Dr. Reeves was going over some notes when Dr. Black entered. He raised both eyebrows when she entered and put on his most charming smile as he stood to greet her. "Well, hello Dr. Black. What can I do for you today?" The man asked in a pleasant tone. He hadn't been expecting Dr. Black, but he wasn't unhappy to see her. She was, after all, probably the most attractive doctor on the compound. He did know, however, about her apparent love for the mutants and it made him mildly uneasy that she was here now. She didn't visit his office often, if ever, though they occasionally ran into each other at the physical endurance courses.

Lynx had grown quiet at least. What more could she do? She had been in a similiar position before, where she was just waiting on her fate. Soon Dr. Reeves would come in, she'd be strapped down, and god knows what he'd do to her. You'd think the surgeon would have found out all he needed to know. At least Dr. Jones had a good excuse: Lynx's mind was still unstable.

Lynx paused at that thought, her ears giving a flick. Her mind actually felt clear right now. Wracked with guilt and self-hatred, but no one spoke to her, no one was screaming at her. They must have given me something while I was out, she thought to herself with a frown. I wonder what... As much as she hated him, she often wished Dr. Jones would find a cure. Surely that would end her torture settings with him and she'd be allowed to go elsewhere. But after seeing that other hybrid in that preservative jar, she wasn't sure what fate lay in store for her.

Long ears twitching, Lynx thought she heard voices outside the door, but she couldn't make them out. And it'd be useless to try.

Dr. Black looked at the man in front of her. She didn't really like Reeves, and being alone in an office with him felt kind of strange to her. Uncomfortable, at least. She chased those thoughts out of her minds, answering his question. "The direction wants to meet us all tomorrow morning," she said simply. "Something about the escaped mutants," she added. "Can you tell Dr. Jones about it? You will surely see him before me." She then wished him a nice day and exited the room quickly. After all, she had other things to do.

Walking down the hall, she noticed one of the empty offices now had a little sheet of metal on it, saying "Dr. Uiki". She vaguely remembered the name. Something about bird mutants or another animal mutation. She knocked to the door a couple time, but getting no answer, she figured the doctor had left for some time. I'll check again when I come back from my meeting with Lei, she thought, pursuing her road.

She checked around, wondering how many people where working on those case. Reeves and Jones, as usual. Uiki and... she shivered as she approached the door of the next office. Dr. Stone... It was probably the doctor that she hated the most. Something in her way to act, especially with the young mutants, just seemed so wrong to her. She took a deep breath and knocked at the door.

Melody remained placid throughout the rest of the exam. She was poked, probed, dragged around from machine to machine. Some she recognised and knew what was being tested, but there were a lot of things she didn't recognise too, and this worried her. Maybe her mind was still too groggy to really register what they were though. She didn't know. All she did know was that she felt absolutely awful. Emotionally and physically. Her whole body began to ache dully and she wondered if they'd just thrown her into her cell before. She certainly felt like it.

Dr. Stone was extremely cold, and not just her hands. She acted like Melody was just a slab of meat that had to be prepared. She didn't talk to her, didn't even make eye contact. She just prodded and probed and wrote the results of her tests down. After all while Melody just let her mind fade away. She was too tired and emotionally drained to do anything, so she just left it blank, not even wanting to think. What was she supposed to do? There was nothing. She'd probably live in the laboratory for the rest of her life, drugged up to the gills, having experiments run on her almost twenty-four hours a day. She couldn't even feel angry anymore. She'd lost all the will within her.

A knock on the door caught her attention. "Come in," Dr. Stone called. The door opened and Dr. Black came in. Melody perked up a little, looking over with wide eyes, red from crying, her cheeks still stained with tears. "Doctor Black, what is it?" the older woman turned to glance over at her before returning to writing on the chart she held in her hands. "And please make it quick, I'm rather busy as you can see."

Dr. Black had been so nice to her the day before. It was like she actually cared. Melody had felt that she genuinely had. If so, she was surely the only person in this place with those feelings. Maybe the Principal, but that was it. She wanted so desperately to call out to her, ask her for help, but how?

She concentrated, willing her thoughts to reach the woman. She didn't think it would work, but surely it was worth a try. "Help me... Please...help me," she pleaded, trying her hardest to project her thoughts into the doctor's head. She was a shapeshifter not only of body, but of mind, and had been trained from an early age to use many abilities, usually copying the powers of the other mutants. Telepathy hadn't been too hard to manage, especially sending her own thoughts into the mind of another. And it seemed that maybe her powers were finally starting to return to her, as after Dr. Black informed Dr. Stone of a meeting with the Principal, she looked over to Melody, a little shocked. That couldn't have been coincidence, surely?

