What you need to know: I'm Jay. I'm going to be coming into a lot of free time so I want to join a roleplay. I prefer one on one but I can also do small group things, which I'll count as up to four people including me, but I'd really only want three unless the story needs another.
I do both original and fandom roleplay. Before you scroll past the fandom after seeing none of the things you like, consider this: for some fandoms, I'm perfectly willing and able to play with only original characters, only using the setting and world rules. I would prefer that as opposed to a purely original game, simply because I find it easier when there's a more common universe we can look up for rules on magic, powers, whatever.
As for my style, I can go anywhere from literate to advanced literate. I prefer quality over quantity, so I never really got into writing five pages per post about how my character's hair flowed in the wind. That really isn't good writing anyways, only the effect of focus on word count as opposed to plot and characterization.
I love making profiles for my characters, and will probably want to do that if possible. It just tells us a little of what to expect form the characters, and I find it gives me a better idea of what I'm supposed to be doing.
Before we start, we should probably set down some guidelines, some basic plot, etc. We don't need to know every detail, just a little something, maybe an idea of who might die if anyone.
When it comes to the characters I play, I usually create male characters, but am perfectly willing to play female as well. I am fine with any romance, and am willing to double. (Above, when I say four people, I mean four posters, not characters. More characters than four is okay, but anything above six has the risk of getting hella confusing.)

| FANDOM INTERESTS
General notes: I love AU/AR things, ranging from all original characters to original character X meets the Avengers and joins, whatever. I particularly find apocalypse situations fun, so House fighting off zombies, Wilson gaining super powers, and Chase (or maybe JD from Scrubs, cough, cough,) growing wings is fine. Also, there are very few parings I reject outright, even (sometimes especially) when it comes to things I don't want to happen in canon.
DC COMICS : Right now, I'm particularly into Green Lantern, and am more familiar with those plot lines and characters. I don't really expect to find anyone into roleplaying as comic book characters, but if you like anything here say something, by god.
HOUSE : House is love, plain and simple. I don't really have any ideas at the moment, but thought I would throw this out here. Maybe an AU with Cameron/House? I don't know why, but that sounds cute. Or not, whatever. Just throw something at me if you have an interest.
MARVEL COMICS : If I'm going to mention DC, I've got to mention Marvel. I'm not too familiar with anyone around here, but I do like Iron Man and Captain America, so sure. As a side note, I'd probably be more comfortable in movie-verse simply because I know what the hell is going on. But I'm not seeing Iron Man 2 for a few days, so nix the info on that until next week, kay?
OCEAN'S 11/12/13 : I really love these movies and thing roleplaying with these characters would be great.
SCRUBS : This would have to be AU from an earlier point in the series, because I'm not to familiar with the plot. But any character is fine, as I'm pretty comfortable with them.
STAR TREK : Really, just The Original Series characters for me. I like Kirk/Spock, but will perhaps do other things. I'd also be comfortable mucking around a little in The Next Generation or the new movie. (New movie crew meets Q?)
THE ELDER SCROLLS : I love both Morrowind and Oblivion. I love them to death. Let's play around in that world, shall we? We could use some NPCs, or original characters, or throw it into the future, whatever. OR MAYBE WHAT IF MEHRUNES DAGON HAD WON?
I can't think of anything else right now. but I may or may not update this.

