Lower Level Monster: Harpy

Name: Harpy.
Level: Silver.
Habitat: Mountain/Forest.
Element: Flying.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Under Average, occasionally Average.
Danger level: Orange to Red.
Description: Harpies have a humanoid torso but the wings and legs of a bird. They tend to live in high nests on mountains, but can also be found on the outskirts of a forest close to a mountain/mountains. Occasionally they are seen in large forests, also.
Most commonly the male will build a nest and use this, along with presenting a fresh kill to a female, to entice a mate, as proof of their skill, however females do sometimes build nests of their own, especially if they have fledged from their own nest a long time ago and are in need of a home.
Harpies are solitary creatures, keeping to themselves or with their mate, and the females are much more deadly than the males. Whereas males will only breed within the species, females will often capture males of other species and bring them back to their nests to breed with, and in some cases, feed to her children or eat herself.
Harpies are unable to speak any "human" language due to not having the vocal chords, and instead make the noises of birds, though there have been cases of them being trained to speak short phrases, though this may simply be an imitation of the noises rather than actual ability to speak. They range in size, the smallest being four foot tall and the largest no bigger than six foot.

Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Average/Above average.
Danger level: Green, possibly Yellow.
Description: Hawks make great battling monsters and pets, and like many animals are known to develop magical abilities. However the Hawk makes a better fighter than most due to being very powerful and skilled even without using any magic. They will also only attack if provoked or if they feel threatened. They make very loyal companions.

Lower Level Monster: Lizard Man

Name: Lizard Man.
Level: Silver.
Habitat: Mire/Cave/Forest/Jungle.
Element: Earth and Fire.
Frequency: Not common.
Intelligence: Under average.
Danger level: Yellow to Orange.
Description: Lizard Men are human-sized, humanoid lizard creatures, most often wearing armour and carrying weapons, most commonly swords but also spears and bows and arrows. They usually stay together in tribes that vary in size and though they cannot speak any known language they communicate through animal-like noises with one another, though they rarely need to speak and remain very much like animals in this way. They are said to have evolved from normal lizards over time and their colours and general appearance change depending on their location, being similar to that of their smaller lizard brethren.

Lower Level Monster: Minotaur

Name: Minotaur.
Level: Gold.
Habitat: Forest/Mountain/Cave/Mine.
Element: Rock/Metal.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger level: Red.
Description: Minotaurs seem to be - at least to humans - the angry and ferocious fusion of man and bull. Most often Minotaurs will live alone, enjoying their solitude and seldom being seen with one another; they normally only come into contact with each another for mating, which - like many animals - is simply a brief meeting between the two before parting. Minotaurs lack the compassion of other creatures and are irritable, making them extremely dangerous to humans and anyone else foolish enough to bother them. They however are not stupid creatures, as many think, though their intellect doesn't compare to humans they are not without intellectual thought. Often they will carry large metal hammers or axes, easily carried by their inhuman strength- this is how some have mastered the element metal. Minotaurs use little magical skill and instead prefer to use their weapons or fists, which they can easily crush a human with.

Lower Level Monster: Mimic

Name: Mimic.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Cave/Forest/Jungle.
Element: Darkness.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Under average.
Danger level: Green to Yellow.
Description: Mimics appear to be simple treasure chests or jars that a normal explorer would probably attempt to open, however they hide a dark monster inside that upon opening or even getting too close will strike out. Most Mimics will appear as simply a moving chest or jar, opening and closing to reveal nothing but sinister shadows inside and using a variety of different magic, they sometimes also have a dark mist or tendril-likes appendages pouring or poking out. In extremely rare cases though when jumping open to reveal the monstrous contents instead of a shadow or dark mist a human or humanoid creature appears, wearing the chest or jar as some sort of armour. Sometimes simply a humanoid shadow, other times a small human, ranging in appearance from miniature adult to simply a child. However, despite these forms, Mimics can never speak.

Lower Level Monster: Ogre

Name: Ogre.
Level: Gold.
Habitat: Cave/Mountain.
Element: Earth/Rock.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Low.
Danger level: Orange to Red.
Description: Ogres are giant, brutal humanoids that feed on anything smaller than them. They are very volatile creatures who fight even amongst themselves and so spend a lot of their lives alone, preying on who or whatever is stupid or unlucky enough to wander into their territory. They are often dressed in simple clothing, usually a loincloth of some form made from the skin of their prey and wield large bludgeoning weapons such as bats. They are extremely strong but also well known for being of low intelligence, and if you are fast enough to avoid their attacks you can often outwit them to either defeat them or simply escape. They use only physical attacks.

Lower Level Monster: Sea Serpent

Name: Sea Serpent.
Level: Silver/Gold.
Habitat: Sea/Lake.
Element: Water.
Frequency: Rare.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger level: Orange/Red.
Description: Known as the Dragons of the Sea, Sea Serpents are large, limbless aquatic reptiles. They are much larger than their land counterparts, growing to enormous sizes and living for great lengths of time, usually hidden in the darkest depths of large bodies of water. They are very rarely tamed, and those that are are obviously of the smaller sizes. The main reason for them not being used as companions in battle is simply because they cannot survive out of water and prefer to stay quite deep anyway, meaning they are hard to find. They are most often seen by those out in the sea, and can be very dangerous to sailors, though it is unknown if they attack out of simple animalistic reasons such as defending territory or feeding, or whether they are violent creatures.

