Elizabeth tried not to roll her eyes. 'Rise,' she commanded him. 'Why do you always end up being there everywhere I go?' she asked more to herself than him.

[Yare]

Naldon stood. He kept his head respectfully down, but his pattern of subservient behaviour was broken by the question he asked. 'Er, Princess...Why are you here?'

[killerkitty]

'Erm...' Should she tell him? No, not yet. 'It is none of your business what princesses do in the middle of the night,' she said, urging Comet to move on.

[Yare]

(Sorry 'bout that, my internet was down for a few days.)

'Of course, Princess,' Naldon said hurriedly, bowing. Deciding he should be getting back to bed, in case he ran into the rest of the royal family as well - though Naldon doubted it - the young man decided to get back to the inn, which, coincidentally, meant he was travelling in the same direction as Elizabeth.

((doesn't matter, since I've been gone for several weeks; anyway, I'm back now!))

Elizabeth frowned slightly at him when he went in the same direction as her but said nothing. She kept Comet going at a steady pace.

[Yare]

Naldon followed along in an awkward silence. Mentally, he was beating himself up. He glanced up at Elizabeth's horse several times.

'Um...' he began. 'If you don't mind my asking, Princess...Do you have anywhere to stay for the night?'

[killerkitty]

'Er...' She had doubted she would have made it this far, so she hadn't really planned anything. 'No.'

[Yare]

'May I offer you a room at the inn, then?' Naldon asked, hoping she'd accept. 'I can explain to the innkeeper...'

[killerkitty]

'No,' she said sharply, 'No one must know. Not yet.'

[Yare]

Naldon jumped slightly. 'Then, should I hide you in the inn? She never goes into my room...I can offer it to you.'

[killerkitty]

Deciding there wasn't anything better, she said, 'Fine. Lead the way.'

[Yare]

Naldon nodded and went ahead. He lead Elizabeth around until they were at the back of the inn, and he opened the door. 'This leads right to my room,' he said. 'Go in. I'll take care of your horse.'

Elizabeth got off with care, trying not to make her backpack clink. She patted Comet before going in.

[Yare]

Naldon took the horse's reins and lead it to the stables. He put it in a stall to the far back, gave it a blanket, food, and water, and went back to his room. He knocked first, said, 'It's me,' to warn Elizabeth, and went inside.

Elizabeth paced the room. She knew she should get some sleep, it was certainly going to be a busy day tomorrow. She nodded towards Naldon in acknowledgement.
