Tainted Ones

Lilian nodded. "Exactly." As she said that, she drew the final card from the deck with a dramatic flourish. When reading for a customer, they liked that little bit of drama with the final card. The motion had practically become instinctual. As she laid the card down on the table, she took a good look at it.

On the card was a skeleton in full plate armor holding a black banner and riding a while horse. All the people around it were on the ground.

"The death card..." she said softly. "Despite popular belief, it does not symbolize death. It usually represents a transformation, a great cleansing." She smiled. "It's actually not a bad card at all."

As she glanced over the cards, she pieced the full meaning together. "As I can gather, this means that a brave woman who has lost much will start a journey that will result in a great transformation." She smiled and looked up at Kira.

"Hmm Sounds interesting and believable enough." Kira said pulling a handful of coin out. She knew Lilian had said it was a free reading but she never believed in not paying people there due. "Here for making a believer out of a skeptic." She said handing her the coin and looking out the window. It was still very late at night the sun wouldn't dawn for about another couple of hours. Or at least that was her guess since it was still black outside. "Hmm seems we have a bit left before the sun rises and I will be able to distinguish colors. Maybe we should try and get a bit more rest. That is unless you all want to work out some more plans." She said looking down at the papers she had wrote out.

"The best I have so far is those of us that can take to the thieves highway take to there that way there's a view from above. Those that can't take to the streets ask the townsfolk if they have seen anyone fitting the description of the robed men. Once we have a good idea we can all meet back here and make a more solid plan of dealing with these guys." She said reading directly from the paper that didn't have a giant x marked over it.

Jenna had taken a seat, close enough to be able to listen in on the fortune telling. It was a bit strange that she should be so facinated by a card trick. She didn't believe much in the powers of people who shuffled a bunch of cards and then delt out your fates. However, Lilian had shown she had some magical ability. So that needed to count for something, right?

She listened to Kiras' plan of action. She wasn't too keen on taking to any sort of road with the threat of sunlight looking in the very near future. The drow, might have known this, thus the suggestion of people remaining in town to gather information. The vamp wasn't sure how much good she would do. She would need to rest eventually, if she wanted to be any further use. But that could be delt with when necessary.

"I'll probably be here when everyone else returns, but I'd prefer to have a set time to meet up. It wouldn't do to leave someone out of the planning because they didn't know when to return," Jenna put into the conversation. More likely than not, she'd be asleep or attempting to sleep by the time the others returned. "I can be one of the ones that check around town to see if anyone has any information."

(( For all intents and purposes I am going to speed this up. There is someone who would like to join us. He has spoken with me on a good way to enter that I agree will work considering all of our characters are already established and he's coming in a bit late. I won't go to far ahead maybe a couple of days. I deleted my last post just so this one will be relevant.))

[color=indigo]Kira had agreed with Jenna's statement and everyone went there own ways either heading to the roofs or taking to the streets. It seemed like no trace had been left by any of the black robe members. Kira was becoming worried. There had been talk of the ones that had started the war showing back up Simply calling themselves the Furies angels this time.

"It's been three day's since the portal and Zuvri's attack and no sign of the black robes at all. It's maddening to say the least especially with talk of Furies in the world again. They called themselves Kayos Furies last time when they started this war now theirs talk of them being back around. I don't like it at all." She said taking a long pull from her reed pipe and blowing the smoke up into the air. "I'm taking to the roofs again in about an hour if anyone wants to come along. Thought your probably all tired of searching by now. Maybe today something will be found hopefully." The drow said pulling her cloak around her and going to the area in the now fixed and fully running again Inn that lead to the thieves highway. She truly hoped to find something not wanting another war to much had been lost in the first technologies that had been lost in it were still be found and recovered though they weren't what they used to be at all. "Maybe today something will unfold that can send us on the journey Lilian spoke of." She said as she hoped a couple of rooftops over waving at another mercenary that was coming in with a bounty as she did so.

Jenna shook her head at Kira's invitation. "I'm going to stick to the streets. With any luck, I'll finally overhear something that we can put to some use. But if you ask me, I think we'd be better off trying somewhere else."

She straightened her duster and donned her fedora before leaving the others. She sighed as she stepped out of the repaired inn. This was fruitless. If it wasn't for the fact that they didn't have any leads, she would have suggested leaving days ago. She gathered shadows about her, as she had done so many times before, masking her figure. Her boots made little sound as she slunk through the streets and alleys. She listened to random conversations, trying to find something the party could use.

((The other person that was intending to join never sent me there information and therefore I have decided to carry on without that individual anyway. I would very much like to bring this back to life. I know this is a short post for such a thing but I really got nothing so its a fail short post ))

Kira came back after about an hour of finding nothing. I was probably best to move on now and follow the one small lead they had. "Well guys looks like we are going to begin our travels. I am finding nothing more than what we found a few days ago about an odd looking group heading into the Underdark. So down underground to my old home we go I suppose." She said as she came back to the table most of the group was sitting at the only person she noticed missing was Jenna who would probably be back soon.

Lilian became a little nervous at the notion of traveling underground. She knew that the dark elves weren't exactly fond of her kind, and wasn't at all sure how they felt about tainted ones. She would go where the rest of the group went, though, because she felt that it was safer to travel in a group than alone.

"Very well then." She rose. "When are we heading out?"

Zuvri blinked a few times at the mention of going underground. Although it wasn't such a problem for him at first, having inherited the night vision and instincts of his drow father and having grown up there, he was pretty sure it wasn't such a good idea to go taunt the Drows on their own territory. He had always felt better on the surface, considering that even if someone recognize him, he had the advantage of knowing the zone better, but the underground...

A shiver passed down his spine at the thought of what could happen. "Fine," he finally managed to say, getting up and waiting for more orders.

[Tsemara]

Jenna entered the establishment some time after Kira had returned. She had been unable to find any information about the people they were searching for. She let out an exasperated sigh as she released her hold on the shadows she was using as cover. Seeing the others gathered together, she aproached them. "Well, that was a waste of time," she huffed. "You have any better luck finding anything else out?"

Judging by the looks on the faces of her companions, there had either been no new information, or the news thet they had was less than good.

"I found nothing new. Just the same info from a few days ago. So I have decided its time to move on. I really don't want to go into the under-dark myself it has been a long time since I have trekked those paths so it will be slow goings. Its the best lead we have though." She said ordering a round of drinks for them as a barmaid passed by.

"If everyone is ok with it that is. I don't want to lead anyone into anything they aren't fully willing to face." She said taking a look a Zuvri and Lilian before taking her seat again as the drink arrived.

[Maeve]

Zuvri shrugged. If he stayed here, he would wonder all the time who those strange men were. If he went to the Underdark, chances were he would get in trouble. Then again, maybe his old clan had been wiped out by another and nobody remembered him. Yeah, right, he thought ironically.

"I don't mind going with you," he finally said, a small smile on his face. "Better than staying here and doing nothing anyway," he added, his grin getting wider. He had wanted to return to the Underdark a few times, but of course doing so alone wasn't a bright idea. Now, he finally had a chance to do it.

"I agree with Zuvri." Lilian nodded. "Let's go down and see what we can find. Plus, I've never traveled the underdark before, and the experience could be an enriching one." She smiled, trying to find the positives in the situation. It was a little difficult at the moment, but she was always open for a new experience, no matter how scary it could end up being.
