Oh my... if we can revive this one a bit, that would be pretty good. I'll try to think of something before going to bed.

-gleeful- Hurray, Elf Quest roleplay!
I'll have to think up a character and send my application then so I can join you guys^^

I totally understand school or work or other real life issues getting in the way of forum visitation. I'm a lot slower myself during the school week/year because of jobs and classes combined with homework and a social life XD
Sometimes I take a while to post because I get hit with a whomping case of writer's block, but if I can chat and plot with someone in an OOC thread like this that usually clears it up pretty quickly!

Any particular preferences on the type of character I bring in?

There really is no preference. As you might have seen, if you checked out the current list of characters, we've got a Go Back, a Wolfrider, and a human. We also had a random side character that anyone can use that's a Sun Folk.

Fee free to be what you please, as long as it fits in the guidlines.

We haven't done much, so sure you can join us, Seijre! The more, the merrier!

No particular preferences but we need some elves. Mostly so Ayoris can have a plotting buddy. Just read through the few posts we have to get an idea of the setting, and PM me your character.

Oh, I'm definitely playing an Elf. I'm a complete elf fanatic. I just have to decide which tribe I want and come up with a good character. I have to read through the roleplay first though XD

Edit: Ok, I'm curious about some plot points. One: did the tribes gather via the palace? That would make the most sense as to why they are all in one place now. If so though, where is the palace?

Also, are we assuming all the familiar characters from the stories have been killed off, even the immortal types? (although I seem to remember a character named Zhey, but I thought he was a go-back. Or maybe it was Zey without an 'h'. I'd have to go re-read New Blood to check)

It seems rather odd that the elves were driven from the frozen north into such a nice woodland place, but maybe that's just me. Also, what about the wave-dancers? Were they completely wiped out or are we just not worrying about them?

The role play character names Zhey is one of those coincidental things where a made up character has the same name as one of the original ones.

As far as we know, the wave dancers are still living in the ocean. We haven't really thought of doing anything with them.

The Go-Backs, however, were driven from their mountain by Rayek. (He got pissed off and drove them out with his crazy magics.) The Go-Backs, wanting to find the palace, (Which was missing in time, during this event) in turn went after the Sun folk with the Glider's hawks. (The Sun folk had a piece of the palace fashioned into a miniature palace as a gift for Savah.)

Now, as for the plot point as to how or why they ALL ended up in the same point, I'll be honest with you. The underground monkeys ate the script so now all we have left is to blame it on the humans. You might need to ask Keylaleigh the answer to that one.

Oh, I was guessing this story was taking place after all the cannonacal stuff. I know Rayek drove the Go-backs away once, but that actually divided the tribe, not sent them all away. They became nomads for a while, that's where Teir is from (from teh Wild Hunt stories). They eventually found a way around and rejoined those who were still up by the palace.

The war over the little palace in the New Blood series happens between Go Backs under the leadership of someone who isn't Kahvi (since they think she's dead at the time) and the Sun Folk under Dart and Savah's leadership. That is during the period of sleep for the Wolfriders, when Rayek took the palace to the future. For the most part, during this time period, the Go Backs aren't really mentioned aside from the attack on the Sun Village. Kahvi spends half the time wandering around learning her past and just being a general nuisance. (or well...being Kahvi)

If, as I am thinking, this roleplay is set after the 'Shards' series, the palace should be around somewhere. Either it is the 'holt' where they are all currently living (since it can blend into the land), or the cannon elves are actually elsewhere in the palace and our little tribe is one of those 'lost pockets' of elven-kind that Cutter and the others have yet to discover. A third option of course is that humans have once again taken possession of the Palace, but if that is the case I think the elves would be more inclined to fight to get it back.
This also means Winnowill is dead and her spirit is within Rayek, who is traveling the world in solitude with only Eukar as company, apart from everyone else. (Rogue's Curse)

The Go Backs in our story could very easily be remnants of the tribes Rayek drove out of the north so long ago though. Perhaps some Sun Folk also left the village. I mean, several went with Suntop in search of the Forever Green and Jethro stayed there (FireEyes). Why shouldn't others wander off at some point in search of somewhere else to live?

...Maybe I'm just over thinking things? XD

I didn't know that happened. To be honest, I didn't get that much futher into ther series than I stated. That's some crazy stuff happening.

Now Keyla did state somewhere that she had a general idea as to where she breaks away from the main plot line. I don't remeber where, though.

Overthinking things is not a bad thing. But sometimes it can get in the way of creative thinking. Or problem solving. Or something of that sort.

Sorry my brain is fried. My dog is having puppies right now.

I kind of guessed this story was somewhere in between the original stories about Cutter and his family and the elves of their tribes and the events of the Future when Jinx lives. I suppose I'll just wait to see what Keyla has to say about where and when this actually is though xD

I've read the entire storyline at least twice and own about 100 of the original comics, if not more. I adore this series<3 It's one of my oldest fandoms.
My favorite characters are Venka, Skywise, and Ember, although I'm also quite fond of Redlance, Brill, and Sunstream.

What kind of dog is it though? I hope the puppies are all healthy and such, no birth complications.

If I can recall correctly, she said it happens after Blue Mountain falls, but before they get into the whole set of mini stories and Palace drama.

It's an awesome series. I'm sorry to admit that I never finished it due to lack of time and funds. But Keyla did provide the link the the official site, so I can read them online. (When I remember.)

As for the puppies. We have American Bulldogs. Unforunately, the mother had NO meternal instinct. She startend going into labor at stupid o clock in the morning when we were asleep. She let one of her puppies die from drowning in its' birthing sack. The second was lucky to have it's sack break during birth. It would probably have passed away too if it hadn't screamed and gotten our attention. The current count is: 1 dead, 3 living.

Before the War of the Shards or before Rayek even takes the palace forward in time? I'm kind of trying to figure out the technology level of the current humans and the amount of sprawling their civilization has done and such. I still haven't quite settled on a character either, although I'm leaning toward wolfrider at the moment.

It sucks that you lost a puppy. I've heard quite a few stories of animlas that totally fail at having a maternal instinct. I guess there are sometimes people like that too though.

This roleplay is completely Non-Canon. I took the tribes and the world feeling, and put a different storyline to it. The only thing remaining from the original storyline of EQ is the fall of Blue Mountain. If you know ElfQuest, think of it as a "Worldpool" story.

My favorite elves in the series, though, are Tyleet, Windkin, Savah and Kahvi. My favorite chief is Mantricker, my favorite human is Little Patch, of the trolls I am fond of Oddbit, and my favorite preserver is Berrybuzz.

Okay, I considering makeing a side human character, just so that Maeve isn't just lying in the field forever.

And Ayoris is only biased against Dusk because the younger elf is a healer, and can speak fractured human. Isn't it? She doesn't like humans just as much as the Go-Back. *Raspberries)
