I know we've all dealt with this. You're having a phone conversation and you're put on hold. At first you think it's going to be a minute or two so you don't mind, but a full ten minutes later you contemplate hanging up.

Raz and I are trying to talk, but his dad steals him for ten minutes. Just as I was about to hang up Raz comes back and we continue our conversation, but then he gets a call. He's been on the other line for five minutes. XD I wanna hang up because it's a pain to hold the phone to my ear forever (not to mention it looks stupid) but I don't want to be an ass.

I have had that happen to me before. XD A friend calls me up to talk, and after a good ten or fifteen minutes of talking, she gets a call. She puts me on hold for about ten minutes. It feels like forever! After seventeen minutes, the connection died. Lol. She called me back after half an hour and asks why I hung up, and I answered that the line killed itself somehow. >_<

Haha, I don't make excuses. "You took too long and I got bored." That's the nicest response I'd have. xP

I would say the same thing sometimes. =D Usually, it depends on how long the person is making me hold the phone. After half an hour or forty-five minutes, my arm aches and I cannot move it without feeling pain. Lol. I have never put someone on hold for more than five minutes - I feel like I am wasting their time by making them wait. ^_^;;

I only call or get called usually now if I'm trying to meet someone or they want me to come out, and either of us hasnt replied to a text, or its urgent. XD

The only people I call for a proper conversation, if and when I have one of them, is my boyfriends. And those times were only verrrrrrrrryy occasional, and I'm single. <<; Which sucks. Even so.

Plus.. I think putting someone on hold for another call, unless its important, like work or college, is just rude!

The "engaged tone" was invented for a reason! I dont think phones with Call Waiting features are very good.

I've never liked talking on the phone much, but I still prefer it over texting. >_> It's too impersonal for me. When Raz and I used to text we fought over the dumbest things because we couldn't read each other's tones properly.

I prefer calling over texting. My friend, on the other hand, loves texting just about every five minutes about the most random things; I blocked her number. We haven't rally been friends lately because we haven't seen each other for a few months. The only person I do the most texting with is my mom... we talk enough when she's at home. Lol.

I've only had that happen once, and I was pissed, especially since they called me to ask a question, i waited 5 minutes before hanging up. They called me back 10 minutes later to say they forgot I was on the other line. Talking about an ego-bashing xD

Eh, I hang up on people that leave me for more than a couple of minutes. XD They'll call back. Holding the phone is both super annoying and hurts my neck, so to hell with it.

What I REALLY hate is when you're obliged to stay on the line, like calling customer service or doctor's office or something. I used to work in a doctor's office, and there were people who'd put their phones on speaker and just walk off XD; I can't blame them. But I did hang up on them ;D

Meh. I don't understand answering and talking on another line. Is it so difficult to say "I'll call you back" and finish the first conversation first? That's what I would do.

Oh, my friend does that all the time Kattie, whether I'm the first caller or the second, she'll talk to whoever called her first unless the other line's important, like her mom or dad :]

That would be really annoying. x_x I can't sympathize because I never talk on the phone besides calling my mom or grandma every now and then, but those conversations never last more than ten minutes. Bleh.

I hate calling places like the internet or phone company and being put on hold for a good 45 minutes, THAT sucks pretty badly. x_x

hmm 'rememberes a time when she actually TALKED to people' about the only time im on the phone is when talking to my family.. but before then i used to have a friend and we'd just sit there and talk for hours. i used to lay in my bed because after a while my arm just ACHED.
I remember once i kept getting a call coming in so i'd put her on hold switch over and go 'sorry on the phone call back later' no matter who it was. and switch back over. even though technically i coulda told her i had another call and 'ill call you back later' ..lol

Thankfully, I've never had this type of problem before(holding on the line for someone). I don't really talk to people with my phone that much, so that's why. =P
I don't text either... I only talk to my parents if I need them to pick me up or something. XD
