I think the tricky part for me was that I'm just used to a different site's set up (Solia). I am well aware that this is not Solia, but being extremely use to that site things were a little tricky to pick up on here. Plus most of the new users have come from solia because the site has been down for a few days.

For one, on Solia we're use to having the "watch" button host all of your watched/bookmarked links in one place (a little tab) that you can click on for easy access. I think this would be beneficial to this site at some point and is a really handy feature.

Secondly; there are no search options on MAD or on the site. Having a way to search items would be very helpful for new members. Not only would a search option me beneficial, but a way to read what an item is instead of what pose is being used would be great.
I can't stress enough how confusing it was for me to not realize/be informed that the example: "Mizu Draconem Elegant Crown" was the same as the Mizu Draconem Gala. I thought that they were completely different items that were part of the same set until I saw a little thumbnail picture in someone's shop.

Thirdly; the Price guide really needs to be updated. There have been several items from the Lotus festival that I can not find in there. Because of this I have no idea how much to offer on any of the event items and in result feel lost in the site.

Fourth; Though I recall hearing the answer to this, I have to agree with Lark *see below* that the large green question marks do make the site seem unfinished. Personally, I like a polished, well run avatar/forum site and the question marks don't help a ton.
In my opinion, it is less important for the monsters in the battle system to be finished than finishing icons for items in the shops. I'm a visual person and like to see things before buying them. And it's a pain to hunt for items in the MAD.

I'm going to be editing this as more things come to my attention. I think most of the Solian refugees have gotten over the culture shock.

My number one complaint with this site so far is all the missing images. The question marks in the stores and battle system really give the entire site an unfinished and unpolished feel. They make things harder to navigate for new members because we really have to pay attention and read to see the difference in those items.

Beyond that, as a new member, I've found that some of the guides are a little hard to find unless you've been linked to one. I've popped in and out of forums looking for threads I was in before, only to find them in places I wouldn't expect. (To me, a newbie help thread/guide belongs in the newbie forum, y'know?)

Other times, the contents of those guides is slightly ambiguous or incomplete. I know that rests mostly on the shoulders of the members who are not maintaining them but it's often left me with more questions than I went in with.

It confused me at first to join and not be able to create an avatar until I had created a character. If there is any way to not link those two together in such a way, I'd say you should go for it. I know I wasn't ready to create a character when I made mine, even after hunting for a battle guide that would tell a poor newbie how to do it and what characteristics would be best.

While using MAD, I found myself wanting for a search option so I could see all the poses on one item at one time. I kept liking poses from the same item and not realizing it at first.

The tabs in the avatar section of the site/MAD also tend to confuse me because they are not in the order I would have put them in, if that makes any sense. Putting them in clusters (like all the avi base-related things; hair, eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, and base) together would make sense to me. Or even just alphabetizing the list might work.

In MAD, also, I've noticed that once in a while, when I hover over an item for it's name and information the box will pop up in the lower corner of the browser window, where it cannot be read. Some items, also, like the olive branch laurel-things, do not list if they are a common, EI, ARI, etc.

One final thing, concerning the navigation of the forums... And perhaps it's just me... but I HATE that there is a forum called 'City Hall' and 'City Square'. I get them mixed up constantly because they both start with City.

I don't really think that a search option for MAD is needed. I listed what items certain poses came with before; all I have to do is go back and revise it. Currently, we don't have enough items to warrant such an extensive code.

We don't have the resources to work on those issues, so we can only address them in small amounts at a time. I would rather have the items without images than not have them at all anyway. ^^; Because that's the only other option.

The staff doesn't make guides for new members outside of the FAQ, so it's up to them where they go, what they contain and how they're written. I know that you're talking about a new member guide, which is run by a mod, but it was made before she was put on staff, so it's not the staff's concern. If you have more questions, try asking them to the guide writer or to someone else, and maybe they can be covered more thoroughly.

We'll see about addressing that. I think I have a plan for it.

The tabs are organized that way because it's the order that items are layered. All Around goes on the very top, and All Behind goes on the very bottom. It may be confusing if you're used to the way that another site lists them, but it's how we organize things. It may change in the future, or it may not. Personally, I like it this way, but that issue is up to the head admin.

Can you provide a screenshot of that issue? The box is designed to appear every time and be visible to the user. I can try to change the positioning. And the example seems like an odd mistake that I made. The box tells you what type of item it is and how much it costs if it's a common.

I'm sorry, but I don't know if that'll be changed. It's been like that since the beginning and isn't a really big problem. Just a matter of memorization.

Where are the rules? @_@ There's a sticky in the new members place saying [ye olde rules]... but those are just the rules for the forum. I can't find a list of official rules in any of the obvious places. orz
Suggestion would be making the rules in a more visible place

I just noticed where they were.. I knew that little navigation bar was there! O_O I just.. didn't notice it.. orz

Well, My biggest suggestion, and this is just a really really minor one. But you know how when you go into battle you can equip armor? Well, why not the weapon you'll be using. You can always switch later, but I've always wondered about that.
A Forum Search would be nice actually, so you can find who's selling what items quickly and efficiently.

And this one may already be here, but I haven't seen it, but is there a forum that describes what level you should be for what areas you can go battle in?
I was very weirded out when I switched locations and was told "There are no monsters here for you to battle." (or whatever it exactly was).

There is a forum wide search, located here:
http://midorea.com/search.php

Also there are no level restrictions for zones. It's just that some do not have monsters.
I suggest you battle in the Great Gated City, as this is where all the the "main" monsters are. Smile