Lower Level Monster: Serpent

Name: Serpent.
Level: Bronze/Silver.
Habitat: Forest/Field/Cave/Jungle/Mire/Mountain.
Element: Darkness, Earth, Fire, Ice, Thunder/Lightning, Earth Poison, Darkness Poison, Rock, Plant.
Frequency: Not common.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger level: Yellow/Orange.
Description: Serpents are essentially giant snakes. They are primarily aligned with Darkness and seen as evil creatures. They will strike out at unsuspecting victims and feed on almost any living creatures. Some believe that they are just giant snakes, only seen as evil due to their size making them seem more dangerous and the rest of their behaviour being normal for a snake, however many believe that they are sinister and evil monsters who are more intelligent than people think, and they enjoy inflicting pain on others. The fact they they are able to use a variety of different magics adds to this belief, though no one knows for sure the truth of this matter, and many people see them a great companions. They are essentially the pet snake of the stronger people, most often fighters.
They will be very loyal to their master, though care must be taken due to their nature. At largest they can grown to be as wide as a fully grown adult human, length obviously being much more.

Lower Level Monster: Slime

Name: Slime.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Field/Forest/Mountain/Beach/Jungle/Cave.
Element: Fire, Water, Ice, Air, Thunder/Lightning, Earth, Poison (depends on sub-species, refer to description for more info).
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Low, sometimes Extremely Low.
Danger level: Green, or Yellow for higher level Slimes. (Orange and Red for Poison Slimes.)
Description: Slimes are, as the name may imply, balls or slime, slightly pointed on top of their heads and often with a small bobble or other little item at the top of their point, usually having something to do with their Element (for example an Earth Slime may have a little leaf shaped glob at the end of their point, and a Water Slime a little droplet of water). They have two big eyes and a mouth on their front and are most often seen smiling and making small noises of glee, however when approached by a stranger or something they see as a danger their expression changes to either fear or anger and they attack.
Slimes come in a variety of types based on their Element, and follow in colour. Red Slimes are Fire based, Blue Slimes are Water based, Light Blue Slimes are Ice based, White Slimes are Air based, Yellow Slimes are Thunder/Lightning based, Green Slimes are Earth based and Purple are Poison based.
They are magic users who cast spells of whatever their Elemental affinity is and come in a variety of sizes, growing larger in later life. A baby Slime will be around the size of a household cat, and a fully grown Slime can grow as large as a bicycle.
If left alone Slimes will not attack, however if approached they will immediately turn upon you, seeing anything as a danger to themselves. Poison Slimes are the most dangerous as a fully grown adult's Poison can be extremely deadly. Poison Slimes double in danger as they are the only type of their species that will deliberately strike out at creatures it could hide from, a choice other Slimes will most often take.
If you are able to befriend a Slime somehow (this is only possible if you have been around since the Slime's birth and it us used to your presence, or if you capture a Slime that is either unaware of you being a danger (i.e.: when it awakens you are already taking care of it so it doesn't see you as so much of a threat) or that you are patient enough to wait to earn the trust of.
They usually solitary creatures, when they find others of their species they are very sociable and enjoy playing together, the only exception being Poison Slimes that prefer to always be alone, and that other Slimes tend to avoid. It is because of the Poison Slimes' behaviour that people believe it is of the Darkness Element of Poison, rather than Earth, though this has yet to be proven.

Lower Level Monster: Wild Cat

Name: Wild Cat.
Level: Silver.
Habitat: Field/Forest/Mountain/Jungle/Cave.
Element: Earth, Fire, Ice, Thunder/Lightning, Earth Poison, Rock, Plant.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Under average/Average.
Danger level: Yellow/Orange.
Description: Wild Cats are the large, wild counterparts of the domestic cat. They range in abilities and sub-species depending on location. A Wild Cat in a hot location will often have the affinity of Fire and/or Earth, Wild Cats higher in the mountains and in colder regions have harnessed the power of Ice, and lower mountainous Wild Cats will use Earth and/or Rock magic. Thunder/Lightning and Earth Poison Wild Cats seem to be rather randomly placed, though Earth Poison Cats will often be around areas where there is a lot of plant life. There are even Wild Cats that can be classes as a Plant type monster, as they are able to use plant-like tendrils and fire razor sharp leaves. Plant type Wild Cats very often have Fire, Earth and/or Earth Poison elemental magic as well.
Wild Cats are not necessarily primarily magic users though, as many rely on their great physical strength, claws and fangs, the way large cats in the wild on Earth would do, however this varies between sub-species and Element type.
They come in many types that are all similar to the types on Earth, such as Tigers, Lions, Pumas, Leopards, Cheetahs, Panthers, etc. etc..