Again Melody sent her thoughts to the other woman. "Please. Doctor Black, help me. Please." She didn't know if she'd be able to do anything to help her at all, but if she really did care about the mutants, then she'd do something. She'd find some way to help, wouldn't she?

((What exactly do you think Dr. Black can do? Punch Dr. Stone in the face, grab you and run away? lol that would be nice... ^^ ))

Black looked at Melody laying on the exam chair, but quickly turned her attention back on Dr. Stone. It wasn't good for her, being so close to mutants... And it could easily get her in trouble. "The Principal wants to meet us all tomorrow morning, about the escaped children," she said, trying to master her emotions.

Maybe it was the look on Melody's face, the small desperate glow in her eyes, or maybe her telepathic powers were real and active again, but Dr. Black suddenly felt an urge to help the young girl. But what could she do? Surely Dr. Stone wouldn't listen if she just asked for her to stop. And she couldn't possibly attack her or anything...

As the pressure inside her was getting bigger, urging her to do something, Black turned her back and quickly exited the room, banging the door behind her. She rushed down the hall and stairs, needing to get as far away as possible to regain her composure. That's not good, she thought, slowing down as she approached the mutant detention corner.

She stopped close to Lei's cell, taking a deep breath and calming herself. She was still troubled though, having seen what was happening to Melody, and getting the feeling Reeves and Jones were also using the escape as an excuse to do some "less acceptable" examinations on Lynx, and maybe on the others too. Was she really the only one around here who cared about the mutants and didn't consider them as simple lab rats?

She sighed, pressing the handle on the door, opening it and entering Lei's room. The young girl was sleeping on the bed, apparently exhausted from all the emotions. At least they haven't touched her, Anne-Marie thought, smiling softly as she approached the bed, kneeling beside it. Few people actually cared about the lifebringers, except for the ones who had great abilities, but Lei was still young and rather weak, therefore the other doctors didn't think much of her.

The young doctor passed her hand gently through the young girl hair, calling her name to wake her up. The little girl was already exhausted and emotionally drained, and the doctor had no reason to be harsh with her. Lei quickly opened her eyes and jumped a little, startled to see someone so close to her. Usually Illya would have awaken her before... Looking around, Lei remembered the bear was no longer with her. She brought her attention back on the woman as she started to speak.

"It's time for your exam," Black said, trying no to scare the young girl more. She got up and reached her hand toward her, waiting for Lei to do the same. She then pushed her gently to the door and out in the hall, letting the young girl follow her as she headed to her office.

Once there, she opened the door and let the young girl enter, closing it behind them and indicating a chair to Lei. It wasn't the usual examination room with the screens and dentist-like chair with leather straps, but a classical office, with a desk and a couple shelves full of heavy books, and two large armchairs placed in a corner. The curtains were closed and a soft light was coming from two lamps placed on each side of the room.

Lei sat in one of the chair and the doctor took the other, taking a chart left on a side table and a pencil. She looked at it for a few seconds, then closed it and replaced it where it was, before looking back at the kid. "So, you want to tell me what happened?" she simply asked.

Dr. Reeves was about to open his mouth to respond, but Dr. Black was already gone. Too bad, he wanted to talk to the pretty woman some more. Shrugging, he imagined what the meeting would be like: perhaps some plan to keep the mutants more content at the school. But Lynx didn't need to be happy. She needed to be kept under control. She was much too dangerous to be running around, playing student. The wild girl needed to be in a zoo, not a school. Or some sort of containment area, like the one he had made for her. The "Angel" had wandered over to peer into the room, where Lynx was sitting on the bed with her head in her hands.

Dr. Jones had finished with Melody and went searching for Dr. Reeves right away. He entered the office without knocking, as was his custom, and Mr. X and Y waited outside with Mr. Z, as was their custon. "Reeves!" Dr. Jones snapped impatiently. "What have you done with her?"

"Done?" Dr. Reeves turned with a mean grin. "I've done nothing, in fact. Just kept her in that room."

"If I find out you've damaged her..."

"Oh, shut it. Here. I'll even make it easy for you to take her to your office for your questioning..." Dr. Reeves smirked and pressed a button on the wall.

