I returned to Jadarea after a loooong hiatus. Man, that place seems EVEN slower than this. Looks like everyone lost interest or something.

Must every avatar site out there have a Valentines/Easter/Christmas/Halloween event?
It's getting old.

Weeeeelllll...I hear Solia isn't gonna have a V-day event this year. Instead, there's gonna be something else. But nobody is sure what exactly. And there wasn't a Halloween event, either.

I don't think Solia had a Valentines event last year either... did they? I hardly ever go on there though, and when I do I have no idea what's going on so I could have easily missed it lol...

But yeah. A pie event would be awesome! 8D And so would a Deity-themed event.

Quite honestly, I don't recall a Valentine's Day event on Solia. Maybe there was one, maybe there wasn't. I don't remember. Maybe I was on Solia hiatus then. I've gotta say, as much as I like the place itself, I don't care much for the events on there. They're rater...bad. Their current event is rather boring. I mean, I find it boring, because I find no use in the event items. Not because they're ugly or something - they're not. But I'm just not the one to cosplay, and one of the items is Princess Mononoke's mask.

Hmm...Pie day sounds good! :3 And How 'bout doing a Something on a Stick Day? XD It's on March 28.

I'm on Solia, Roliana, Ernya, Crysandria, and I think thats it. I WAS on Gaia, but I got bored with it so I just don't get on it anymore.

So I have been on Solia and Zantarni and haven't been to both in forever. I'm gonna try to see whats up with them, though I dunno if I should stay and keep my accounts or give the items, etc away?
If I do decide to give stuff away from either place, I'll let you know. (For people who have an account at either place, so they could get something)

Shit storm on Gaia. @_@

Here's what basically happened: Gaia released CS Valentines items, GS items, and puts a cupid in the header of the site, which will open up a fill-in-the-blank Valentine that you can send to people. Everyone gets psyched but as Valentines Day rolls around, they realize... There's no event. They have the Valentine, cupid, CS update, and GS update, but no event forum or items.

Bricks are shat.

My opinion: Generally Valentines Day was never a big holiday for that site but Gaia has been providing events and event items for years. They could have made just two items or something and recycled a kiss/hug forum game. It wouldn't have been terribly hard.

The white knights are so caught up in defending the site that at this point, I feel they're trying to convince themselves of Gaia's success rather than other members.

Gaia has failed as corporation to keep their community happy and unified; and not over this singular event. Taking a look at many threads will show you how divided the userbase is, and they're so busy arguing that they cannot enjoy what the site has to offer. Extremists on either side of this battle need to pack up and leave and find a site that isn't a chore to them. There's no sense participating in a community in which you argue 75% of the time.

An afterthought: I saw a few users saying that artists put of EIs in order to work on the Valentines event. If that's the case, I think it's fairly obvious where Gaia's efforts lie: In the money. The EIs that have been delayed for lord knows how long have already been purchased and even taken out of the CS for further purchase, so rather than wasting time on anything that can no longer give them profit, Gaia works on other profit-driven items and lets the free things fall behind. This type of mentality really makes me lose respect for a site, but I haven't seen such a quote so I can only assume.

What I can assume, however, is that Gaia is getting far too tedious for many users at this point. It's only a matter of time before Gaia begins to lose a great amount of support from them.

I remember a user bringing up an interesting point in one of the threads: The users that donate to the site have a complete false sense of superiority because they're supporting Gaia while free to play users are not. This, however, isn't true. With every page viewed Gaia gets more attention from their advertisers. Therefore, every user supports a site and their opinion should remain just as valid as one who donates. I wonder if Gaia still thinks this way?
