Corvus nodded and flew back up to the nest. In the far corner was a large drawstring bag with a few yards of cloth, a pad of paper and a pen. It was all she really needed. She had a hard time with backpacks during flight, so she had a few large drawsring bags made that she wears around her neck while flying. She wasn't flying right now, so she decided to hold it instead.

"Thank you for reminding me. Sometimes I have a bit of a bird brain as well." She chuckled. She couldn't stand her laugh, because it always sounded like a crow call than a laugh. "Now, I have one question- what's going to happen to the nest?" It really was on her mind at the moment, mostly because she liked salvaging the twine for the next time she needed to build a nest quickly.

Jordan watched Corvus return to her nest. She must have had lighter bones, to allow for flight. That meant she was far more fragile than the puma woman, who currently had greater bone and muscle density in her untransformed state. They would need to be careful not to get into a fight with the norms, or each other.

The crow mutant returned sooner that the puma woman had expected. The ammount of items the girl has was a bit shocking. But then, when one lives in a nest, what else could they possibly keep? "You're welcome," she replied. She grinned, relieved that it was too dark for Corvus to see her expression. She became serious at the question. Not being cross bred with an animal that used such things, she really had no idea what to do. "Um. That's a good question. What do you usually do with your nest if you're going to leave it?"

"Usually I deconstruct it right before I head off, scattering the natural materials and packing the twine away for next time." Corvus stated. She had a method when it came to these things, to keep from getting caught. She had become very careful when it came to the locations and deconstructions of her nests. She tried to pick out-of-the-way places, but Jordan proved that this place wasn't as out-of-the-way as she thought.

"So... will I have a chance to return later? Or should I do all of that now?" She asked. She really didn't want to wait around if she wasn't going to use it anymore, but if leaving now was best, she would come back around evening to get the job done as quickly and quietly as possible.

There was still a number of hours left in the evening before they needed to worry about running into anyone. If they waited too long, they might have a problem with people on their way home from the bars. But they'd be too drunk to care, right? "It would probably be a better idea to take it apart now. I don't know if we'll get a chance to come back to do it later," Jordan scratched her chin, looking up at the nest.

The puma studied the construction of the nest. It looked simple. But when dealing with mutants, looks were decieving. "Would you like some help with taking it apart? Or would I just be in your way?" She figured she would offer to help. It was more polite that way. Worst that could happen was for Corvus to say 'no'.

Corvus nodded. "I'll undo the ropes and pack them away. Could you help scatter the wood?" Not waiting for an answer, she went back up to the nest and looked for the knot she made. She always put it on the back edge of the nest so it would be easy to find. Once she felt it, she used her claws to carefully undo it. The knot came loose, and she started winding the rope and putting it in the duffel bag.

Slowly, the sticks started to fall to the ground. "Watch out below!" She shouted down as the larger ones started to come loose. After about seven minutes, the nest was completely deconstructed and she was winding the last of the twine into the bag while she was perched on the bare branch.

Jordan watched Corvus as she began to disassemble the nest. She figured she had been pressganged into helping out. The puma hybrid was careful not to get hit by falling wood, as she gathered pieces to be carried away. The larger pieces were carried to random spots where she didn't think anyone would notice that they were slightly out of place. But then, who would notice extra wood in a forest?

She was only halfway done by the time Corvus was finished. Jordan wanted to be thorough, which meant she took a bit longer than the crow woman probably thought was necessary. She looked up when she noticed that wood had stopped falling. Sure enough, there was Corvus, perched up high, like, well, a bird.

Corvus glided down to the ground. "Well, that went faster than I thought it would." She picked up a few pieces of wood and chucked them deeper into the forest. She didn't want to move too far away due to vision problems, and didn't really care where the wood went, as long as it wasn't in a concentrated pile. She had done that before, and was almost discovered by some nosy park rangers.

She made that mistake less often now, and it was good to have somebody helping her. Most of the time, she did this sort of thing by herself and it took about twenty minutes to a half an hour. "Thanks, Jordan." She looked over at the feline. "Now, shall we head off?"

Following Corvus's lead, Jordan began throwing random bits of wood into the gloom of the woods. The going went much faster, when she began doing so. Upon their completion, she gave her companion a nod. "You're welcome. Glad I could help out," she replied. She looked up at the sky, as well as she could through the trees. It was still a number of hours before sunrise. They should be safe to travel.

"Yeah, we should go, before we get halted by something else," the puma hybrid responded. She turned and began to walk in the direction of the warehouse she had been directed to. "Do you think you you'll have any problems walking in this light? Or do you think you would you need a hand?" Jordan inquired.

