| Lynx's ears twitched and her nose quivered as she looked towards Jordan as the other hybird began to speak. But something smelled differently as well, and she sounded strange...the smell of feline was stronger now and Lynx realized something suddenly: Jordan could transform. Even Lynx could not change shape...no, she was stuck between being not fully human, yet not fully animal either. Shaking her head, she spoke up as well. "I agree. Let's get out of here." Blinking, he looked down at Lei and Illya, surprised when the bear climbed up onto her, but she simply took it as normal. They really should get moving, and soon. They were bound to be noticed missing soon..."Melody, Eve? Can you two move? We should head out..." The older hyrbid frowned to herself, glancing back at the tube she was staring at before, then turned with Lei in her arms, looking towards the way they had come in. "Yes...let's go...Jordan, if I have to, I can carry Melody and Eve as well...it would be best if you remained empty handed, just in case...unless you can carry them all?"

| {{I'mma getchu fer postan before meh. >:3}}
Melody slowly started to come back to herself, though the image of the mutant inside the tube refused to leave her thoughts. She didn't look up when she answered Jordan didn't really pick up on the difference in her speech right away. "Yeah, I... I can walk on my own... I should help Eve," she slowly stopped leaning on the other girl and began to regain her composure, though she swayed for a moment before finding her balance.
She started to make her way over and helped the younger girl balance, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. She thought for a moment before they made to head out, then spoke up. "I don't think we should leave." The other girls looked at her. "I know it sounds crazy, and I know we're not really in great shape, but think about it...if we don't find out the truth behind this, if we don't find something, anything to just...be able to know why this happened, what this place was, why this is here, then it'll keep haunting me... I'm sure it'll haunt all of us after what we've seen. There's no way we could make a second trip; think about how stressful it would be, all the fear and anticipation building up to the time we'd try to leave again, we'd be sure to make a mistake and get caught, and then there's the fact that we'll be in trouble for skipping class anyway, everyone's going to be watching us... We aren't going to get another chance to come here, so anything we want to find out, we have to find out today."
She paused for a second, looking around at them; Lei unconscious in Lynx's arms, Eve still looking like she could be sick again at any moment, and she herself still felt lightheaded and queasy. "Look, maybe we could just rest a while in one of the rooms upstairs or something for a while. We have enough supplies to stay here for some more time, and even if not all of us are up to searching around, just a couple of us could scout around for information. So...can we just rest a bit and see how things go? Maybe... Maybe we will have to go back, but...we should at least try, right? In all honesty...I'm not sure I even want to go back after...this."
Her eyes travelled over to the tube with the mutant in she'd seen. There were long rows of them either side of the room. She was glad that at the angle she was she couldn't see into any of them. Lynx and Jordan remained quiet and she knew they were thinking about how she was right about this place being on their minds after they'd left, and how after all this the idea of returning to the school wasn't a comforting one to say the least. They agreed that they'd rest a while, just in case, and slowly the group made their way back up the stairs out of the basement.
They headed into one of the rooms they'd been in before so they already knew what was in there and Lynx laid Lei down gently, Melody helping Eve to a seat before sitting herself, still shaky from the whole experience. She took out a bottle of water from her bag and took a sip, then offered it to Eve who took it from her to try and settle her stomach.
Only now did Melody noticed when listening to Jordan speak that her words were strangely slurred. She wondered if it had really disturbed her that much, or maybe she was angry and the feline part was taking over. Maybe it was just that she didn't like enclosed spaces and they'd essentially been in them all day. The basement was the worst if so, farthest away underground, small and then to be filled with such horrible things. She shuddered thinking back on it, still unable to remove the image from her mind.
Not much time had passed when suddenly there was a faint noise from somewhere that caught her attention. When she looked up she realised Lynx and Jordan had clearly already heard it as they were searching for its source, Lynx moving closer to Lei protectively. "What is tha--?" before she could finish there was a loud crash from one of the rooms to one side, then several more crashes and bangs.
She stood up swiftly and looked around, trying to find out where the noises had come from, but couldn't see anything. As she turned she saw one of the doors open, but before she could make out what was happening there were several clanging noises and the room filled with smoke. She brought her arms up to cover her eyes and coughed, trying desperately to see what was going on, but all she could make out where some blurred, shadowy figures by the door.
She tried to summon something up, some strength inside her, but she couldn't seem to move anything, or shift anything. There was shouting, crashing, even explosions all around her. Her muscles tensed and when she tried to step back she was glued to the spot. She fought against it but nothing worked. Her knees felt weak, and just as she thought she was going to fall there was a sudden sharp pain in the back of her head, and everything went black.

