I am new, as well. O: I'm working hard on this. ^^;; It's an interesting place. I can't seem to figure out how to earn copper, though. Or use spells. D:

i cant help you with the spells since i've never bothered with them XD;

as for copper, its a currency that you earn in certain subforums such as the fun n games and storybook sections. it's only used in the newbie store i believe, but besides that you can exchange it for silver (5 copper = 1 silver)

I think some of your stats are too low to use spell.
If you check the Magicks shop, you should see the items looking like this:

Bacon Blast
Price: 15
Power: 5
Duration: 2 / 2
Min. Restrictions: Int [15]; Wis [15];

See the min. restrictions? If your stats are lower than that, you won't be able to use that spell. I think they all ask for 15 intelligence and 15 wisdom, except for the newbie spells (available at the newbie shop).

Although, I don't suggest fighting with spells. It will just take you lots and lots of money, since you will need to buy new ones all the time. A volleyball is the best weapon to start with, and then some event weapons or a tenro will be nice after you level up a bit.
