Atraea blinked sleepily at Koyi, who had made her way down the stairs wearing yet another outfit. "Why are you...? How often do you do laundry?" Koyi blinked confusedly at her, and Atraea shook her head. "Know what, never mind." She stood on counter, stretching her arms and legs. She hopped behind the counter and floated down to the cabinet on the bottom which held some honey flavored mead. She flew up to the knob and pulled it open a crack, and zipped inside leaving a spotty trail of sparkles.

"Now where's that pitcher...A-HA! Wait, WHOA--!"

*splish*

*gulp gulp*

*celeste sound*

Atraea's head shoots upward from behind the counter, as she appeared, normal size, pitcher in hand, licking her lips. "Ahhhh, much better." SHe took another swig before Tse'mara appeared in the doorway.

"Eh, sure, why not." Atraea hopped over the bar and headed for the stairs.

Keyla made her way down the stairs, squinting to see in the darkness. She wasn't fond of the dark. Never was, never would be. "Umm... are there any lights? I wouldn't want to trip down the stairs and run somebody through with this thing." She said in all seriousness as she ran her hands up the pudao. She had just sharpened it yesterday, so it was very lethal.

"Hey wait up I don't want to be left behind." Koyi said deciding she would join the other in the basement despite her dislike of the giant squid. She really justg didn't want to be left alone she liked being around people.

Maeve walked down the stairs while waiting for the others to join them. "Uh, yeah, I believe there were some lights, at least in the part we use normally," she said, running her hand on the wall to the left of the stairs until she found a small switch. She turned it on, lighting up a few light bulbs placed in small cage-like device to prevent tall people from hitting their head on them. Well, they could still hit the cages, but the lights were safe...

The brunette blinked a few times, adjusting her eyes to the new lightness of the room. It was still pretty dark, as most of the walls were made of dark stones and not painted, but at least they could see where they placed their feet. "So, let's go," she said with a smile, leading the way down the main hall. A few doors on each side revealed nothing but storage rooms with all sort of objects in them. Then came the menagerie, a place where various animals were kept for unclear purposes. At the approach of the group, some of the creatures had begun to move, thinking it was time for their meal.

"Not now Frisky," Maeve said, pushing away a large tentacle that was reaching through the metallic bars of its room. She kept moving further, hoping the others would pass the animals without problem. "I'll just show you where I found the marks first..." she said, stopping into a small room from where many hallways where starting and looking around. The lighting was starting to be less efficient in this section, making it hard to find anything that wasn't especially bright.

"Ah, there it is," she finally said, pointing at strange traces on the ground near one of the halls, barely visible on the dark ground, but apparently freshly made.

Kerraen had been dozing on and off for most of the day. Some time in the afternoon though, he suddenly felt wide awake. 'Urrgh...' he grumbled as he sat up. 'Where am I?' Hearing his voice, the nurse bustled in.

'You're in the infirmary, dear,' she said with a small smile. 'Apparently they found you lying in the middle of the forest path unconscious and with that nasty cut.' She tutted at it.

'So... How long exactly have I been here?' Kerr asked.

'Oh, uh, about two and a half days,' she said. 'You sure do sleep a lot. Often happens to magicians when they overexert themselves.'

'What! That long?' exclaimed Kerr, snapping into Aen and scowling. 'And I am not a magician!'

'Then what are you? You don't look quite human,' she said, annoyed by his bad mood. Aen knew she meant his teeth and his eyes when she said he didn't look quite human. To change the subject he said, 'Well, I don't intend on staying much longer. See you.'

'B-but-' Aen ignored the nurse. He grabbed his rucksack from next to his bed and walked out the door and out the building. He frowned as he remembered what had happened.

Aen ran through the forest, knowing he was being chased. This had been happening several times recently. He didn't know why. He stopped, panting heavily, his sides aching. He had done a lot of running in his life, but this person chasing him was too fast to outrun, though he had tried his best. He leaned against the tree trunk, waiting for his hunter to arrive, knowing it was inevitable they confront. The hunter arrived. He wore a hood that hid his face, and he held a strange weapon that resembled a long piece of broken glass with a handle but it was dark and opaque. Whatever it was it looked nasty.

'So, the rat's finally stopped. Decided to face death instead of run from it, eh?'

'I am not a rat, you half-brained gnat. And I have no intention of letting you kill me.' Aen said, glaring at the man. He closed his eyes and emitted a humming noise, and slowly his features began to change, soon becoming a brown-green dragon, about twice the size of a man.

The dragon flapped his wings and rose into the air. He cast earth spell, making thorny vines emerge from the ground and claw at the hunter. While he was distracted, Aen swooped down and opened his jaws wide. The man turned his head abruptly to ace the dragon and rose his strange sword. Aen swerved to the left, but the sword created a long ragged cut across his wing. The dragon roared with pain and took off, passing the treetops and flying over the forest. He flew for several hours, and since changing into a dragon was one of the most difficult and tiring changes, he grew exhausted. He landed on a path with a large thud, and changed back into a human. He shuddered, his knees gave way and he collapsed.

Keyla knelt down to look at the markings on the floor. "Now, I don't know about any of this magic stuff, but these really don't look good. At all." She said after giving them a close look. She really wasn't the place to go to when it came to magical advice, in fact she had never even seen a spell, let alone used any, but her gut told her something was wrong. And she always listened to her gut.

She kept her Pudao out- partially to keep any adventurous creatures that happened to be down here away from her, and also just in case something else jumped out at them. She wasn't going to be caught off-guard. Not at all.

