LadyHarpy and Maeve

[Maeve]

"Uh?" Mel lifted her head and ears, sniffing the air like a feline would do. True, there was a light draft of air. "Seems like it's coming from somewhere in front of us," the girl said, starting to walk in the direction of the breeze.

After about five minutes of walk, the draft started to get stronger and stronger, and a little light could be seen in the distance. Mel started to walk faster and, five minutes later, she arrived in front of a large wall blocking the end of the tunnel. A large crack, but not big enough for someone to pass through it, was the source of the wind and light.

The catgirl approached the opening and looked through it. "There's a small river on the other side, and a beach or something like that... And more woods around." She then walked back a little, wondering how they could escape.

Sam started to shuffle through her side pouch and pulled out some chalk.

"I have an idea."

[Maeve]

Mel made a couple steps away from the wall, leaving enough space for Sam to do whatever she want. "Uh, a good idea?" she asked, a bit doubtful. Last time a magician had told her he had a good idea, it did ended very well... Nevertheless, she stood there and watched what Sam was doing, curious to see what the other girl could come up with.

"Well. it's the best I have." Sam said as she went about her work.

She started to draw symbols of all sorts on the area around the opening before connecting them all with amazingly stright lines. She then put the chalk away and pulled out a bottle of some sort of liquid, She stepped back from her work and looked to Mel.

"You might want to back up and cover you ears."

[Maeve]

Mel looked at what Sam was doing with great interest. She had bad memories of magical accidents, but it was also something that fascinated her. When Sam told her to back up and cover her ears, she did without asking questions, and waited to see what what going to happen.

Sam then threw the bottle at the symbol and quickly jumped back and covered her own ears. A horrid sound similar to running fingernails down a chalkboard ripped through the air as the liquid quickly bubbled a bright purple pink before fizzing away to reveil a nice size hole in the wall. Sam removed her hands fom her ears and quickly walked over to the hole.

"I really hate the sound the spell makes but it comes handy at times like these."

[Maeve]

"Yeah," Mel said, lifting her hands from her ears. She followed Sam to the hole. "Oh, before we go, here's your crystal thing," she said, reaching into her pocket and picking the lighting stone Sam had given her before. She had placed it their when the magician girl had told her to cover her ears, but figured they wouldn't need it now. It was still daytime outside and, by the time night fall, the torch would be dried and ready to work.

"Thanks" Sam said as she took back the stone.

She quickly put it away, grabbed her staff and crawled through the hole in the wall.

Mel followed Sam through the hole. Once outside, she blinked a couple times, her eyes accustomed to the poor light of the tunnels needing to adjust to the new amount of light. Once that was over, she looked around, trying to find the best way to return to town. Since she had no idea of where they were now, the map was pretty useless.

"Maybe we should follow the river," she said out loud. After all, a lot of small villages were built close to water source, so they would likely find one by following the river. Though it could also be a long walk before they find anything. The catgirl sighed and looked at the water.

Sam walked over to the river and nodded her head.

"It's the best shot we have, I just wish we knew what happened to Me."

[Maeve]

"Mm, oh yeah," Mel said, getting back to reality. "Yeah, I wonder where Me can be... and where we are too." She shook her head, chasing her worries. "Anyway, let's follow the river then," she said as she started to walk on the shore.