| ORIGINAL INTERESTS
Might I suggest we play in one of the worlds previously mentioned? Well, if not, there's still hope. We can world build and everything. Note: most of these things in one way or another are apocalyptic. I like my humor black, and I like almost anything to have a bit of humor. Also, I deal a lot with relationships. Not necessarily romantic, but any sort. I feel they're important to my plot lines.
ALIENS/SPACE : Things pertaining to space travel and aliens are great. Maybe aliens exist, and they're in our backyard. Maybe we're in theirs. Or a middle ground, a space outpost. We could be smugglers of artifacts and drugs, or hapless scholars who always get in the wrong place at the wrong time. We could totally go space opera. The only limits are that of universe x imagination^2.
CHANGING WORLD : People suddenly becoming fantasy creatures or developing magic? How about superpowers? Loathe your new need for robotic implants? Then do I have the plot for you! Well, not really. I don't have a plot. But these things are a bit fun, and if you like the sound of them or something similar we may be able to work something out.
FUTURE DYSTOPIA : We're in the future and life sucks. Specifics can be worked out later.
ROMANCE : Believe it or not, every once in a while I like something sweet. This can just be on it's own and all about the romance, or added with anything else.
ZOMBIE/VIRUS : I want to do something with zombies. A few characters fighting to the end, I think. Or something completely different. At least a few should die, so it'd probably be best to double so that you've still got one by the end. (Or we can all die at once!) Also, any other virus thing goes here, as well as I suppose nanotechnology, for what that's worth.

Hey, people can post now. Not that anyone here will find much interest in my
plot lines.
I need to go to sleep. I have finals tomorrow so I have to wake up early. But
I'll check back sometime tomorrow afternoon (maybe 2-3:00 PM EST).

| Ooh! Totally going Space Opera piques Keylaleigh's interest something fierce! I'd just need a storyline and character. You have any ideas?

Well, no. Not really. I suppose it depends on what element we're going for
here, are we going to focus on the big action space opera, the romance in
the stars aspect, or some mixture?
Either sounds like fun. What kind of character do you normally like to play?

| The mixture is always the best, but with a little more action than romance.
As for the character, it really depends on the roleplay and what kind of character it needs, but I have my two sci-fi characters. One's a Mafia Princess, and the other's a wannabe rebel/juvenile delinquent.
If you would like something else, I can come up with something different.

We could probably work with one of those.
I don't have an idea yet, sadly. Normally hearing characters will give me
one, but this idea seems particularly stubborn.
I kind of want to play a pilot, though. That loves his spaceship, flying out in
the stars, all that. I'm not sure he's a straight hero, more out for himself, but
I know he'll eventually be like, "CHRIST. Guess I have to save the alien
children from the burning building. If nobody else is going to do it, I
mean. Bunch of savages out here."
And I guess he'll stress words a lot, according to my liberal use of italics
and bold up there? I dunno about that, though. Just a thought.

| Well, in that case, the Juvenile Delinquent might work a little better. She should have to come along with him because of community service or something like that. Once again, not the heroic type, but she will eventually come around and stuff.

Well, perhaps, I suppose. I wasn't really thinking he was a pilot for anyone
specific, especially the law, but yeah, that can work. If there's like a huge
army of some sort in space (cough-Empire-cough) then he might join, if he
knew he could just make himself . . . forgotten about in the system. His
fail-safe can't always work, though. So he's saddled with this kid.
How old is she, anyways? And what kind of dynamic should these two have?
(Obviously, I don't mean to say what it'll be the whole time. It'll change, just
a rough starting point, and maybe where you want them to be by the end.)

| Well, she's usually almost an adult, so 16-17. And it could be a sort of punishment for both of them. I was watching the Color of Magic, and one of the characters stole something so they were forced to be a tour guide.
My Delinquent was originally made as a fancharacter for the British Sci-Fi Blakes 7, where she had built up quite the criminal record, so she was sent to a penal colony the moment she turned 18. This could be a little before that, or... I have a better idea.
She could be a stowaway.

I really like the idea of her being a stowaway. Then, my guy doesn't have to be in any group like the military. She can just somehow get to his ship, and he'll be like, "FUCK. " He won't kill a kid, and he's reformed from his criminal ways at this point.
But they somehow get caught up in something big. So he can't unload her on the local space cops or whatever, and hey have to learn to survive together. Just an idea, though.

Indeed, then. What the big event is, however, I have no clue. It'd have to
implicate them in something illegal, so that he can't go to the police, yet
keep them stuck in the area they're in so that they can't go to anyone else.
Or there can be bad guys chasing them, so they have to run. His criminal
past will mean that they won't believe him when he says he's done nothing
wrong, and they'll be all, "You've kidnapped this child blah blah blah," then
arrest him.
