Name: Shelno
Sex: Female
Age: 16
Appearance: Thin, drab brown hair, with the tiniest hint of silver in the right light, and brown eyes; slightly tall; wears old clothes (jeans, T-shirt) with occasional rips; very thin, to the point where you can see a faint outline of ribs underneath her shirt. Crappy picture here http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc334/makzii/Shelno.jpg
Background: Shelno is a werewolf, and hasn't traditionally been accepted by people. Werewolves can change at any time*, a fact they kept secret from humans for fear of persecution, but when a community Shelno stopped in found this out, she was forced to flee earlier than expected. That was the town directly before this one. Now, she's come into the tea shop looking for food and something to eat.

*Terry Pratchett receives credit for this inspiration. His version of werewolves are my favourite.

Name: Jennak
Sex: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: Average height with a broad frame, and some muscle toning. Medium length hair, hides somewhat pointed ears, is black in color with what apprears to be very dark brown flecks in random intervals. Wears clothing stolen from humans that wandered into her territory. It usually doesn't fit, being more on the large side and sometimes in need of mending.
Background: Jennak is a jaguar demon. She avoids contact with humans except to maliciously harrass then when they enter her territory. Unlike weres, demons have a hybrid form that resembles a humaonid verion of their base creature. She was content to remain in and protect her territory from mortals. Jennak unfortunately has been told to journey away from her home tree and into the realm of humans. She only has a vague idea of where she's going and who she needs to meet up with, as she is illiterate.

The wolf trotting through the forest was strange, to say the least. For one, its fur was brownish in colour, with significant grey; for another, it had a bundle tied around its neck, which was slightly lumpy. Closer inspection would have revealed two more things: one, the wolf was female, and two, she was very thin. Through her fur, the outline of ribs could be seen.

At some point in her journey, the wolf stopped and sat on her haunches. A moment later, it was a teenaged girl there, her hair a slightly grey-ish brown, as thin as the wolf had been, with the bundle tied around her neck. She undid the knot that held it there, lifted it down, and unwrapped the drab bandanna that contained her possessions: old, worn clothes, a pair of shoes, and a letter. She picked up the letter and unfolded it.

She already knew what most of it said, so when she picked it up she went right down to the bottom, which instructed her on where to go. A moment later, she'd folded it again, packed her things away, tied the bundle around her neck, changed back into a wolf, and trotted off again.

Half an hour later, the wolf arrived in a clearing, sat down, and waited. Though it appeared she was doing nothing, she was carefully minding the scents around her, waiting for the scent of a demon. Eventually, she caught wind of it a couple kilometres east, and got up and trotted in that direction.

Up in the tree branches a dark shape traveled. The figure was feline in appearance, but the animal was far from its' usual territory. A couple hundred years ago, jaguars were as common as wolves in this part of the world. But they had been since been driven away to the edge of extiction. so, what was one doing here?

On a closer inspection, one would notice that this was not a regular jaguar. Jaguars don't have hands, and usually don't wear clothing. And they definitely don't mutter things to themselves while looking at crumpled pieces of paper.

The feline looked at the words that were currently upside down. She wondered why she hadn't eaten or destroyed the letter. It wasn't doing her any good. She couldn't read it. She only had the word of a raven demon as to the direction she was supposed to be head. She might as well follow that.

Stuffing the paper back into one of her pockets and continued west. She was bound to find her soon to be partner. Her face was set in a grimace as she tried to scent out the werewolf she was supposed to meet.

Eventually, the wolf smelled the scent of the jaguar demon so strongly she was sure she was just underneath her now. Jaguars were typically half a continent away from where she normally was, so she'd had to ask for a sample of their scent, but this was unmistakably it.

She changed back, cupped her hands to her mouth, and called upwards. 'Hey! Down here.'

The feline hissed, not pleased with practically being snuck up on. It had neglected to figure that other animal shape changers weren't arboreal like hers were. She decended gracefully, and landed before the werewolf still in her hybrid form.

The melanistic creature reguarded the were, then made a polite if not hesitant bow. It reverted back to a more human looking shape. To ease conversation. Her beast shape was powerful, but had a tendency to revert to a more bestial sound when riled up.

Shelno took off the bandanna around her neck and held it loosely in one hand. She wondered if she should dress, but if she'd be changing again quickly, it seemed like a waste.

'So, you're the person I'm supposed to meet.'

"So it would seem," The demon nodded. "I am Jennak. What may I call you?"

'Shelno,' the werewolf said. She jerked her head behind her. 'The designated meeting point was two kilometres west of here.'

"Oh," Jennak looked slightly relieved. "Then I was headed in the right direction."

'Well, close to it,' Shelno said, grinning slightly. 'Anyway, I guess the important thing is that we actually met, regardless of where.'

"I will agree with that," Jennak nodded. "It would be a shame if we missed each other. Probably be wandering around for ages."

"And speaking of," Jennak decided not to pull her notes out of her pocket. "Have you the directions of where we are to go, now that we've met?"

Shelno knelt on one knee and undid the bundle, taking out her note. She read through it. 'Uh...nope. Guess we need to go back to the clearing. Maybe we'll get further instructions there.'