Lower Level Monster: Wolf

Name: (Elemental) Wolf, also known sometimes as a Wild Dog.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Forest/Cave/Mountain.
Element: Earth, Fire, Ice, Thunder/Lightning, Earth Poison, Rock, Plant.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Under average/Average.
Danger level: Green/Yellow.
Description: The Wolf, also known as a Wild Dog or Elemental Wolf when specifically speaking of those that use magic, is simply as the name implies. They are wolves who are aligned with a certain Element and use its magic along with physical attacks; the Element is usually based upon their location if there is a particular extreme (such as those living in cold areas using Ice magic and those in regions with a lot of water using Water magic etc.), but in the more common and ordinary areas the Elemental magic varies greatly from Wolf to Wolf.. They are known to live in packs, smaller groups such as mates living with one another, or simply alone. They are in every way the same as normal non-magical wolves, the only difference being that they have magical energy at their disposal.
They make great battling monsters and even pets, being as loyal as any dog, though they will sometimes take longer to trust a creature not of their race than the common domestic dog.

Lower Level Monster: Yeti

Name: Yeti.
Level: Silver.
Habitat: Mountain/Forest/Cave.
Element: Earth/Ice.
Frequency: Not common.
Intelligence: Under average.
Danger level: Green/Yellow.
Description: Yetis appear to be a mixture between a human and a bear. They are what people of Earth might refer to as "bigfoot" among other names. There are two distinct types: Common and Snow. The Common Yeti inhabits primarily forest regions and is brown in colour as well as being of the Earth element and only using physical attacks; the Snow Yeti lives only in colder regions and inhabits primarily mountains, it is white in colour and of the element of Ice, as well as being able to use Ice magic.
Yetis are solitary creatures and live their lives alone, spending their days foraging through the woods/mountains and their nights in caves to rest.

Lower Level Monster: Zombie

Name: Zombie.
Level: Bronze.
Habitat: Land. Anywhere the dead can drop and rise again.
Element: Undead.
Frequency: Common.
Intelligence: Under average to Extremely low depending on the Zombie in question.
Danger level: Yellow when alone. Zombies tend to travel in groups which can range from Orange to Black in danger.
Description: Zombies are corpses of the dead that have risen from the grave, usually through magical means. They are rather brainless most of the time, but depending on how strong the magic that revived them is and how decomposed they were when brought back to "life" they can vary in intelligence, though all still in the lower levels. The longer they have been in the ground/dead the more likely they are to fall apart and unless brought back by powerful magic they are quite weak and easy to kill if you know how.
Each looks unique but one thing they have in common is blank, soulless eyes, and dull, dead looking skin colour, most commonly grey, but ranging through greenish or brownish colours.
For a Zombie to die the brain must be destroyed or disconnected from the rest of the body, meaning the only other way to kill them aside from destroying the brain is to decapitate them.

Lower Level Monster: Jachyra

Name: Jachyra.
Level: Platinum.
Habitat: Unknown, but have been spotted in desert wastes and mountain peaks.
Frequency: Ultra Rare.
Element: Poison.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger Level: Black.
Description: Let’s face it. Jachyras are evil. They delight in the drawn out deaths of innocents, and the murder of the defenseless. Their red, leathery skin, makes them easy to spot at a distance, not that it matters. They are capable of running as fast as a horse and tire much later. Those few that have survived battling with one have stated that Jachyras are either incapable of feeling pain, or draw strength from it.
These red devils are humanoid in shape. Their faces have feline features, slit eyes, short muzzles filled with razor sharp teeth and long tufted ears. They possess no hair except course bristles along their lower belly to their loins. The spikes that line their spine are jagged and make useful weapons, if successfully retrieved. Their fingers are thick enough to support their weight when running on all fours, yet are nimble enough to use rudimentary tools. OR rip your arms out and beat you to death with them. Whatever comes first. And if that wasn’t bad enough, they’re venomous. If someone was unlucky enough to get bitten during an attack the victim will suffer from paralysis. If left untreated, the victim will fall into a feverish coma. By then, the victim has anywhere from an hour to a day before they die. It depends on the physical fitness, age, and size of the person in question.
At this time, only two were known to have been defeated in battle. Though, the victor also perished.
Jachyras are a solitary monster. They avoid contact with each other except to establish territory or to mate. The young are reared by their dames for several months. By then, they are capable of fending for themselves. They are sexually mature by the age of four. No one has been able to really study the creatures, but it is believed that their life span is as long, maybe longer than an average human.

Lower Level Monster: Shade

Name: Shade.
Level: Silver.
Habitat : Anywhere, prefers underground sections of buildings.
Frequency: Semi-Common.
Element: Darkness.
Intelligence: Average.
Danger Level: Yellow-Orange.
Description: These elusive beings seem to be made completely out of darkness, living in shadows cast by anything. The darker the shadow, the more powerful (or numerous) the shades shall be in it, and due to this they tend to live in the darkest of places, like cellars, storage rooms, and deep caves. In addition to being naturally aggressive, Shades are also extremely cautious, which makes them seem falsely ‘cowardly,’ in that they only attack when they are confident of victory in every way.
