I totally agree with you on that. It took me forever to actually pick a character, because you always just image yourself as the character you're reading about at that time.

Hm yeah. I might've picked a villain or a more dark and mysterious character cause having just a light and sunny story gets bland after awhile.
8u
And those characters are pretty fun.

That's a GREAT book, Tse! You're gonna enjoy it. I'm almost done with The Red Pyramid, the book from his newest series. My brother's friend lets me borrow them when he's done. And lemme say. It's different from Percy Jackson, but it still has the same feel to it.

I was meaning to borrow the Red Pyramid...
But, unfortunately, it seems a lot of people like the author so much...
That every copy in my library is borrowed... Sad

It's about Ancient Egyptian mythology and magic. If you've read Percy Jackson and the Olympians, it's very similar to that.

Good to hear. My Dad, the pain in the butt that he is, was purturbed that the Percy Jackson books focused solely on Greek mythology. He demanded to know what happened to the rest of the religions. When I told him that Riordan's next series focused on Egyptian mythology, he backed off a bit. But he still has qualms about reading it.

I think I'm going to add the How to Train Your Dragon books to my list of books to read next. I heard those were good.

If you would be a character in any book, who would you be?

Honestly, I'd have to say that I'd very much like to be Firekeeper, from Jane Lindskold's "Wolf" series. True, I'd be a barbarian, with little reguard with the matters of humans. But what else can you expect from a womans that was raised by wolves, speaks to beasts, kicks major ass, and still manages to have a childlike innocence about them?

Please read the books and don't see the movie. The books are so much better by comparison. They did a terrible job on the Percy Jackson movie it had potential to be good but they went way off base with the story line and added in things that shouldn't have been there at all. They also removed some key characters from the movie that had been in the books.

Truth be told, I can't wait until Riordan writes a series on NORSE mythology. I WANNA SEE LOKI!

Woot! Finished my first book for the challenge! Well, I finished it Monday, but now I've officially updated my list, which makes it official XP

Gah, I need to put my hands on some good books.
I've been wanting to re-read the Vampires Chronicles from Anne Rice for a while, and then I want to read Twilight, just to get my own opinion of it (because yes, I haven't read those yet).
There's also that series on the Arthurian legend... and yay for me forgetting its name! XP
And then maybe some Tolkien's books, or maybe I'll try to go through the Forgotten Realms collection. Well, part of it anyway, since I'm guessing they must be close, if not over, 100 books by now.

I really need to go to the library soon to see what they have Hai
