| The 1900s thing appeals to me now a lot. Then again, I've been watching Buffy as of late and the whole "Hellmouth" thing suddenly popped into my head.
When it comes to the good vs. evil thing, it could be two parties looking for different uses of this new source of power (no idea that it's demonic). The good guys think that nothing good can from it and wish to close it. The evil (or not that evil to start out, but influenced by a hellmouth being) wants to utilize the power to build an unbeatable army.
Just throwing things out.
And thug=minor demon hoping to move up in the social ladder by following the good guys.

| I really like that 1900s era thing. For some reasons, more modern (combined with the good vs evil / demon & gates to hell stuff) seemed sorta overused. Same for previous era, though not as much. I don't really mind what we got for in the end though, just stating what I prefer
I love the whole "gates to hell/ demonic planes" theme, and I agree with Keyla about the two sides just having different opinions/goals about what should be done, just to make it more plausible (I don't mind bad guys who just want to destroy everything, and heros who just want to save the world, but a little extra-goal here and there makes them more interesting).
For some reason, I often imagine the demon plane as being some sort of planet, pretty much like Earth. Cultures (and living forms) on Earth have evolved differently for many reasons, the main one being isolation from the others, and so could demons. For example, the ones living on a small remote island could have a completely different philosophy than those living on the main continent.
Then, that world is (for some reason) linked to the Earth, the different places on it each linking to a specific point of the planet. So, the demons inhabiting that region would then start to appear on Earth, but only in the place they are linked to. For example, a certain zone of the demon world would contain what we call Youkai, which are known in Japan (only) because that zone is linked to Japan, and sometime portals or gates appeared between the two.
Speaking of that, most cultures have "exorcists", or people specialized in fighting against demons and returning them to their home plane, and closing the gates between the two world. Maybe that's what the good guys (or some of them at least) could be?
Most cultures also have dark mages, sorcerers and the like, who associate themselves with demons to get more power or whatever it is they desire. So, bad guys? Plus obviously the demons.
Just some random ideas anyway
Oh, look at that, my brain decided to make a wall of text instead of studying! Bad brain!
Anyway, yeah, I need to go back to studying now

| Name: Drei McCloud
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Werebeast
Weapon: Judgement Gear -- A pair of silver gauntlets and ankle guards that are made for pure brutality. If Drei is going to serve justice, he shall serve it with a PAWNCH.

Duel Pistols -- A pair of hand made energy pistols that Drei carries around his waist. Just because he's there to stop evil doers..doesn't mean he'll fight fair.
Character Type: A kind Werebeast with a strong sense of justice. He will always rebell against any form of cruelty, unfairness, crime, and torture in any form. Even if it means going up against an entire system based on that.
Basic Description: A Werebeast is a human with a few animal like qualities on his appearence, and a trait depending on what animal he or she supposed to be. Drei's hight is 5'7. With a bit of muscle on his arms from training so much, Drei's build is right in the middle between gaining a muscular top, or not having one at all. He usually wears a black shirt with a short sleeved red jacket over it, and a black belt buckle on his left sleeve. He normally wears a pair of white pants with two belts on his upper left leg, and a pair of black shoes to go with his outfit. The black shoes also has a steel tip. His pants are held up by a black belt that also holds his guns, and a white scarf is currently wrapped around his neck. When he is not wearing his gauntlets, you can see the black wrist bands he has on both of his arms, and a pair of black fingerless gloves. The gauntlets he currently uses are exactly the same as the picture above. Drei's skin is brown, he has long shaggy snow-colored hair with blue tips that travels over his shoulders a little, sapphire eyes with black slits in them, and the kicker that makes him more distinct than anyone else...a pair of white fox ears with a pinch of blue at it's tips, and a snow colored tail with blue swirls all over it.
Ability/Attack Coming soon...I'm tired XD
Background/History: This part will be added once we have a story, plot, time era, ect...and I shall gladly share my ideas once I am more awake >.<

| Pending character!
Name: Canillos, alias Richard Malone
Age: centuries, but looks to be about 17
Gender: Male
Species: Hellhound under Human guise
Character Type Possibilities: Contagonist
Basic Description: When not disguised, Canillos looks like a large dog (kind of an irish wolfhound) made of fire. When disguised, he is much smaller with a waif-like physique and stringy black hair and dark brown eyes wearing simple clothing. His only weapon is a small dagger.
Background/History: Will expand on more, but as far as I know he was essentially the runt of the litter and was never respected much by the other hell-beasts. When the humans opened a portal, the Big Bad (whoever that is) decided to send him to scout the area and report on any oppositions to their plans. The reason he was sent was that if he ended up failing, there wouldn't be a huge loss on their side. He does not realize this, though, and sees it as a chance to become more powerful in the demon world. If he did his job correctly he would finally be respected...

