| I am hopelessly addicted to feathers. Nothing about them, really, and I don't ever do anything with them, they're just pretty! Paintbrushes too. If there were one unique, utopian room for each person in the world, mine would be filled with paintbrushes and feathers. D:
I'm also a huge fan of movie soundtracks. I can absolutely HATE a movie, but chances are I'll like at least half of the songs from the soundtrack.

| I LOVE Kung Fu Panda. I'm kicking myself that I didn't go see it in the theaters, because I was put off by the choice of Jack Black. Then I got it on a whim from Netflix and was totally blown away by how fantastic it is. Shows that you really can't judge a movie just by the actors.

| One of my guilty secrets is that I watched all the Twilight movies after burning them on almost any given time they're mentioned in front of me...
I have to admit that its not a horrible series...just has some horrible characters and stupid plots.
Remove those and you have a decent set of movies/books.

| My point exactly, ecco. xP Same applies to Avatar. (No one debate me on this - let me have my opinion in peace.)
One of my recent guilty pleasures is that Paris Hilton best friend show. o_o I DON'T KNOW WHY, I JUST CAN'T STOP WATCHING IT.

YOU REPLACE THEM WITH SOMETHING BETTER!!!
Bella is a useless character..
The plot is just a teenage girls wet-dream.
I can't relate with this garbage but its forced upon me by the media..
Why can't we have a Team Branny?!
Everyone, join Team Branny!

| i'm just Team Avatar
i can understand peoples negative opinion on it, but to me Avatar is simply stunning. yes, the plot is nothing new, but the same can be said about almost ALL new films. so i find it unfair to dig on avatar for that. :/

| I think that Avatar is visually stunning too - there's absolutely no denying that. Raz and I ended our avatar debates for good by reaching the agreement that the story aspects of avatar are sub-par, but the visuals and effects are so stunning that you really can't rightfully deem it a bad movie. I still don't like it - when critiqued by my standards it really is bad - but even I can't deny that it's a good movie.
Then again, I hate 99.99% of all modern movies because I look for depth, development, and story/character quality, so I can't really fairly critique anything. I'm a very slim minority.
Anyway, back to the topic. When I was younger, I had a lot of guy friends. We all watched and talked about Pokemon and Dragonball Z, but y'know what my favorite anime was? Sailor Moon. Anime in general always used to be a guilty pleasure for me. My family made fun of Dragonball Z and such because it was rough and brainless and my friends made fun of me for watching Sailor Moon because it was girly. Obviously I don't care much now (by the way, I'm on episode 75 of Sailor Moon again) but I was so mortified when anyone caught me watching it. XD

| hahahaha i watched my anime with pride! over here, all we ever got when i was growing up was pokemon, digimon (which they stopped showing half way through season 3. grr!) and cardcaptors!! one channel also started showing sailor moon, but they stopped it after like 3 episodes...
and about movies in general; after studying film, i've come to the conclusion that there are different ways in which a movie can be "good". it can be a genuinely amazing film - great plot, great characters & their development, it has something to say... the kind that leave you with your jaw on the floor after you're done watching.
and, then theres films that are good PURELY on entertainment value. they dont have a great story, theyre kind of stupid and naff, but they are simply enjoyable to watch. and you could argue that that is entirely what movies are for. or, you could argue theyre for getting an important point across, like the former description of a good film.
guess which one i put avatar into? XD its just SO MUCH FUN. AHHHHH.
tho saying that, i cried so hard about the tree lol

| I know I was gonna let it go but one more comment: I agree with you, ecco. That's exactly what Sam and I agreed upon too. Movies are meant to be entertaining; save books for the deep shit. If you happen to find a good mix then that's great, but don't expect everything to be that way.

| yea, exactly
also, i am just happy that Avatar threw titanic off the top spot at the box office... i know they are both by James Cameron XD that lucky duck. but titanic just... uhhhh, the boat sinking is exciting and suspenseful and all but i hate the characters. Avatar is so much better so im glad it did better in the cinema hahaha.

| I don't really have anything that I would consider a guilty secret. I like a lot of things that not a lot of other people seem to enjoy, and I really don't care that they don't. I may get looked at oddly, or even talked about, but I'm pretty open about what I like and don't like.
