TOTALLY AGREE on the small fonts. For some reason, people seem to think that using a smaller font makes you sound more intelligent (I've actually had people say that to me). O.o It doesn't make you sound any smarter, it just makes me skip your post because I hate having to squint to read something. I'm old and blind.

There is some validity to this, but its mostly just applicable to print. Standard reading font size is 8-10 pt. 12pt and up are considered headline size and should be used for 12 words or less. 12 is usually way too much for a headline however.
Internet changes this because of varying resolutions, and having fonts that are too small, or too big are more often rude than as witty as intended.

| I'm sorry Weaseldale. I know you're nice and all, but my eyes hurt every time I see one of your posts.
For the record, I think tiny fonts are retarded. I mean, making your text deliberately difficult to read defeats the purpose of publishing on the public web. (In other words, the idea of posting on the web is to reach any and all readers.)
If you want to obscure something you have to say, either a) Don't post it. b) Post in private. Or c) Use spoiler tags so at least you're not using an eye-destroying teeny font.

| It's hard to say, I'm not around here much so the colors that are usually annoying on other sites aren't always the annoying ones here because of the contrasts with Mido's layout. x3;;; Bright/light fonts still seem to be pretty hard to read though.
And OOF, I actually prefer small font to large font! Small font is crazily difficult to read but at least it's not gigantic and out of place.

I like smaller font because I think it's much more pleasing to the eye, so that's why I choose to use it. As for colors, I prefer dark red or dark gray, depending on the background color. I cannot stand yellow, neon green or violet. I'll highlight, but it's a pain in the behind.

| The yellow font color on here makes my eyes want to bleed.
It's not too bad if it's quoted though.

| Anything yellow that isn't a decent, not-so-bright shade of it.
Neon colors in general for fonts hurt on any background, really. DX

Augh. Those two are lovely colors but are such a pain to read on here.

| I really hate it when people use small font sizes or painfully bright colors. I am alright with most dark colors so long as it gives enough contrast with the back ground.
That being said, people really just like to be different and be recognized. That's pretty much all there is to it. I am lazy, therefore I don't change my color. I just leave it plain unless there is something I am specifically trying to do.

| Pretty much anything that's so pale you need to highlight it is really annoying.
I don't see where the deep purple in the first post is annoying or hard to read at all though, but some of the pastels people posted are bothersome.
It's funny because on some boards I've had a tendency to post in green font, but I never got to actually colouring my posts here. Maybe I'm sick of green and want a different colour (and I actually quite like the sort of navy blue colour it defaults to here.
Or I could use a different deep blue like this.

| This thread was made when we had a different layout, including background color for the posts. xD