| Jordan nearly tightened her grip when she felt Melody pull away. But when she saw that the other girl was able to support her own weight, the hybrid stepped aside. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, unable to hide her anxiety much more. Both sides of her persona wanted to leave this room. They wanted to go back outside, where the open air was. Her tail twitched and she absently scratched at her arm. Her stubby claws left swelling marks, but did not break skin.
She was momentarily distracted from her discomfort when Melody began to speak. What the other girl said was true. Regardless of the fact that she had a tendency to forget things, she had no doubt in her mind that this place, this lonely forgotten tomb, would be the foundation for nightmares for many nights to come. And there was very little chance that they would get another shot at getting out to this location, when they have had time to recuperate. As much as she wanted to leave, what did she truly know about this place? Nothing. I don’t know anything about this place. She grimaced. You know enough to know that this is not a good place to be, the bestial voice growled from the recesses of her mind. We need to get out of here. NOW! I don’t like it. There’s something very wrong here. She shook her head, attempting to quiet the anxious voice. But, until I know what that ‘something’ is, I think we ought to stay. The puma hissed at her. And I think we need to get out! She huffed a sigh out her nose. We will.
The hybrids ears cupped toward the other cross breed when she spoke. She was relieved when she said she could carry the others. No doubt, the older girl had picked up on the more feral part of her nature becoming more prominent. “Thankss. I think I’d betterrr have mmy hands frrree too.” She was certain that she would not hurt her companions when she changed, but she did not want to take the chance of accidentally dropping someone.
She followed behind as the others left the basement. Together they traveled to one of the empty rooms to recuperate. She nearly allowed herself to calm down before something caught her attention. Her ears twitched as she attempted to place the sound. She was certain she heard footsteps, though she and her companions had stopped moving. They were too large to be rodents. In fact, they sounded like… boots? As the heavy sounding footsteps came closer, Jordan attempted to catch a scent on the air. It did her no good, as there was little air current in the building. At the sound of the first crash, she was able to locate the direction from where the strangers were approaching from. It was of little use, though. The room was soon filling with smoke. Then something inside her snapped.
She itched uncontrollably as naked skin was covered by a sleek coat. She could not dream to alleviate the sensation, as her limbs refused to follow her commands. Jordan sank to her knees, her rapidly mutating skeleton unable to support her weight. The hybrids eyes watered from the smoke, and from the aching that swelled through her entire body. A sound that no human could ever mimic escaped her throat. Her loose clothing became tighter as her body lengthened. Her hands thickened, becoming more like paws. She retained her fingers, but they were solid and able to support her weight if she were to run as a quadruped. Transformed, the hybrid looked for what threatened her and her companions. As much as she wanted to run, the beast within was meaning to defend by any means necessary. Even if that meant it was going to take her with it.

| Sayso looked up instinct had brought him here to this... school. He brushed his dark brown hair from his face the wind had blown it there he sighed trying to clear his mind and remember why the heck he had come here. His golden hawk like eyes darted across the land scape as if he was afraid of something or looking for something he idly played with the sleeve of the black jacket he wore over a plain gray t-shirt his jeans were faded with ragged cuffs he wore no shoes which to others might seem odd, but to him was normal. He took a tentative step forward almost like he was afraid of what he would find.