| Ok, So I know I was interested in this, and I still am, don't get me wrong, but for pretty much the rest of the year, real life isn't slowing down for me, so my spare time and creativity are going to have to be put to use somewhere else. (college)
because of this, I'm going to have to withdraw my own submission, just because I can't really manage getting a new RP started. Just ask everyone in the Magical Girl RP, I've been pretty much absent for a while, and it's annoying me as well as them, because we all know what happened to the last person from MGRP that went absent for a long period of time.
Once things begin to calm down, mostly an end to marching band, if you need anything, feel free to ask, but for now I just can't manage effectively anything else.

| @Keylaleigh, what part of the 1900's do you think would be best? I mean, you could mean the decade of 1900's or the century o3o I didn't specify either, but I was sorta wondering what you're thinking P=
Anywhoses, the idea of the "badies" wanting ultimate power VS the "goodlings" seeking to keep peace- I think thats a brilliant idea. But, of course with the bad guys learning the truth-- or at least a twisted version of the truth, there's room for some of that original Bad guy team to change sides and things to get sticky. Sounds delicious >:3
And your character sounds adorable so far~ >D< ... in a scary.. not-adorable-at-all-cause-he's-so-powerful-or-something sort of way 8D;; (I hope I don't get eaten for calling him that D8;; )
@Maeve~ I absolutely agree about giving plausible motives. That's the sorta of stuff we are supposed to work on once the general frame of the plot is made.
Your idea about isolated demons is EXACTLY the direction I was going to go with for my character XD But you threw out more explanation than I got to figure out yet. -noms your brain- Sooo gewd~ >w<
Oh man, and then your continuation of clarification made my soul giggle like a giddy school girl Oh I enjoy this~
Homan, Exorcist would have a whole new level of meaning D88 And then the dark shaman, magic users, etc-- I adore you! Thats so awesome 8D And it gives room for some seriously awesome characters.
Hope your studying paid off D: <333
And oh man- if you do the side characters... I'll cry with joy.. really. Like- literally cry. That would be AMAZING and I know you could dish out some DANG good variety :]]
@Koyitar, Alright, well if the idea is solid enough amongst everyone then I'll call a vote to make it official and you can have more reign on making that character of yours :]
@Leingod, -luffs up on sexy design- Such great description~ I really can't wait to draw this guy >8D Welcome to the team my friend!
@Nuke, fine, just rip my heart out and kick it around ;-;
I just might DEMAND you to take on a reoccurring character role and just do guest appearances on the occasion.. when you have the time.. even if it's only once D:< -kicks life- I hope everything goes well though :] <33
-puts a band-aid on life- o3o;; <3
OKAY. Gonna pull out a poll. It looks like the story line is getting relatively solid, so I want to make sure the entire team is happy with the direction we're going in before we continue to mapping out the world, history, species, and ranks. So get your little butts on up to the poll once it's posted and tell me what ya think. If you have any extra opinions, please post! <3

| Hm, yeah, I pretty much agree with what's been said regarding setting, plot, etc. I guess I would prefer maybe the 1940s or the 1980s, but that's just me. I'd like to be a main character, I guess I don't mind good or evil; I think I may have to tread a line between the two, if that proves possible. So maybe a sort of rogue? Profile pending...

| XD; Well I think a more serious decade would be better for the plot, personally. It would be absolutely HYSTERICAL to do a corny disco or hippie theme, but I think it might be a little too much comedy input. But you know- with it being fantasy fictional, having a character that's totally not from the right era (future options included) wouldn't be frowned upon at all :]
Of course I'll be more than happy to do side comics of the "what if's" lol. So you guys could do some side mini RPs with your characters on the down time when I have the RP on pause for drawing. I'd totally draw some random minis like for chapter breaks 8D
But if that's the angle everyone wants (meaning the 70's or what have you) then majority has the vote.
It's just my input ^^ <33
@Maeve~ D8> Bu-But Maaeeve~ D:>
Can it be my character self or does it have to be my real self? Dx;;
Can I pretend I didn't ask if it's my real self and give you a doodle? 8DD
If I can't then can I have permission to draw all over the photo so to give it comedy relief... as my crying face is sort of.. terrifying and encourages small children to cry too 8D;;
