I suggest you check the Newcomers Help Center for all the general information (plus the rules and FAQ linked at the top of the page). And if you have any question left, just ask!
Basically, you should post in the forums (but not spam), and battle to get silver. Posting is often easier for newbies and it helps you meet other members and all. Battling is interesting since you don't have to wait for someone to answer you post, but it takes a little adaptation to the battle system (nothing hard, really).
So yeah, hope you will have lots of fun with us!
