The Age of Rain

A moment of intence smell and sound informed her of the new observers, on smelling like earth and dirt and the other smelling like berries and leaves. Her hearing drifted and intensified again just in time to hear her ask the question at a volume of an airplane engine. Eris winsed and covered her ears.

"Please...Don't talk so loud!" She moaned.

[laniparis]

"Oh, ah, sorry," Lanyia tried to whisper as quietly as possible.

She looked around the clearing warily, hoping no one would jump out from the shadows as her nerves were shot and she would surely scream.

"Are you okay...???" She whispered this time.

((Meanwhile))

In another, nearby part of the affected world, in what remained of a broken down building, sat a female, only she could not be called human.

She resembled a spider, with human size and hair, and her name was Eclectica, self appointed Queen of the New Earth.

Eclectica had proved herself ruthless since she had transformed in the first rain. In her painful transformation she had even managed to kill her partner, who was her world, her king, her kindness.

Now, she sat in a broken down building with her transformed hench men, but most importantly, with her also transformed side kick Shainae.

Shainae looked more like a spider than she did, and was even smaller than her, yet larger than any spider known in the old world. Her fangs were the only one's that could challenge Shainae's.

Eclectica and Shainae, had been old world friends before the rain, and here in the new world, they were still together. They would do anything for each other.

"We shall find the one who screamed," Eclectica informed her group. "And we shall recruit them to our army, and continue on to control the New Earth."

The others all nodded, most out of fear, Shainae was the only one who really nodded in agreement.

"You are a great Queen," Shainae announced. "And, you shall only become better, and stronger."

Shainae gave the crowd a small nod.

"Long live the Eclectica," the small group cheered. "Queen of the New Earth."

Eclectica smirked slightly. "It does have a good ring to it."

[laniparis]

Before her new acquaintance had a chance to reply, Lanyia heard what might have been a cheering group in the nearby distance.

"What on Earth...???" she exclaimed a little loudly. She appologised as her new acquaintance wimpered. "I thought I heard a crowd cheering. I-I might be wrong, but..."

Lanyia took a step in the direction she heard the sound from and was suddenly over come by bad vibes.

"We all have to go..." she announced. "Now. There's people, Bad people, and it won't take them long to find us here. Dania, we might have to all hide out in your house again. Sorry."

((Narration))

Dania quickly swooped, she grabbed the two girls as gently as she could, gripping them with her claws, she flew them all back up to her sheltered paradise of a home in the branches.

[LadyHarpy]

Eris would have lashed out at the bird girl had it not been for the fact that she was busy trying not to get a headach. When they landed she curled up again and continued to squerm.

Dania gazed sadly at the transforming girl. She shuddered at the memory of the pain of her own. She glanced out, and saw a haze in the distance, signalling people quite far away.
'I hope your transformation ends soon,' she whispered, 'otherwise you won't make it when they come.'

Eris squermed and looked to the bird girl, with all the darkness about her black eyes could see great detail and color. Her hearing and smelling senses started to slow down and settle but a drastic change or to still happened.

Dania returned her look. 'Are you feeling any better?' she asked.

[LadyHarpy]

"A little." Eris said as she flinch at another hearing spike.

Lanyia studied her new acquaintance, who still sat squirming on the floor. Then she returned her gaze to Dania.

"What helped when you transformed...???" she tried to ask quietly.

Dania turned to Lanyia. 'No one helped me,' she whispered, 'When I transformed, my parents abandoned me, my friends turned away, and I was left alone.' She was trembling slightly.

[LadyHarpy]

Eris twitched a bit and moaned as another wave of pain came.

[laniparis]

"Oh dear, that's horrible," Lanyia replied.

She stared at the poor quivering heap of a girl struggling with the fact that she didn't have any idea what to do.

"Oh, what is your name...???" she tried to whisper.

[LadyHarpy]

"Eris." She replied as she twitched again.

[laniparis]

"Okay, Eris, If you can could you tell us what we could do to help you out," Lanyia asked quietly and politely. "Would you like a blanket or a pillow...??? I'm sure Dania would have one and wouldn't mind if it would help."

She sighed. Having not transformed herself Lanyia was treading on egg shells for ideas. She didn't want to hurt her new friend but feared leaving her to struggle on her own would tear at her own conscience.