Tse walked over to where Maeve and the others were. She looked down at the markings. "Oh, sorry guys, " she said, looking more amused than sorry. "I forgot you don't read runes." She knocked on the door that these particular runes were in from of. "These basically say that I've claimed this room as mine. Keep out, forget the dog beware the owner, no tresspassing, and all that good stuff. Nothing special. THOSE however," Tse'Mara pointed over at a door down the hall. "I have no idea what they're all about."

The runes on the other door somehow were more ominous looking than Tse's crazy runes. They glowed with an eerie inner light. "I wanted to see what was inside, but I figured Maeve wouldn't like it if I accidentally unleashed something when she wasn't around to get mad, you know?" she shrugged.

"I wouldn't really like it more if I'm around," Maeve answered as she looked over to the other set of runes Tse was talking about. She walked closer to them, kneeling down beside them to take a better look.

"Hm, they irradiate some strange magical energy, nothing I've seen before," she said, passing her hand a few inches above the runes. "Before I make a fool of myself, is any of you responsible for those runes?" she asked, looking at the group.

Aen snapped back into Kerr and looked around. The Great Gated City was far more impressive than he had imagined. Few clouds circled above the busy city, with people bustling about, going on their business. He smelled fresh bread intermingled with lotus scent. The day was beautiful.

Kerr walked down the street, and an old building caught his eye. It had a sign saying Welcome to the Guild of Midorean Role-Players! Enter at your own risk. Kerr grinned at the challenge.

He opened the door quietly. No one seemed to be in. You look into a living room, empty except for a sleeping chameleon. He continued on until he saw a door leading to a basement which said it was under construction, though it had wooden board over it. Kerr shrugged and continued walking around the place.

((I could've sworn I made a post in here, but ah well))

Atraea blinked strangely at the wriggling mass in the cage. "When did we get a giant squid? Why was I not told? WHere was I--" she looked down at her mead, and chuckled. "Ha ha ha...oh yeah that." SHe was about halfway down the stairs when she heard the ceiling creak. "...Is someone upstairs?" When she got only shrugs from the people who were paying attention, she chugged her mead and shrunk back down to fairy size.

"I'ma go see who's upstairs." She went upstairs; a little orange glow bobbing drunkenly up the staircase and through a crack in the boards covering the basement. When she managed to squeeze her hips through, she saw a young man walking around. She flitted over to him, tugging at his shirt.

"'Scuse me, can I help you? You need to knock or something next time, this is private property ya know."

(((Forgot about this place to)))

Koyi took a sidelong glance as frisky which seemed to be wriggling even more now that she was close to it. She looked at the runes curiously. "I've never seen anything like them before." She stated deciding to go back up stairs getting loved on by frisky once was enough and there were people upstairs now so no need for her to stay in the basement.

((Sorta forgot about it too Sweat))

Maeve looked at the two others left standing by her side. "What do you say, we go back upstairs or we open that door and see what it's about?" she asked, looking at the path leading back to the guild and then to the mysterious runes and door.
If she had been alone, she'd have most likely went upstairs, at least to try to find something about those runes in one of the thousands books the guild had, but elementary politeness wanted her to ask before.

'Agh! A firefly!' yelled Kerr as he tried to swat at the thing flying up to him. Then he heard a small voice.

'Oh, uhh... You're a fairy? Yeah, um, sorry 'bout that.' Kerr grinned. 'But the sign outside... It didn't say this was private property. In fact, it was practically welcoming me in. So I just had to, ya know.' He looked around. 'And where did you come from? I haven't seen anyone here.'

((I assume I can still join?))

Name: Basil Skye (Bay for short)
Sex: M
Age: 18
Profession: Gypsy
Description: Basil has silver eyes and hair of almost the same color. He's petite (5'4) and naturally slender from a life on the road. His skin is a light chestnut brown that gets darker in the summer. Basil has large, dextrous hands and feet, is graceful and very agile. When he has enough energy, he has wings of filigree ice. His body is always cool to the touch. Heat has a soporific effect on him, and cold an invigorating effect.

Basil is mild-mannered and quiet. He doesn't tend to initiate friendships, but he isn't antisocial, just introverted. He doesn't manifest strong emotions often, but when he does, strange, wonderful, and dangerous things happen. Basil likes to dance, play music, and sing in true gypsy fashion. He also loves to hang out by the ocean.

Basil can control water, and especially, ice. He often forms tools or weapons out of ice, and when he gets upset, he cannot always control his power. Conscious (and unconscious) exercise of his power quickly drains Basil of energy and leaves him with a headache and no patience for anyone else.

Biography: Basil was always a gypsy. A few weeks ago, Basil decided that it was time for something new, so he left his troupe and traveled north.
Played by: ninjamaos

Basil was getting tired. He could tell by the way his muscles had begun to complain, and by the thin trail of melting ice that he left behind him, remnants of his now-tattered ice-wings. He supposed that at some point, he ought to seek out some food and a place to rest. But something drove him onward.

By the time he reached the strange-looking old house, it was almost too dark to see. Basil only just made out the sign: "Guild of Midorean Role-Players" . There was something below that, but he couldn't make sense of it. Basil huffed a sigh. He really had to rest. His wings, by now, were almost completely gone, lost on the road in a series of pathetic puddles. He might as well stop in here and see if he could beg a bit of floorspace for the night. After all, whatever had been driving him had suddenly lost its urgency; he almost wondered if it hadn't been the Guild itself that called him. Perhaps he was meant to end up here.

Basil stood at the door for a moment before knocking gently. "Anybody home?"