| ((I was waiting for Maverik, but...))
Lynx had followed the others to the spare room. Like Jordan, her instincts were screaming at her to get away from this place. Staying seemed like a horribly wrong thing to do. Still, she wouldn't abandon her friends and run for it, so she followed along. And, as usual, her insticts proved to be correct. Not 10 minutes in that small room and things went wrong. Lynx didn't have the time to respond. The only thing she had managed to do was to reach Lei and scoop her up into her arms...but by the time she had turned around, hearing Jordan's unearthly scream, it was far too late. She had been targeted specifically because of her abilities. They wanted to take her out first, before she even had a chance to react. And so they did.
Doctor Jones must have given them something specifically designed to destroy her mind, at least temporarily, so her body would follow suit. Lynx didn't feel the injection, but she saw the soldier who stepped away and then she glanced down to the syringe and needle imbedded into her muscle. And her mind started screaming.
Lynx dropped Lei as her hands shot up to her head and ears and she echoed the screams that were going on in her mind. Her howl was unearthly, a mixture of the sounds different cats would make. The hybrid dropped to her knees and doubled over in pain, the room swimming before her eyes, changing colors and swirling. She could see Lei on the floor a few feet in front of her, vaguely make out Jordan as she leapt into battle. But what good was she? She was useless, her mind in turmoil, the voices screaming at her. And between her friends, among the multiple colors, she could see other forms. Not just the soldiers, but the owners of those voices that talked to her...ghosts, perhaps, of her own diseased mental state. Tears streamed from the corners of her now-completely scarlet eyes before she passed out, unable to cope with the state her mind was now in.

;-; I'm really bad at this whole roleplaying thing... ))
Far away from the action, Lin couldn't help but worry as she wondered how the operation would turn out. She knew her colleagues were capable, but the woman also knew that the mutants were equally adept at defending themselves. Before she could fret about this further, though, the video feed from the lab caught her eye, and the commander quickly made her way to the machine. Realization dawned on her as she watched a mutant struggle with an unknown figure, and Lin couldn't help but clench her teeth.
Back at the APCs, each squad was making their preparations for the mission, finalizing their movement and engagement plans, when the sound of an angry commander echoed through the radio. "Attention everyone. This is Lin speaking. Things have changed."
To say that the commander was annoyed would be an understatement, as the irritation echoing through the communicator was blatant. "It seems that the director saw fit to send other people ahead of us. If the facility cameras are any indication, there's at least seven other people there. Still, I don't want any chances. We no longer need to operate covertly, so I want all vehicles in front of the lab to cover all squads.
"Neutralize all hostiles, but do not use lethal force unless absolutely necessary. Keep this line active, and I shall relay any relevant information as it turns up. Besides this factor, your original missions remain the same: Neutralise and capture the mutants." As the commander finished her words, the radio fell silent. The interiors of the troop carriers echoed that silence, and the only sound that could be heard was that of the APCs as they sped towards their target.
Within moments, the monstrous machines stopped at the front of the lab, and the opened its massive doors. Pulling down their gas masks, the three squads of fully suited security guards filed out of the APCs, and marched their way into the structure. With a total of 21 operatives, the security officers looked more like the task force of a private army as they entered the building.
"Alright everyone. Sarah will take her team down to the main labs, while Gerrad and Flynn will sweep through the side labs with their squad." Lin's voice echoed through the communicators, and the security force took a few moments to confirm the layout of the building, before making their way to their objectives.
Runin was the pointman of his squad, and as such, the first to enter a poorly lit corridor. Almost immediately, the young man noticed a tall figure standing in the middle of the hallway, his back on Runin. Without a sound, Kos slowly brought his weapon up, steadying his aim for a few seconds, before firing a silent dart at the potential aggressor. Almost immediately, the man collapsed, succumbing to the chemical laced around the dart. Without another word, Runin signalled the rest of his squad to move up, advancing towards the laboratories.

