| the character you can create, with tribe, element, stats etc is for use in the battle system see that link in the top right that says "head to battle arena"? ^^ its a pretty basic system, but basically you want to re-roll your stats when you create your character as high as possibly (except for the charm stat, which isnt in use)

| there is a guide for the battle system around here somewhere i think, but i cant remember where... might be worth asking one of the mods if youre interested
