Is it part of today's event or something? I am no longer getting tongs from killing hawks. (I've killed three so far with no talon drop)

The drop is on - it's just not guaranteed to drop every time. As often as a Bag of Silver, in fact.

Ahh, could that mean that the HP and number it takes to get the items be turned back down? Or are they staying this way for the rest of the event?

I'm honestly not sure. That's up to Cat, but I would like to see something scaled back down one way or another.

So, give the strong level 1 hawk, say, 100 HP and 25 in the attack/defence attributes? (I think it's at 18 now?)

I've been battling for about two hours, so I think it's alright if I state my opinion on the talon thing.

The drop rate is way too low. Many people at level one don't have the experience - and thus, don't have the patience - that older members have with the battle system. After two hours, I got zero drops from the level one hawks. No one wants to deal with that, especially if this is their introduction to the battle system. The 15 requirement on top of that is outrageous considering the user doesn't run into a hawk every time, and even if they do, they're not guaranteed a drop. I suggest for the drops to become more common and for the requirement to be dropped to 10 talons instead of 15.

Honestly, I feel that to change the talon requirement to ten instead of fifteen NOW would pretty much suck. When it was changed from eight to fifteen, I don't think that many people had gotten them already, plus it was going up instead of down, so they got a deal, rather than getting screwed.

Unless everyone who got the items previously (for fifteen) are given an extra five talons for every item they got. :c

Funnily I had 8 talons just the moment it was changed, OR I was simply confused.... (I still am)
The first hawks gave talons like to 90% I guess (all but one), and then suddenly I had the eight, went to the quest giver, the talons were gone and it suddenly said "go and get 15" o_O
And now they won't drop somehow xD

I found out the level 1 red hawk (I think) that has 90HP always drops a talon after. The 75HP ones don't though. But then I'm level 2, so I have no idea what HP stats everyone else is getting when they fight, nor the red hawks' level.

The stronger level one hawks always drop talons and the weaker ones sometimes do.
