| Meriona put her arm around Noelle. 'Don't worry,' she whispered in the girl's ear, 'we'll find a way out of this mess.'
The man had walked out of the cave without them realizing. He ran through the forest, as fast as he could. Something was trying to get to them, and the farther away he was from them, the safer they would be. Because he knew that they'd search for him, thinking that the ones would be with him.

| Meriona searched for the strange man, but found him nowhere. 'I think we must leave this cave,' she said, or at least her instincts said. She got up, with her legs stiff.
