For starters, my real name is Curtis. I'm a Christian in community college for graphic design technology. I wish to start webcomics with friends of mine in the real world. As per my goals both online and off, I'm pushing myself to get tied into the online networks for some exposure in the arts and in other relevant discussions. Heck, if Midorea needs more artists maybe it would be good practice, exposure, and business potential to try out a few things.

I'm also an avid Pokemon Player. Never played in the Video Game Championships, but I've played cards since the 08 tournament season. Almost got into worlds via the Last Chance Qualifier in that year, but was 2 places shy of making the cut. Due to financial reasons, I haven't bought new cards since the Stormfront expansion, and have stuck solely to the video game. I have a few personal favorite tricky strategies I like using on Soul Silver version.

Recently unemployed I have a bit more time on my hands than I'd prefer, but I feel I should do something productive with it, ya know?

So anyways, like I said, if anyone reads this monster intro post, let me know if my services might be useful and seeing as I have no rep I can offer some freebies to start and double it as maybe future class projects! Sneaky, I know :p

I played pokemon back during the original release of the league in america...that was ages ago and I haven't played in nearly 7 years.

I know what you mean. As far as cards, Wizards of the Coast ran a pretty shoddy scene from what I heard. PoP USA on the other hand runs the cards and tournament scene very well. I've made some awesome friends through the game.

My parents were corrupted by some really religious nuts though and they took everything i owned that was pokemon related the threw it away.

One of the reasons I despise Christianity...though not all of the people are crazy..

Ah I see where you're coming from. True, Christians can be their own worst enemy, and not to be preachy or annoying about it but my Christian friends are nothing like that. Heck, my Cell leader is probably playing World of Warcraft right now! I've even gotten pokemon related nickname among that social circle, but dignified ones based on my decks/strategies. At one point I was known as TBT, The Bermuda Triangle, for my 2008 deck that controlled the battlefield (but sadly still didn't win me into World Champs).

All in all about the Christian stuff, I'd say judge it by it's founder instead of its followers. That's what I stick to Smile

I played WoW for awhile...I was Ochuardon, The holy undead priest. lmao

I've forgotten how to make decks and the rules and the game itself has changed so much..

I suppose so...many don't like me because I'm a homosexual, they judge me before they even know me.

ANYWAYS...lol

hah well yeah that is one of the biggest points where Christians will make enemies due to their own attitudes. Personally, I don't condone homosexual behavior and such, but really who am I to judge you? Jesus made friends with fornicators, prostitutes and tax collectors and he's supposed to be the example I follow. You won't catch me hatin' ^_^

There have been a few points to Pokemon that have changed drastically, so much so that if you put an old school deck against a modern competition deck, your head would spin at how fast the modern decks set up. People prefer use of 1-energy attacks, or attacks that make use of the now reprinted (therefore tourney legal) Double Colorless Energy. Atop all that there's all kinds of between-turns effects that people can use, and whacky combos that nobody back then could have predicted.

Mhmm..

Yeah, its crazy..
I've been watching friends and people online opening and building decks with all the newest cards and what not..it makes me so jealous..

But I already told myself that if I were to get into pokemon cards again I would have to have a good job and start from scratch and try to get some of the old school cards and work up..

I am a collector at heart..back in the day I had the full sets for each card series up until the end of the original Silver/Gold sets...then everything happened and I wasn't able to collect them anymore...till I was like 18...but by then I wasn't really into it...but pokemon has gotten bigger and better since the remakes of Silver and Gold. <3

I did play Digimon..lmao...had a HUGE collection of their cards my parents didn't know about...but someone stole them from my bag when I was at school...the weasel wouldn't just give them back..

wait... Who steals Digimon? As for old school cards, there are few that are tourney legal. Pretty much Switch, DCE, Warp Point, Energy Switch, and maybe a couple others. Other than cards reprinted in current sets, only sets released AFTER "Diamond & Pearl Great Encounters" is legal. A lot of people were upset with the rotation since we lost the Claydol in that set... "Poke-Power Cosmic Power: Put up to 2 cards from your hand at the bottom of your deck and draw cards until you have 6 in your hand."

Collecting probably isn't as difficult as it used to be. The most valuable cards in the format right now (only because they're the most coveted in competition) are Uxie Lv.X and Luxray GL Lv.X, ranging in individual value around $60-80 I think.

Well the original Charizard used to be about what, 100? 120? (also legal due to recent reprint but near useless in competition)

Ah. Tell him to go to pokegym.net/
It's the competitive card community, and the people there even organize trades. I've got friends who have done it and gotten just what they needed in time for major tournaments.
