she found a sofa to sit on. She was still pissed about what had happened ad the fact the Vilos boy had used her as a shield had shocked her to say the least. "I don't know what you said to him Aiden but next time I suggest you pick your words more carefully especially in battle." She shot at him sounding a bit more angry than she meant to but she was angry and injured not only physically but her pride had been damaged a bit as well.

~~~~~~~~~~
Cyrel had been talking with the pilot of the helicopter for a bit now. He was a new guy but had already been brought up to speed by Shari seeing as he was her younger brother. She couldn't hear what was going on with the others and was kindave glad because she could just imagine what Jade would start saying to her about even showing up to the fight at all. So she just sat in silence since there was nothing else left to talk about with the pilot of the helicopter who's name she had already forgotten seeing as he wasn't someone she had seen many times before.
Aiden gave a muffled response of affirmation from the cushions that he was currently face-first in. At the moment he didn't want to get up. He was hurting all over- partially from the powering down and partially from the burns all over his body.
On the inside, though, he was swearing up a storm. He should've been more careful with himself and Bella. He screwed up, and now the enemy knew his feelings for his teammate. They could use this as an advantage in the future. Fortunately, he could tell that she didn't hear the remark that he made, and he was greatful for that.
Leaning against the open bay door of the transport, Adrian looked out at the cityscape, very glad his improved senses had worn off, his head throbbing enough as it was, compounded with the beating of the rotors above him, his exhaustion threatening to over take him. A flashing light catches his eye as the question of parents was asked, masking his minor shudder by turning and looking after the light, yawning and nestling himself tighter against the door, his arm looped through a belt on the door.
They wouldn't care... pat on the back, go on with life... nothing more. Not like I'm actually... effective for much... Heh. With this thought he began to drift asleep, rocked gently by the turbulence, the beating of the blades lulling him to sleep, his body relaxing, holding its position.
Drei was quiet about the conversation that has been going on. Mostly because the vilos already knows about the relationship between him and his mother...but it DID make him think about weather or not he wants to tell her. Because if he did...then maybe he can quit getting substitutes all the time to get out of trouble. With that in mind, he made his choice to just tell his mother about it once he returns home...besides, there's no way his substitute can hold up the act for this long. It would be a miracle, but you can't rely on those all the time.
"By the way...while we are on the subjects of people we are close with..I need to know something. Now don't get any ideas when I ask this but...are there any couples or relationships going on between any of us right now?" The youth folded his arms across his chest while he asked, and waited for an answer.
Andrew had been listening dis-interestedly to the conversations the rest of them were having. He was largely preoccupied being terrified of flying, not trusting the physics that were involved in any large hunk of metal being anywhere beside on the ground. He didn't hazard a response about his parents. They knew about his magically-ness and they hadn't really believed it at first, but they'd realized he wasn't making things up when he'd had to transform and combat a monster in order to save their lives. The next question though... He couldn't just ignore that.
Turning his head towards Drei, a befuddled look on his face, he asked "Are you seriously just now picking up on that? I mean, it's not like we didn't try to keep it a secret. Jade here is mothering the first of my illegitimate children and I can't exactly just leave it like that. The wedding is in the spring."
His disbelief vented, he sighed and returned to his position, gaze locked ahead, trying to to focus on the distance separating him and the ground, not thinking about just how flexible those thin rotor blades were that were all that separated them all from a threatening fall and a sudden stop.