Lynx's ears flicked...a strange smell had suddenly appeared in the room. Her red-gold eyes lifted towards the ceiling, towards the little vent. She could smell the gas leaking in and soon felt the effects. Her head began to spin and her vision grew blurry. She last saw the door open and Dr. Jones walk in, with Mr. X nearby.

Dr. Jones watched Lynx pass out and shook his head, motioning towards Mr. X to go in and take her. The big burly man didn't need to be instructed: he had been told to do this so many times before that it was now habit. It was easier this time, with Lynx passed out and slung over his shoulder. Mr. X headed to Dr. Jones' office, and with his buddies Mr. Y and Mr. Z, proceeded to strap Lynx to her usual seat, then moved to wait outside in the hall.

Dr. Jones paused to glance back at Dr. Reeves, who had taken a seat again. "You know..." Dr. Reeves began. "...Dr. Black stopped by. Said there is going to be a meeting. About the ones who escaped. About Lynx..."

"And?!" Dr. Jones snapped.

"And, " Reeves continued calmly, "we need to figure out what to do about it...they might try and stop our work..."

Dr. Jones paused, scowling. "Stop our work? Maybe stop your's. Without me, and Lynx would be clinically insane. I keep her sane. I keep her a "normal" child."

"Child!" Dr. Reeves scoffed. "She's not a kid anymore, Jones. She's an adult, 18 already. Soon she'll be 19. Her birthday is in a few days, you know that. They won't keep her at this school for very much longer. She's going to need a home outside this place...or she'll end up a failure. And we both know what happens to failed mutants..."

Jones stood in the doorway a moment, glaring at Dr. Reeves for a long while, before turning with a grunt and storming towards his office. Lynx was waiting for him, after all.

Lei looked at the doctor for some time. She wasn't sure if she could trust her, but she deeply wanted to. Dr. Black was probably the only normal adults around the school that seemed to care for the mutants, or at least that's what Lei felt. She then started to think about how to tell her story. Was she still supposed to say Lynx had forced her to escape? But that wasn't right...

Lei shivered and tears started to flow down her cheeks. "It's all my fault," she said, thinking about what the others had to endure because of her. After all, she was still a kid, and surely they would go easier on her than on the others. Maybe Eve could also be ok, but for Lynx, Mel, and Tsemara... The young girl sobbed heavily, while Dr. Black handed her a box of tissues.

"What do you mean? Wasn't it Lynx that forced you to do so? Or one of the others?" the woman asked. After all, how could a little girl like Lei, with no real special powers, pushed four older girls to do anything?

Lei took a little time to calm herself, then answered the doctor,s question. "No. I was the one who found the hidden lab thing. And I told the others, and, and..." Words came rushing through her mouth. She was about to start crying again, so the doctor made a little sign of the hand to tell her to slow down.

"And how did you find the lab?" the doctor asked gently.

"Illya ran away the other day, and I tried to catch her, and she ran into the woods and up to the..." the young girl paused suddenly. She had forgot her missing bear for a second, but talking about her had brought back the memory of her missing toy. "Where's Illya?" she asked, a worried look on her face.

"I don't know. Maybe it got lost during your transport back here. Or maybe they took it when they changed you," the woman answered. She knew the stuffed animal was precious to the kid, and didn't want to alarm her more. "I'll see if I can find it," she added, noticing that her first answer had only made the young girl more worried.

The conversation went on for a little while, the doctor asking the normal questions and Lei answering as best as she could. She had been passed out for a while, after all, and her memories of the building were a little confused. After an hour or so, the doctor brought the young girl back to her cell.

"You'll pass the rest of the day and night here," the doctor said. She would have preferred to let Lei go, but she needed some physical tests to be done before, and she wanted to be sure the young girl was alright. "Someone will come later to take a blood sample and some other physical test," she added.

"You won't forget, about Illya," Lei said, a bit worried to be put back alone into the cell.

"I swear I won't," the doctor answered, smiling gently at the girl before she closed the cell's door. She then returned to her office, a bit intrigued by what the young girl had told her. She had always thought, like the other researchers, that the lifebringers were controlling their possessed items, even if it wasn't a conscious act. But then, how could the bear had found a secret lab? Maybe it was just a coincidence...

