Help with items?

I've read the FAQ and a few other posts on items and such, but I can't find the answer I'm looking for, so hopefully this isn't in the wrong spot. XD

I bought a shirt with the only silver I had, but when I go to put the shirt on my avatar, it won't do anything. I've checked the box next to the shirt and hit the "use" button, but nothing happens. Is there something else I'm supposed to do that I'm missing?

All you have to do it go to the Avatar button underneath Account on the top of the page. :3 Your shirt should be listed under Tops or Overtops.