| Sayso sensed something going on the place was way to silent for a school tough he wasn't sure anyone knew he was here he had sent no notification of his arrival before hand, why would he have he had no idea he was coming here. His back itched he shook himself the sense of wrongness was thick in the air making his whole body almost tingle his fingernail lengthened growing sharp enough to cut meat from bone he slipped off his jacket features covered his arms wings ripped holes in his t-shirt a cawing almost whining sound escaped him. Its been to long sense I've roamed the sky's the voice that echoed trough his head sounded slightly depressed as he stretched his large wings creating a wind that blew the leaves on the ground away from him. He jumped the wings catching air and taking him into the sky.
"So very free." He whispered his toe nails had also lengthened, but not as much as his fingernails had the light dusting of features covered his whole body making him look more bird like than human.

| ((Sorry this has taken me so long, I'm so lazy... ))
Eve still felt as though she could be sick at any moment as they made their way upstairs. Her stomach churned horribly and her condition felt as though it was getting worse rather than better. She was starting to struggle to stay on her feet now too and was relieved to be able to sit down as they arrived in one of the rooms.
She realised Melody was right about staying, they wouldn't get this chance again. Eve knew she could never bring herself to walk into this place a second time, but still what were they supposed to do about Lei? She supposed Lynx or Jordan could always carry her, but the thought of carrying her around unconscious seemed like a bad one, surely they should just go back to the school for her sake if nothing else. Eve began to feel worse when she thought about all the trouble they would be in when they got back to the school, especially if they brought back a unconscious 12 year old.
Suddenly bangs and crashes turned Eve's attention to the world around her. Had someone knocked something over? It was a stupid thought considering the volume the noise was, but Eve's mind was already to strained to come up with a more satisfactory idea. Just then the room filled with smoke, Eve coughed and wheezed as she stood up, her legs weak. Her eyes watered leaving tears streaming down her face, she heard Jordan let off an inhuman noise- at least she thought it was Jordan. Panic spread through Eve followed quickly by a sharp pain in her neck, she fell the the floor like a useless rag doll. Lei and Lynx lay next to her, though Melody and Jordan went unaccounted for.
Eve could barely twitch now. Slowly though the panic left her and the room's loud noises went away, she could hear only her own breathing. She felt calm, any sound of Jordan transforming went unheard along with the noises of men piling into the room. Finally she fell unconscious as she felt someone lift her up.
((Sorry if Lei isn't 12, I think she is right? Yes I am too lazy to check.))

| Sayso landed in a tree ruffling the features on his wings he shook his head the voice of the hawk was strong telling him to fly away and never look back, but a more primal instinct held him in place something was going on something that needed to be stopped all he needed to do was find out where. He jumped off the branch landing on the ground his wings fluttering to slow himself he smiled racing forward following blind instinct letting his feet take him without thinking his eyes raced over the landscape flickering from the path in front of him the land scape around him he neared a building stopping he felt... odd something something.... his heart beat faster Something.... something... run... fly... nothing good... NO! the instinct of the bird told him to run his own primal instinct his own selfish pride told him to stay to help out with whatever was going on he calmed clearing him mind entering the building just as quite as the outside... no small sounds something was here something, but he didn't know what he felt his own kind? Hybrids, Shapeshifters. Something was going on. He crept as slowly as he could trough the building still letting instinct lead the way his hawk eyes adjusted to the dusty gloom picking out every detail his wings were folded tightly against his back he was still half hawk. He noticed stairs the felling that dreadful something wrong felling was coming from there he looked around him wanting to make sure no one had seen him as of yet and that someone wasn't following him. He didn't even know what he was getting into. Basement... no sky.... freedom... The bird half scream his wings fluttered creating a small breeze he froze his breathing irregular hopefully no one had felt that breeze or they whoever they were would know he was there. He crept down the stairs looking over his shoulder periodically making sure no one was behind him.