She took her phone, first calling one of the nurses of the school, sending her to go make Lei's physical exam. She then took a couple minutes to think and finished filling up the usual paperwork. She sighed, something apparently heavy on her mind, and took the phone once more,t his time calling one of the security officers, the one that had caught Lei the first day. She had some questions to ask her.

Sin studied the door the hinges that in human form he could probably pull out he smiled to himself looking around was there anything he could use to help him.... no.
He stood up laying on his belly his ear close to the small gap he heard nothing he stood looking at his nails they hadn't been cut in awhile perfect. He played around with the top hing having to stand on his tiptoes to reach it there was a clink then a clatter as it fell to the ground he scooped it up and listened at the door he heard nothing to he set to work on the next hing sticking the first in his pocket having no where else to put it this one slid out, but he caught it before it clattered to the floor he knelt down setting to work on the final hing this one was the hardest for some reason, but finally it to slipped out he smiled pushed the door open he looked down the hallway both ways seeing no one he padded out of the cell into the hallway turning in a small circle making sure no one had seen him.
He walked down the hallway having no idea how to get out he chose a random direction the floor was cold under his feet he didn't like shoes plus when he transformed he normally messed them up or lost them. He heard a noise behind him he had turned a corner earlier he peaked around the corner and saw a figure standing at his open door he turned racing down the new hallway taking wild turns he found stairs rushed up them he came out in a hallway that only went on direction at least he didn't have to chose he ran down as an alarm went out he jumped looking back the way he had come. Little did he know he was in the hallway that housed the Headmistresses office.

Uiki was told of Sin's escape he shook his head with a sigh children were always annoying.

((Three little things:
1 - Andrea is the first name of G-5 (one of the surveillance NPC).
2 - I'm gonna take it as if it was late afternoon / early evening now.
2 - Please go check the OOC guys, as I need some help deciding something.))

Andrea walked down the hall. She had been in the office for so long, watching the cameras and making sure everything was right this time. And now she had to go meet with one of the doctors. And I thought working here would be funnier than staying at the base with the others. She sighed heavily, turning a corner into the hall where the headmistress office was, almost hitting someone in the way. "Oh, sorry," she said to the young man standing in front of her. Realizing it was student, she added: "Shouldn't you be in class? Or not here, at least?" Her tone wasn't rude or threatening, as she knew some of the newer students often got lost on the campus, and since the doctors office were in the same building, it wasn't strange that one could have came here.

The cell door opened to reveal a nice looking blonde doctor, she smiled at Eve a little. The girl drew back a bit scared, the woman seemed nice enough but that could be an act. "It's alright Eve, you said you needed the bathroom," the woman said to her, she looked down at her clipboard and wrote something down. Eve could now see there was also a man behind her, obviously incase Eve decided to try to run away. She glanced at the woman writing on the board, were they even keeping her toilet habits written down?! That would be a little much surely; all of a sudden the woman reached out and took Eve's hand in the palm of her own. Eve flinched a bit but the woman seemed to have no intention of hurting her, she pulled Eve out slowly and began to walk down the corridor with her. Eve turned to look at the large man following behind, the turned to the doctor and said nervously: "He won't be in the bathroom with me will he?" The female doctor laughed and shook her head. "Of course not Eve," she said simply.

Eve got the feeling that they didn't see her as a threat at all, which was sadly true; maybe they had given her people who would be gentle with her because of her state too, they would know she suffered from depression like this. The woman opened the door at the end of the corridor and gestured for Eve to go in, it was a nice clean bathroom, she shut the door behind the girl. "Knock on the door when you're done Eve."
"Err sure," Eve said, she looked around, wasn't much she could do to help her friends here. She decided it would be best just to do what they wanted her too, maybe if she behaved they would let her see Lei at least.

Sin looked at the lady who had almost run into him.
"I'm new can you direct me towards an exit?" His eyes looked desperate and the way he kept glancing over his shoulder seemed suspicious he bounced from one foot to the other fingers playing with the bottom of his shirt. He was glad the lady didn't know him or he would out of luck. He glanced over his shoulder again he rubbed the band-aid on his arm at least they had given him one after taking his blood...
He flashed her a very false smile one the looked nervous, but also gave away he was in some sort of trouble.

"Uh, sure," Andrea said. "Just take that hall; there's an exit door at the end of it," she added. The behaviour of the student was a bit strange, but then again, she had seen worst before. And a lot of the kids seemed to have emotional and mental problems, so it wasn't really surprising. "You're sure you're ok?" she still asked, just in case something was really wrong.