Corvus put out her handlike claws up. "I can kinda see, but it's still kind of hard. Just direct me to where I need to go." She squinted, trying to see if she actually could see something, but everything still looked kind of blobby. "Oh, what am I saying? I need some help." She held out a claw in Jordan's direction.

She hated having to depend on somebody, but it was better than stumbling with no clue as to where she was going. Jordan did know where, though. When she got to where she was going, she would write a note to the Renegades. Let them know she was one step closer.

Jordan paused in her steps. She turned to face the crow mutant, her ears shifting about. She couldn't imagine what was going through her companions head. Corvus probably had instincts that were telling her to be asleep, or to flee from the feline mutant. And yet she stayed, here in the dark, with a puma mutant to guide her.

Tenatively, Jordan held out her hand and took the bird woman's taloned hand in her clawed one. "Okay, I'll give you a hand. We shouldn't have too many problems once we're out. Hopefully, there'll be enough light for you to be able to see." The hybrid paused for a moment, as she began to lead Corvus away. "Sorry I don't have a light. I didn't think to bring one, seeing that I usually don't need one. I didn't figure I'd find someone that did."

Corvus shrugged. "What can I say? I surprised you." She was delighted to hear that it would be brighter out soon. She really needed to add some nocturnal birds to her forces, but that would be done a little later. Right now she had business to get to.

As they were walking, all sorts of thoughts went through her head. Once she got to wherever they were going, she would record her progress and then finally get some sleep. Hopefully she would get into the Guardian's hideout sometime tomorrow. She was patient, though, and if it took longer, she would wait.

"You certainly did," Jordan replied to the surprised comment. She didn't want to let Corvus know that she had secretly been hoping for a mutant that was more familiar. Though, if the mutant in question had gone feral, there was no way to know how well, or poorly, an encounter with them would have gone. The puma hybrid shook the thoughts from her head. She had a mission to complete.

Her sense let her know that there, suposedly, wasn't anyone besides the two mutants around. She supposed she could continue a conversation, maybe get to know the other girl a bit. Her other half interruped her train of thought.
She's defenseless. Kill and eat her. A small, but agitated, sound rumbled deep in her chest. No! She's a person and I'm not going to eat her! Jordan swallowed hard, hoping that Corvus hadn't heard. "So, mmm, where are you from?"

Corvus pondered a bit on how she would answer the question. She didn't want to lie, but she couldn't tell the whole truth. Eventually, she came up with something. "Philadelphia." She replied. "My memory's a bit foggy about where I actually came from, but I've lived on the streets of Philly for most of my life. In the lesser-traveled alleyways, of course."

She didn't know what the panther girl's reaction would turn out to be if she told the whole truth. The fact that she was lab-created for a mafia boss, and her life was actually quite good until the humans came and ruined everything.

Jordan didn't know anything about Philadelphia. So she couldn't guess what living conditions were like. But they had to have been alright if Corvus was able to survive so long without being caught. But, for some reason, it didn't quite add up. Mostly it was because of the inhuman appearance her companion had. And the ammount of hesitation before the other mutant answered. But then, how much would she say if the tables were turned?

"So, are you a natural?" Jordan asked curious. She considered opening the channel so that Dr. Black could hear at least part of the conversation. But she didn't know how well that would work. She would need to get in touch with the doctor soon, anyway. She didn't want the woman to get worried.

Recap. due to rollbacks:

Jordan and Corvus exited the woods and headed down the streets, taking cover behind anything that was casting a large enough shadow. Realizing she couldn't follow well on foot, Corvus took to the sky, flying just above the lights. She followed Jordan from there.
Reaching a quiet spot, Jordan contact Dr. Black to ask for information about what she should do next.

Dr. Black jumped as a voice resonated through the speakers of her computer. She had soon realized that it would be useless to just stand there and wait for a call, so she had decided to put some order in her documents. She always tended to get absorb in her work... She sighed as she recognize Jordan voice. At least the girl was still able to speak, which was good. And she was bringing someone to the warehouse. Interesting... the woman thought before she answered.

"The warehouse should have all the commodities for a small stay, bed, restroom, food and the like," she answered to the girl, pressing the button that activated her microphone. "So, once there, the person you are bringing with you should wait for one of us to show up. It shouldn't take long, but anyway."

The blond doctor paused, wondering if she needed to add anything. After a few seconds, she spoke again. "You can then decide to wait with them, or return to the base. Just do what you think is best in the situation. And whatever you choose, just let me know, so that I can react accordingly."

With that, she released the button of her mic. She would still be able to hear what Jordan had to say as long as the connection stood, but the girl would not be able to hear what she was doing. Distractedly, the doctor grabbed a nearby sheet of paper. A list of name and contact information could seen on it. The woman started to read through them, wondering who she could send to the warehouse...
