"Interesting that your friends find the palace life luxurious. Of course for some it is as long as your not having to make laws fix trade routes and such. Most of the time it's a hassle. What I would give to just be able to take care of my family and animals. Of course this country isn't going to run itself. I was born into such a life so I suppose I must accept what I have." He said getting down off Stormrunner's back seeing as she was grazing.

"I would say you have it quite lucky but I am certain that is not entirely true." He said smiling at Emma genuinely it was nice to speak to someone that in a way understood what he was going through even if it was from a different spectrum. Being hassled by friends about things that are your own morals could be tough for just about anyone.

"I am grateful that I have a home, family, and such." Emma mused, answering his question. "Sure, times are hard but it's life, right?" She then kicked an apple that had fallen from the tree. "I could say that I am lucky, because there are people who don't have the things I have right now." Emma then looked at the prince and said, "You know what I want to do? I want to help those orphans and make their lives better."

Her eyes widened. 'Why did I tell him such a thing?' She thought, biting her lip.

"Orphans?" He ask looking at her curiously. Most people he knew despised children that had no parents or home, It was refreshing to see someone other than himself that seemed worried over them. "I have the ability to help orphans but am told not to waste my time on little street urchins as many of the people in court call them. He said giveing a puff of air up through his bangs.

"Then they wonder why murder and thievery go on. It's because no one helps the children that are left to fend for themselves. Makes me sad and angry really. To be in a position to do something about it but told it is not worth my time to bother with it." He said sitting down in the grass next to Stormrunner plucking some and letting the horse munch it out of his hand.

"You are told not to waste your time on those orphans you call street urchins?" Emma asked, an edge to her voice. "You are the prince, for goodness sakes! The future king! Don't you have a say in your father's laws and plans for making the kingdom prosperous?" She asked, her hands balled into fists. 'Those rich people don't know how hard and demeaning it is to beg for food, doing anything to fill your stomach.'

"At the moment no I have no say. I can voice my opinions on matters. Weather my voice is heard on the other hand is difficult to say. I do not call the children urchins myself. My friends however do which they have learned not to do so around me." He said looking up to the sky the clouds that were there were much nicer than then ones from the previous days.

"I did make an attempt to help a small group of orphans once when I was younger. Pissed my parents off to no end royalty helping someone with no wealth. Bah royalty, nobility its all a load of crap really just a bunch of rich fools who believe money is power when its not." He said still looking at the sky.

"Heh don't ever tell my mother I said that though she would have me killed despite being the only heir to the throne." He said as he laid back in the grass nudging Stormrunners nose out of his face when she had huffed as him for getting in her way. "Sorry girl" He said sitting back up to let the horse continue her eating.

Somehow, Emma was peeved that the prince was calm as he replied to her. Shouldn't he be angry and rebellious about this? He is the prince, the guy everyone wants to be-or at least marry. She closed her eyes and recited her family tree in her head, assuming that it was hopeless trying to let the prince get angry. She was quite calm as she went through her mother's side of the family.

But he did make an attempt. BlueLily then nudged Emma on the shoulder with her nose and she held her head in her hands, smiling and nudging her nose against hers. "Did you get your fill?" She asked.

Alex sighed he had obviously upset Emma he could tell that much. The truth was he was angry but he had been trained not to show it for so long that it was hard to break that training. Stormrunner began pushing him with her head after a moment. "Ok girl I'll move" He said getting out of the hungry horses way as she started eating the area of grass he had been sitting in.

"I am sorry if you were expecting me to show my rage." He said suddenly towards Emma deciding he owed her an explanation. "It's just ever since I was young showing anything outside of happiness for anything has been highly discouraged. I can be angry at something yes but I must never show that it has angered me." He continued looking up at the clouds for a moment before turning his attention towards Emma again. "So if my lack of showing anger upset you I am sorry." He said rubbing his fingers down Stormrunner back which earned him a snort of approval from the horse before she went back to grazing.

Emma sighed, the tension in her muscles disappearing. "Well, I guess it serves as an advantage. But just keeping your feelings bottled up inside you isn't healthy. Believe me, I know." She looked at the horizon, her mind far away. "And I'm not angry because you're not angry." Emma mused, keeping the other part of her answer silent.