He nodded. "I'm fine, Uh.. thanks." He raced down the hall continuing to glace over his shoulder he slid to a stop right beside the door as Jiri Uiki showed up with a grim expression on his face he spotted Sin so close to the door and took a tentative step forward like he was scared of frightening Sin.

"Sin come here." His voice was low childish a voice you would use to coax a child into doing something. Sin shook his head twisted the door handle the wrong was swore to himself within the few seconds that his back had been turned Jiri had spirted down the short stretch of hallway. He glanced over his shoulder twisting the know the other way and throwing the door open Sin jumped outside with a scream he vanished in a whirl of features replaced by a hawk it hopped a few paces Jiri tossed a net over the startled hawk.

Andrea looked at the young man running away. Shaking her head, she resumed her pace, quickly reaching Dr. Black's office. She knocked and entered the room, closing the door behind her. Black lifted her head from the papers she was filling and said: "It took you some time."

"I met a lost kid on the way," Andrea answered, taking a seat. Seeing the interrogative look on the other woman's face, she added: "A new student, probably."

"I see," Black answered. She reached her hand and took a file and a pen, before going to sit down with the other. "I need to talk to you, about the escaped kids."

"Yeah, I figured it would be about that."

{{@ Maeve: She's desperate! She doesn't know that couldn't go down! Laugh
Had a great idea to increase Melody's suffering a little bit too, lmao. I actually had a little look into sedatives to see if I could find anything that immediately had what I needed, but damn it's far too complicated. So ignore the lack of knowledge presented by even the doctors in that area, lol. It could even be because of Melody's mutation or to do with the drugs already in her system, especially the smoke grenade stuffs. :/ So that's my excuse. >o>}}

"That's fine," Dr. Stone answered in her usual cold, uncaring tone, not even looking up from her clipboard to Dr. Black, except for when she glared up over the rims of her glasses and asked with irritation in her voice, "Is that all?" Dr. Black nodded and she returned her gaze to her writing. "Good."

Melody continued to stare pleadingly at Dr. Black with a look of desperation in her eyes, praying that she'd do something, anything to help her. Just as she thought she saw something in the other's eyes the doctor turned her back suddenly and headed from the room, closing the door swiftly. Melody hung her head (as best she could in the device it was held up in). Either Dr. Black hadn't noticed or she didn't care.

Soon Dr. Stone stepped back beside her, looking her over once more before calling to one of those working for her to come to her side. "She's a high-risk subject, get a sedative before we have her taken back to her cell."

Melody looked up, wanting to protest but knowing it would do nothing but waste what little energy she had left. As the lackey headed off to get the drugs needed Stone attempted to get the mutant to talk again. "Melody. Will you answer my questions? If you want to go back to school any time soon I suggest you start to cooperate." She leaned down a little to get a better look at the girl.

Melody blinked slowly, her eyes blurry and sore from crying. She slowly lifted her head a little to look up at the woman now standing in front of her. She was weak, tired, broken...but still every fiber of her being told her not only to ignore this woman's requests, but to hate every part of her.

She parted her lips slowly. Her mouth was dry and her lips cracked and painful when they made sudden movements. She ran her tongue over her lips to bring moisture to them, though it didn't do much, then swallowed. She blinked again, trying to clear her vision slightly, but this too seemed rather futile. Looking up to the doctor she took a breath and spoke softly, her voice breaking as she did so. "Fuck...you."

Dr. Stone gave her a rather unamused look and pulled back, writing something down. "Very well, but don't say I didn't warn you, young lady." Melody wished she'd had enough saliva available to spit in the bitch's face, but sadly she didn't even have that to comfort her.

One of the unnamed doctors came out and braced her neck before injecting something into her. "Rrragh! Noo!" she tried to fight it but was far too well restrained to be able to do anything but flex the muscles in her neck and try to squirm away.

As they stood back she suddenly felt a wave of sickness wash over her. She felt awful, and it felt like it was getting worse. Her vision started to become even more blurred and she felt unable to fight it. When she tried it felt like her whole body was becoming numb. She heard the voices of the people around her, but they were distorted and difficult to understand. "Just give it a minute to work and then you can release her," she assumed Dr. Stone was saying.

She felt dizzy all of a sudden, light-headed but even more so than she'd ever experienced before. Then as she thought she was about to pass out, without warning, she just barely felt herself vomiting.

