| Oh I hear you, Radio. I went to college in a town that was anti-chain. There was NOTHING in the town itself but local businesses, a few small restaurants, 2 whole goods earth foods stores and the farmer's market once a month in summer and fall.
There was a Kmart one town over, but it was almost 45 mins to an hour to get to the larger city which had everything, and getting a bus there was hard. Especially in the heavily raining weather.

| My college town isn't really anti-chain or anything, we have Wal-mart (would die without it) and McDonald's and all that stuff, but I heard something about how there was some kinda deal with Taco Bell where we can't have one. ;-;
We have this other place that's similar...but it's just not Taco Bell.

Oh gosh, I remember when your trips into town would take you hours... and you'd come back to the computer miserable... but only until you remembered you bought black olives. XD

| Omg! Olives in college were like...sweet nectar from the gods! They were a rare treat, especially during weekends and summers. Wow...memories. That and ice cream ...so so rare. And it was worse when I lived atop the hill and had to make sure not to buy too much or I wouldn't be able to carry it up! >.<
