i saw a banner for this site over at MangaBullet so i thought i'd check it out!

incidentally, I spent yesterday at Stonehenge for the sunrise of the winter solstice ^^ im going to check out this event in a minute

I havent yet found anything that says if we're allowed to post pictures or not... if we are allowed, I have some picture from the solstice i could share if anyone is interested ^^

any tips for the newbie? <3

That must be nice! I spent the solstice helping my mom to find a good gift for my grand-mother, and trying to avoid all the crazy people at the mall. <.<

You are allowed to post pictures. I think there's something in the rules about the size of it, and what is allowed (PG-13, etc.).

Uh, tips eh?
- Be nice and follow the rules.
- Check the event.
- Posting and battling gets you silver (and shards for the duration of the event). I suggest starting by posting though, as you will need some money to buy yourself a nice weapon and to be able to heal yourself.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions.

thats another thing i was wondering - what are the crystal shards for? ive probably read it somewhere already.. i just forget things very fast u_u;; sorry eheh.

im just wondering what i should buy first - i guess a weapon is a good place to start, so i can start battling, right?

Yup, shards are used in the special event shop to buy solstice items.

A volleyball would be a good choice as first weapon. It has a lame attack, really, but it has a lot of duration, so you will be able to fight a lot with it before it breaks. Plus, it's only 5 silver, so it shouldn't take you long to get enough money to buy one ^^

Then, it's your choice. I personally stick with the volleyballs, and some event weapons I have gathered, and keep most of my silver for random clothes and items I like.

ooh so you can only use them to buy the solstice gift boxes then? (are they gonna add more items to that shop? )

i tried using a butter knife, but thats gonna break in a few turns so i will try out the volleyball next xD

Cat (the admin) usually ends up adding all, or most at least, of the event items in the shop at some point. Usually, it's more at the end of the event though, so that everyone can try to get one of each thing.

Indeed, most of the cheaper weapon have low attack and low durability, so the volleyball was a nice addition. Once you get more silver, and if you want to keep battling, maybe you could get a tenro (katana, 2000 silver, 9 attack, 75 duration), or just a good event weapon with 8 attack or so (there's a couple out there).

It would be nice. I mean, running around in rags might be ok in summer, but you will probably catch a cold if you go play in the snow dressed like that.

yea, the volleyball seems to work really well. it says on the item its power is 1, but its doing 4 every turn on these scarecrows so thats not too shabby! xD

Yup, that's probably what I'm going to do too. Plus, it looks like you can get giftbox just by browsing, so I'll see how many I can find that way before thinking about buying some.

That's because you have a good strength. 17 probably gives you +3 in physical attack. And I think the volleyball has no element, so it will be equally strong, or weak, depending on how you want to see it, against every monster.

Could I suggest a pair of winter boots, or maybe some witch boots? 'cause the rest are just sandals, which won't really help you more than the newbie ones...

yea, i found one already through browsing, so here's hoping we both find some more ^^

in the event section actually, it says you need 10 boxes and take them to Duro to get a prize... do you know if that lasts through the whole event or just today? o.o

ohh i see i didnt know your own stats effected it like that. i think i get the alignment/element thing tho ^^

ohh i havent seen the witch boots... which shop are they in? i saw the winter boots tho i will probably buy some of those soon! xD

This will probably last for all the event, unless maybe it is changed at the end. Though, the most likely thing would be that it is taken out at the end of the event, and you can then directly buy the winter segithoz from the shop for a couple days, or something like that. But anyway, you still have plenty of time to get it. ^^

Yup, strength affects your attack, and intelligence your magical attack. The other things affect defense (physical and magical), and your chances of hitting your target and fleeing. And charm is useless...

But a good part of the FAQ doesn't work with Midorea, as it is the standard FAQ from ADR and hasn't been change to fit this site. <_<

That's true; I was planning on addressing that when the battle system is worked on in the future. But it's correct regarding the characteristics. I still refer to it for them.

Yup, you're right. And I guess the rest isn't much of a problem for now, since a lot of the special features were disabled.

Too bad we can't use the other skills though. I would have love to spend some time mining and crafting things. ^^
