Rhadamanthys woke up to the sound of an old hymn being hummed, and smiled. Slowly, he woke up and got changed quietly. Today he decided on a pair of grey dress pants and a black tee shirt with a large silver cross. "Good morning." he yawned, walking up to the angel-in-training. "Did you sleep well?" He chuckled and walked over to the fridge. When he opened it, he saw that all he had was a bottle of ketchup, the rest of the milk, and a few slices of bread. "I have to go get some groceries later." He muttered.

"Well, we're eating out this morning!" he looked over at Vyvyanna. "I know a really nice little diner down the street."

"I slept as well as I could." Vyvyana answered, after she finished humming. She diverted her eyes again as Rhadamanthys dressed and began to wonder if she was to wear the same outfit as the day before. "I'm worried about the presence and how much trouble having me here will be."

"Maybe I'll just drink some warm milk." She replied with a smile. "I'm not too hungry." Removing the blanket, she stood up and stretched. She walked over to the table and offered to help him with grocery shopping.

"Well, I'll order some milk for you, then. I'm starved!" He laughed. Looking outside, he had a strange feeling that it might be kind of chilly, so he grabbed a hoodie from his closet and threw one to Vyvyana. "It's going to be kind of cold, so you should put this on."

"And don't worry. You won't be much of a burden to me." He smiled. "I may have fallen, but I'm still able to hold my ground." He looked over Vyvyana. "Yeah, you do need a new set of clothes, don't you? I don't think I have anything that'll fit you quite right, but I'll find something."

He dug through his closet, eventually pulling out a plain green top and some black sweatpants. "Try these on. The pants may be a little loose, but the shirt'll be alright." He laughed. "We'll head to the thrift shop to find things that are more your size later today. I don't know exactly how long you'll be hanging around, but you should have some clothing while you are here."

Vyvyana smiled as Rhadamanthys exclaimed he was hungry. She nearly dropped the hoodie that he had tossed her. Its fabric felt sturdy and she had wondered just how cool the day was going to be.

"You have be extremely kind to me. I thank you. I hope that I am not here for too long." She said as he went rummaging for something for her to wear. When he handed her the green shirt and black pants, she looked around for a good place to change. "I hope it doesn't bother you if I ask where I should change at."

"The bathroom's over here." He opened up a door to the side and motioned to it. "And really, It's no problem. I've never had guests before and I want to make sure that I'm doing everything correctly." He put the hoodie on. It was a plain white hoodie made out of a sturdy material, and would be perfect for the day.

"Oh yes, I was thinking..." Rhadamanthys looked over at Vyvyana. "You're going to need a more human name. "Vyvyana is a little odd for these parts."

Vyvyana walked into the bathroom and changed in the clothes given to her. The shirt fit her loosely and she was glad for that. The sweatpants weren't as baggy as she had thought they would be. But to be safe, she tightened the waist band by tying the cord into a knot. Coming out of the bathroom, she modeled the outfit off to Rhadamanthys.

"Odd?" She said with a frown. She was always fond of her name. "What should I go by then?"

"I dunno... you could always do what I did. After listening to a few human names, I invented one that sounded like a normal name. For you... I'd say Vivian White." He smiled. That sounded like it would work. And at least White was an actual surname, unlike Manthys. "You can be an out-of-state cousin coming to visit, or some other believable story."

Rhadamanthys smiled at the fact that the clothing fit a little better than he thought it would. "You look lovely." He said. "Now, how about we get some breakfast?"

Vyvyana blushed as he complimented her looks. "Vivian White works for me. And thank you." She smiled widely as she walked towards the front door. Her stomach grumbled some and she frowned. It seemed like warm milk wasn't going to be enough.

"Let the way, please." She said as she opened the door and waited for him to walk out with her.

"Very well then, Vivian." He held the door open for the angel, smiling. He heard her stomach grumble, but didn't react. He had a feeling that she would want to eat. The only thing she had gotten in her since she landed on earth was a cup of hot chocolate milk and some warm milk. She was sure to be hungry.

Vyvyana, or Vivian now, tried her best to keep up with her "cousin" as they made their way to the diner. The street was somewhat empty with the exception of a few people opening shop or delivering newspaper. A young boy pedaling on his bike tossed her a rolled up paper and she glanced at Richard. She wasn't sure if she was to keep the paper or leave it on the doorstep of the thrift store that she was in front of.

"Just put it on the doorstep over there." He pointed to the doormat with a large sunflower on it. "Mr. Fergusson likes his morning paper, and wouldn't like to see somebody walking off with it." Rhadamanthys grinned. "The diner's just up this way a little bit. That's why I love living on Main Street- you're close to everything in town!"

The diner was a small establishment with a kitchen that had a counter surrounded by stools and tables scattered around the place. A sign that read 'The Little Corner Kitchen' hung above the door, and laminated papers were stuck all over the windows, displaying their many specials that they had from six in the morning until two in the afternoon. "And here we are!" He walked inside and the waitress showed them to a table immediately.

"Out of food again, Rich?" The waitress laughed. She saw the young man at least once a week when the fridge was bare.

"Of course, Natalie! I'll probably go down to the store later today." He laughed.

"I'll be right back with a menu for you and your girlfriend." She smiled, looking at Vyvyana. "You're lucky. A lot of girls in town have their eyes on Rich. They'll be upset to learn he's no longer single."

"Oh! She's not my girlfriend!" Rhadamanthys blushed. "Natalie, this is my cousin Vivian. She's visiting for a week."

A look of relief seemed to wash over the waitress's face. "Oh. Hello there, Vivian!"

Vyvyana left the newspaper where he pointed. She smiled at the wave of excitement and happiness he radiated when talking about living close to everything. It was understandable as she was happy to be so close to the places as well. It would be helpful as she worked up her stamina for walking.

When they walked into the diner, Vyvyana looked all around and admired how comfy it felt being there. Following the waitress to the table, she sat down across from Rhadamanthys. When the woman commented on her being his girlfriend, Vyvyana felt a sudden warmth flush across her face.

"Hello, ma'am." She said with a smile. Vyvyana wasn't sure what all to say. She could feel the relief of learning that Rhadamanthys was still single coming off the woman and she was sure there was that bit of jealousy beforehand. But jealousy was a rare emotion that she had dealt with.

"Why are you single? If all these women like you..." She asked him after the waitress had left.

Rhadamanthys shrugged. "I guess I haven't found the right person yet. Plus, I don't want them getting upset once I leave this town." Getting into a relationship with a human was risky. He never aged, and she would have questions after a few years. And in case anything dark was keeping an eye on him, he didn't want to get a mortal in trouble. He could take a dark force himself, but he didn't want to look after somebody who had no power against them.

His thoughts were interrupted by Natalie placing menus on the table. "Here you go. Just flag me over when you guys are ready, okay?" She walked off to another table to talk to one of the other regulars.

"I forgot about that..." Vyvyana replied, looking down at the table. It had to be a lonely sort of life to not have someone to spend it with. Human or fallen angel, both deserved love. Of course, she knew that relationships were frowned upon when you're an angel or divine being. So it was safe to assume that Rhadamanthys was still in the same mindset as that. "How much longer are you planning on staying here?"

Vyvyana watched as the woman placed the menus down and flitted to another table. Picking the menu up, she scanned the selections for one that would jump out at her.

"I'll probably hang around here for about seven years, then move on to the next town." He said as he leafed through the menu. Creamed chipped beef sounded wonderful today, with some cranberry juice. "But that's if nothing too weird happens. My time will be significantly shorter if I attract unwanted attention." He sincerely hoped that would not happen.