Dr. Stone turned to the girl, shocked. "What the hell did you give her?" Out of nowhere Melody regained the feeling in all her muscles for a brief moment to feel them clench painfully before all sensation was gone again. Her eyes rolled back in her head.

"Shit! She's seizing! Help me hold her down!" She grabbed a hold of the girl's chest and pinned her down, trying to restrict what movement she was still capable of as best she could as the others grabbed her legs and held them in place. "What the hell did you give her!?" she demanded, turning to face the doctor who'd given her the sedative. He stuttered a little as he told her. "Dammit you moron! You can't give her that with her current condition! Jesus Christ, do I have to do everything around here?!"

"I-I didn't know!" he cried, seeming genuinely horrified.
"Obviously!" she snarled at him. "Christ! Check her airways, we might have to intubate her!" she barked and one of the others quickly checked.
"They're opening up again!" the woman informed her Melody's thrashing started to calm down. Finally she became still and the doctors released their holds upon her, only after Stone had already done so though.

She stood back, wiping her brow. After a moment she regained her composure. "All right," she said, the last of the emotion draining from her voice. "We can't have her in her cell like this. Call them to get a medical room prepped for her to stay in so we can watch over her in case of complications. We should have her intubated just in case, the last thing we need is for her to stop breathing in her sleep now."

She started to check the girl over, giving more instructions on the drugs that she'd need to be placed on among other things. After a while Melody was relocated in a new room, still very much a cell, but with the proper medical supplies needed and in a section of the medical unit where she could be more easily accessed in case of trouble.

Stone stood outside her door, looking through the small glass window on it, speaking with some of the staff of that area. "I'll be keeping a personal eye on her. Everything goes through me first, and if anything happens I am to be informed immediately, got that?"
"Of course, Doctor Stone," the man nodded fearfully, wringing his hands, "of course."
"Good. I'll return shortly, I have some work to take care of. Keep a close eye on her."
"Yes Ma'am, of course."

Lynx awoke in a spot that was all-too familiar to her: the chair in Dr. Jones' office. "The Chair" being one of that fancy chairs seen in shrink's offices, this one with restraints, which kept her from attacking and tearing Dr. Jones apart. As her swimming vision cleared, Dr. Jones himself came into view. He was sitting in his usual chair, a few feet from her's at her head, the typical patient-doctor situation. He looked smug and aloof, as usual. Everything looked normal, every detail of his office which was painfully familiar to Lynx. She knew every tiny detail by heart, every pen on his desk, every crack in the ceiling, every book on his shelf. How many hours had she spent in this office, being asked questions? Being told what she was, what her place was in this world? How many times had she been injected with strange new medications, in vain hopes that this time they would calm her raging mind?

Dr. Jones cleared his throat and Lynx's mind snapped back to the present. "So, I heard you went on a little outing," the doctor began, smirking lightly. "Did you lead the expedition?"

Lynx scowled at Dr. Jones, before she leaned back and stared at the ceiling. "Yes," was her simple reply.

Dr. Jones was startled, though his expression quickly returned to being neutral. He rarely, if ever, got a straight answer from Lynx and her willingness to cooperate made his instantly suspicious. Had Lynx not been the one in charge after all? If not her, then who? "What did you see?" He finally managed to continue.

Lynx blew air from his nose angrily. "Dead mutants," was Lynx's swift reply. "Dead mutants, in jars to preserve them." Her voice sounded dead, even to her ears.

Dr. Jones' eyebrows furrowed. Lynx wasn't fighting. She wasn't screaming and cursing and wishing his death in a thousand different ways. Had Reeves finally broken her? Or had what she had seen affected her so deeply? The doctor looked at the girl sitting before him, so carefully staring at the painting on his wall now. No...Reeves was right. Not a girl. She was almost a woman now. "You're birthday is in a few days, Lynx..." Dr. Jones said unexpectantly, surprising even himself.

Lynx's ear gave a mild flick in response. "I'll be 19," she muttered. "A little old to be in school."

Dr. Jones frowned as he leaned back, studying the girl. She had been at this school since she was 16...3 years, and what had he managed to accomplish? Hardly anything. Though she seemed rather sane right now. Depressed, but sane. "Is there anything you'd like for your birthday?" He asked gently.

Lynx actually moved, turning her red-gold eyes to meet Dr. Jones' gaze as she spoke. "I'd like my friends to be released and for their lives to go on like normal," she replied before turning away.

Dr. Jones said nothing.
