| 'There was one time she could've gotten pregnant,' Beslan said. 'I divorced her a year ago. Six months ago I met up with her. I'd been depressed for a bit, I was drunk, and we ended up spending the night. Demon pregnancies don't last as long as human's do. She'll be giving birth in a couple of months, assuming she didn't get pregnant either earlier or later than that.'

| Beslan didn't speak again until they got back to the campsite. He took down the now unsalvageable remains of the soup and threw it out.

| Elizabeth slowly opened her eyes. She hadn't the feeling she slept a lot. She sat down and looked at Dania. She wanted to say something, but her mouth wouldn't open. She had no idea what the subject of the talk was, but she just asked what she wanted to know. 'When are we leaving?' she said, when she finnaly could open her mouth.

| Dania shrugged. 'Perhaps she prefers to sleep outside. She is part elf, you know.' She laid her head down onto the grass and closed her eyes. In just a few days, her life had changed radically. It was too fast for elves.

| Dania leaned against a rock. She closed her eyes, with the seeds still clasped tightly in her hands. A bit of smoke was still coming from the place that was her home a few hours ago.

| Dania would have chuckled, or even smiled, if the wound had healed already. Yet it stayed there, burning for revenge. She waited for Beslan to be off to follow him.
